23461. आईटीसी ने तमिलनाडु में पहला ऑफसाइट सौर संयंत्र शुरू किया
- 76 करोड़ रुपये के निवेश से तमिलनाडु के डिंडीगुल में अपना पहला ऑफसाइट सौर संयंत्र चालू किया है।
- कंपनी ने एक बयान में कहा कि 14.9 मेगावाट का सौर संयंत्र कार्बन डाइऑक्साइड उत्सर्जन को कम करने में मदद करेगा और इसके साथ ही आईटीसी तमिलनाडु में अपने परिचालन संबंधी 90 प्रतिशत ऊर्जा जरूरतों को नवीकरणीय स्रोतों से हासिल कर रही है।
- कंपनी ने कहा कि आईटीसी के चेयरमैन संजीव पुरी के नेतृत्व में 'संवहनीय 2.0' परियोजना के तहत 2030 तक संपूर्ण ग्रिड बिजली जरूरत को नवीकरणीय स्रोतों से हासिल करेगी।

- बीते साल सीहोर जिले में तीन लाख 90 हजार हैक्टेयर वर्ग क्षेत्रफल में रबी की बुबाई का लक्ष्य निर्धारित किया गया था। इसमें दो लाख 90 हजार हैक्टेयर में मुख्य फसल के रूप में गेहूं और सहायक फसल के रूप में चने की बुबाई 82 हजार हैक्टेयर क्षेत्रफल में की गई थी। कोरोना काल में गेंहू का उत्पादन 60 से 65 क्विंटल प्रति हैक्टेयर दर्ज किया गया है, जबकि जिले में गेहूं का औसत अनुपात 45 क्विंटल प्रति हैक्टेयर आंकलित है।

- Defence Secretary Dr. Ajay Kumar has lauded the Border Roads Organisation for constructing 102new roads and bridges connecting remote border areas. Inaugurating the Annual Chief Engineers and Equipment Management Conference of Border Roads Organisation, BRO in New Delhi
- Dr. Kumar also praised the grit and determination of the BRO personnel for the construction of Umling La Pass, Atal Tunnel and Zojila Pass recently.
- BRO for contributing immensely in national building by constructing strategic infrastructure including roads, bridges, tunnels and airfields along the border areas. This has bolstered the operational preparedness and facilitated speedy movement of equipment and personnel to far-flung areas.

- Chairman of Defence Research and Development Organisation Dr. G Satheesh Reddy handed over technology for indigenous extreme cold weather clothing systems to five Indian companies.
- This clothing will prove to be beneficial for the soldiers of the Indian Army who works in difficult terrains like glacier and Himalayan peaks.
- Army imports extreme cold weather clothing and several Special clothing and mountaineering equipment items for the troops deployed in high altitude regions.
23465. PM Modi launches Rs 64 thousand crore mega health infrastructure mission; Also inaugurates 9 medical colleges in Uttar Pradesh
- PM Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission aims to strengthen the critical healthcare network from village to block to the district to the regional and national level in the next four -five years.
- Under this Mission his government will develop the network of treatment and critical care units in every nook and corner of the country with an aggressive approach.
- For serious illness, thirty thousand new critical care-related beds are being added in 600 districts and referral facilities will be given in 125 districts under this mission.

23467. International Testing Laboratory to be set-up in Kanpur to boost Leather exports
- Anupriya Patel, Minister of State for Commerce & industry has laid the Stone for the International Testing Laboratory in Kanpur, which is set-up as per the MoU signed between Central Leather Research Institute (CSIR- CLRI), an institution under Council for Scientific and industrial Research (CSIR) and KLC Research Council.
- The Leather Sector Skill Council (LSSC) has been undertaking various skill development initiatives in the Kanpur leather cluster. The LSSC had conducted apprenticeship training for the youth in the Kanpur cluster.
- Export of leather, leather products and footwear from Kanpur cluster was to the tune of INR 5208 crore during 2019-20 and the total production of these items from Kanpur cluster is about INR 6000 crore per annum. The leather industry in Kanpur employs about 5 lakh people, both directly and indirectly.

23468. Engineering goods exports record positive growth, says EEPC
- Engineering Export Promotion Council (EEPC) chairman Mahesh Desai said that India’s engineering cumulative engineering exports increased from USD 32.4 billion in April to September in 2020 to USD 52.3 billion during the same period this year.
- Exports of engineering goods have crossed USD nine billion in September, 2021, while 22 out of 25 top export destinations such as China, UK and UAE have recorded positive growth, EEPC said.
- “The FTAs signed earlier led to increased imports for some items in ferrous and non-ferrous sectors from countries like Korea and Japan. Hence there is a need to take a cautious stance while signing new FTAs.”

23469. Kotak Mahindra Bank's consolidated net profit up 1.4% YoY in Q2
- Private sector lender Kotak Mahindra Bank reported a 1.43 per cent year-on-year (YoY) increase in consolidated net profit in the July-September quarter (Q2) of FY22.
- Its net profit for the quarter stood at Rs 2,989 crore compared to Rs 2,947 crore in the year-ago quarter, and was ahead of consensus estimates. Sequentially, the profit is up 65.5 per cent.
- the bank’s advances grew by 8 per cent sequentially and 14.7 per cent YoY to Rs 2.35 trillion.

23470. JSW Group to set up Rs 150-crore steel unit in J&K
