21211. Make-in-India drone ferries COVID vaccines in Manipur, a first in South Asia
- The Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya launched ICMR’s Drone Response and Outreach in North East (i-Drone) -- a delivery model to make sure that life-saving COVID-19 vaccines reach everyone – on October 4. For the first time in South Asia, a ‘Make in India’ drone transported COVID-19 vaccines over an aerial distance of 15 km in 12-15 minutes in Manipur on October 4.
- First #MakeInIndia drone, which has a capacity of 900 vaccine doses, was used for delivery across a distance of 31 km, from Bishnupur to Karang Island in Manipur.
- Thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Mandaviya said, “Under his leadership, the nation is progressing at a great pace. Today is a historic day, which showed us how technology is making life easier and bringing social change.
21212. Modi launches phase-II of Ujjwala gas connection scheme for the poor
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 10 said it was unfortunate that people had to wait decades for basics like hospitals, roads and electricity, indirectly targeting the previous governments as he launched the second phase of the Ujjwala cooking gas scheme.
- Mr. Modi launched the second phase of the nationwide Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY), or Ujjwala 2.0, by virtually presenting cooking free LPG connections to some beneficiaries in Mahoba in Uttar Pradesh .
- He said crores of toilets have been built across the country under the Swachh Bharat Mission and pucca houses constructed for the poor under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.

- इस वर्ष बाजार में देसी लाइट का करीब 50 फीसद से अधिक कब्जा हो चुका है। दुकानदारों ने लोगों की भावना को समझते हुए देश में बनी झालर व सजावटी सामान को दुकान में अधिक जगह दी है
- देसी लाइट की चाइनीज लाइट से 50 से 60 फीसद अधिक कीमत के बावजूद लोग इसकी खरीदारी कर रहे हैं। क्योंकि, अगर ये लाइट खराब होते हैं तो इसे ठीक किया जा सकता है।
- दुकानों में थोड़ा-बहुत चाइनीज सामान भी दिख रहा है, दुकानदारों का कहना है कि यह पिछले साल का बचा हुआ माल है। इस बार उन्होंने चाइनीज लाइट नहीं मंगाई है।

21214. Atmanirbhar Bharat: शाहजहांपुर में इंडियन इंडस्ट्रीज एसोसिएशन ने महिलाओं को दी बल्ब बनाने की ट्रेनिंग
- उत्तर प्रदेश के शाहजहांपुर जिले के कटरी क्षेत्र की 80 महिलाओं की एक ग्रुप को इंडियन इंडस्ट्रीज एसोसिएशन (Indian Industries Association) द्वारा दिवाली जैसे त्योहारों में इस्तेमाल होने वाले बल्ब और सजावटी बत्तियां बनाने के लिए ट्रेनिंग दिया गया है।
- इन महिलाओं को एलईडी बल्ब तथा त्योहारों में प्रयोग होने वाले बल्ब की झालर बनाना सिखाया गया है और इन्हें आर्थिक रूप से मदद भी की गई है। ये महिलाएं जो भी उत्पाद तैयार करेंगी, उन्हें बड़ी कंपनियां खरीदेंगी और उन्हें कच्चा माल भी उपलब्ध कराएंगी।
- पहले चरण में इस योजना को पूरे प्रदेश में लागू करेंगे इसके बाद अन्य प्रदेशों में भी विस्तार किया जाएगा, जिससे मातृ शक्ति सशक्तिकरण को बल मिलेगा और महिलाएं सशक्त होंगी।

- Bengaluru-based nurture.farm fosters resilient farmers, making agriculture simple, profitable, and sustainable through technology-led solutions.
- The platform already claims to be having one million farmers, 50,000 retailers, has served over 2.5 million acres, and over 2,000 machines.
- The startup is part of the OpenAgTM network. According to the founders, UPL has made a renewed commitment to collaboration by bringing together different players in the food system to generate an impact on the society, where agriculture is valued, food is sustainable, and farms and farmers prosper.
21216. UP govt to set up data centre park in Noida
- The YEIDA officials say that the park is likely to attract an investment of Rs 20,000 crore offering employment to thousands of people.
- IT experts feel that with huge investments in the IT and electronics sector, Noida would be seen competing with Silicon Valley in the US within a few years.
- Many leading companies in the IT and electronics sector have already invested heavily in Noida in the last four years due to the investor-friendly policies of the Yogi Adityanath government.

21217. Solar power projects create employment in UP
- The Solar Energy Policy 2017 provides open access to companies for the establishment of solar park and third-party sale of solar energy.
- Under the provisions of this policy, 100 per cent stamp duty exemption and 100 per cent exemption in electricity duty for 10 years is being given to investors through online single window clearance system.
- This has led to 11 private companies in solar energy sector set up their plants in seven districts of the state, namely Bundelkhand, Banda, Chitrakoot, Hamirpur, Mahoba, Jalaun, Jhansi and Lalitpur to date. The solar power units are generating more than 550 MW of electricity daily.

21218. प्रदूषण से बिगड़ रहे हालात! छात्रों ने संभाली कमान, बेकार प्लास्टिक बॉटल्स में कर रहे खेती
- प्लास्टिक की बोतल को डीकंपोज होने में 450 साल लगते हैं और अपने इस पूरे जीवनकाल में वह पर्यावरण को किसी न किसी रूप में नुकसान पहुंचाते रहते हैं।
- प्लास्टिक का कचरा, खासकर बोतलें पर्यावरण के लिए एक बड़ा खतरा हैं। मुंबई में USB के दस छात्र इस कचरे से निपटने में जुटे हैं। प्लास्टिक की बोतलों को अपसाइकिल कर, वे ऐसे हाइड्रोपॉनिक प्लांटर बना रहे हैं जिसकी लागत काफी कम है और पानी भी ज्यादा खर्च नहीं होता।
- एक बार में चार से पांच बोतलों का इस्तेमाल किया जाता है और उन्हें आधा काटकर, बोतल के ऊपरी हिस्से को उलटकर नीचे वाले हिस्से में डाल दिया जाता है। ऊपरी हिस्से में जूट भरकर प्लांट लगाए जाते हैं। हर बोतल के निचले हिस्से में दो छेद कर उसमें पाइप डाल दिया जाता है ताकि बोतल एक दूसरे से जुड़ी रहें और सभी को पानी का फ्लो मिलता रहे।
21219. Infra works of Rs 10,757 crore completed in Noida since 2017
- Infrastructure projects worth Rs 10,757 crore have been completed in Noida since 2017, with the Aqua Line metro, a COVID-19 hospital and a parking space for over 12,500 cars key among them, according to officials.
- There have been 28 important infrastructure projects, totalling worth Rs 3,062 crore that have been inaugurated since April 2017 while work on several minor projects worth Rs 2,192 crore have been completed till July 2021, it said.
- “In all, work has been completed on infrastructure projects worth Rs 10,757 crore in Noida from April 2017 till July 2021,” Noida Authority CEO Ritu Maheshwari said.
