161. Loom Solar Launches BESS Scalable Up to 1 MWh for C&I Consumers
- On 4 February 2026, Haryana-based solar firm Loom Solar launched a 125 kW/261 kWh battery energy storage system (BESS), scalable up to 1 MWh, for commercial and industrial (C&I) users in India.
- Loom Solar designed the IoT-enabled BESS to replace diesel generators, offering instant power availability, real-time monitoring, intelligent energy management, and seamless renewable power integration.
- The BESS delivers uninterrupted power over two hours, handles low-voltage outages, lasts ~6,000 cycles, expands renewable use, and aligns with India’s growing energy storage deployment and renewable goals.

- On 3 February 2026, India’s Mumbai–Ahmedabad Bullet Train project achieved its second mountain tunnel breakthrough, the Mountain Tunnel-6 (MT-6) in Palghar district, Maharashtra, advancing the high-speed rail corridor.
- Union Railways Minister of India confirmed the breakthrough, with MT-6 excavated using the New Austrian Tunnelling Method (NATM), connecting both ends of the tunnel after around 12 months of work.
- The tunnel is 454 m long and 14.4 m wide, carries both up/down tracks, is the second in a month after MT-5, and is part of a network of multiple tunnels and bridges progressing on India’s first bullet train route.
