971. इंदिरा गांधी ने वीर सावरकर के नाम जारी किया था डाक टिकट, कांग्रेस को फिर क्यों है इतनी तकलीफें?
- इंदिरा गांधी ने साल 1970 में महान स्वतंत्रता सेनानी वीर सावरकर के योगदान को पहचाना और वीर सावरकर के सम्मान में एक डाक टिकट जारी किया और कहा की सावरकर द्वारा ब्रिटिश सरकार की आज्ञा का उल्लंघन करने की हिम्मत करना हमारी आजादी की लड़ाई में अपना अलग ही स्थान रखता है।
- इसके साथ पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री इंदिरा गांधी ने सावरकर ट्रस्ट में अपने निजी खाते से 11,000 रुपए दान किए थे। इतना ही नहीं इंदिरा गांधी ने साल 1983 में फिल्म डिवीजन को आदेश दिया था कि वह ‘महान क्रांतिकारी’ के जीवन पर एक डॉक्यूमेंट्री फिल्म बनाएं।
- तकरीबन दो साल पहले साल 2018 के अक्टूबर माह की बात है कि जब पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री मनमोहन सिंह और भाजपा आईटी सेल के मुखिया अमित मालवीय वीर सावरकर और पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री इंदिरा गांधी से जुड़े एक मसले पर एकराय थी। अमित मालवीय ने एक ट्वीट किया था, जिसमें एक इमेज पोस्ट की गई थी। जिसमें इंदिरा गांधी और वीर सावरकर की तस्वीरें दिखाई दे रही हैं।
- इस इमेज में इंदिरा गांधी के वीर सावरकर के बारे में दिया गया बयान दिखाई दे रहा है। जिसमें इंदिरा गांधी ने कहा था कि सावरकर द्वारा ब्रिटिश सरकार की आज्ञा का उल्लंघन करने की हिम्मत करना हमारी आजादी की लड़ाई में अपना अलग ही स्थान रखता है।
972. Cadell Road: Named after revolutionary, known by colonial name
- Running along the western flank of central Mumbai, the Swatantrya Veer Savarkar Marg is dotted with major Mumbai landmarks, from Mahim Dargah to Shivaji Park to Siddivinayak Temple and the former Mayoral bungalow that will soon be converted into a memorial to the late Bal Thackeray.
- Named after revolutionary freedom fighter Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, the road was renamed decades ago but continues to be known best by its colonial name — Cadell Road, after PR Cadell, former municipal commissioner of the erstwhile Bombay.
- Savarkar, who espoused complete Indian independence by revolutionary means, is also credited with coining the term ‘Hindutva’. Unknown to many, he lived just off Cadell Road in the 1940s, in what was previously a bungalow named Savarkar Sadan.
973. Veer Savarkar finds place in JNU; Campus roads now named after national figures
- In a historic development, a road in JNU leading to IIMC campus has been named after Veer Savarkar. The road named as ‘VD Savarkar Marg’ was one of the recommendations of the JNU Campus Development Committee made in July 2019.
- In July 2019, the JNU Campus Development Committee had recommended names of several freedom fighters for various roads to the Executive Council (EC). They were: Guru Ravidas Marg, V. D. Savarkar Marg, Rani Abbakka Marg, Abdul Hamid Marg, Maharishi Valmiki Marg, Gargi Vachaknavi Marg, Rani Jhansi Marg and Maharishi Dayananda Saraswati Marg.
- The recommendations of the Committee were placed before the 283rd Executive Council meeting held on 13 November 2019 for consideration and approval. The same was approved by the EC.
- It is an ideological victory of the student council in JNU. It is also expected that JNU will soon have a Savarkar Chair and statue dedicated to Savarkar.
974. Amit Shah lays foundation stone, inaugurates development works worth Rs 144 crore of Kalol Municipality in Gandhinagar
- On September 23, 2025 in Gandhinagar, Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation inaugurated and laid the foundation of projects worth ₹144 crore for Kalol, including water treatment, lake development, sanitation, and other initiatives under government schemes.
- Union Home Minister stated that coordinated rural-urban planning will transform Kalol into a model constituency by 2029, while a 350-bed hospital with world-class facilities will open by 2027, providing advanced healthcare services.
- Projects include a ₹35 crore water plant, ₹11 crore Jyoteshwar Lake, night shelter, borewells, and sanitation equipment. Hospital labs will surpass Ahmedabad Civil Hospital, with free treatment up to ₹10 lakh under Ayushman Bharat and Gujarat health cards.
975. Union cabinet approves phase-III medical expansion: Over 10,000 new MBBS and PG seats to boost India’s healthcare capacity
- The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister approved Phase-III of the Centrally Sponsored Scheme to strengthen medical colleges and hospitals, creating 5,000 PG and 5,023 UG seats across India by 2028–29.
- The Ministry of Health & Family Welfare will implement the scheme with a total cost of ₹15,034.50 crore, shared between Centre (₹10,303.20 crore) and States (₹4,731.30 crore), leveraging existing infrastructure for cost-effective expansion.
- The initiative aims to introduce new specialties, ensure regional balance, and supply skilled doctors, supporting Universal Health Coverage for 1.4 billion people, while AIIMS expansion and new faculty regulations boost healthcare quality.
976. Union Cabinet approves Rs 69,725 crore package to revitalise shipbuilding-maritime sector
- On September 24, 2025 the Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister approved a ₹69,725 crore package in New Delhi to revitalize India’s shipbuilding and maritime ecosystem through a comprehensive four-pillar strategy.
- The package, implemented via schemes like Shipbuilding Financial Assistance till 2036, Maritime Development Fund of ₹25,000 crore, and Shipbuilding Development Scheme of ₹19,989 crore, will enhance financing, infrastructure, technical capacity, and policy reforms.
- The initiative targets 4.5 million GT shipbuilding capacity, 30 lakh jobs, and ₹4.5 lakh crore investments, strengthening supply chains, energy and food security, and boosting India’s global maritime competitiveness under Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
977. Govt clears DSIR scheme with Rs 2,277 crore outlay to boost innovation, R&D
- On September 24, 2025 the Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister approved the DSIR/CSIR scheme “Capacity Building and Human Resource Development” with an outlay of ₹2,277.397 crore for 2021–22 to 2025–26.
- Implemented by CSIR, the scheme covers R&D institutions, national laboratories, Institutes of Eminence, and universities across India, providing guidance by eminent scientists to nurture young researchers in STEMM fields.
- The initiative supports thousands of scholars, boosts India’s Global Innovation Index rank to 39 in 2024, and marks a milestone in CSIR’s 84-year history, strengthening India’s R&D-driven innovation ecosystem.
978. Cabinet clears 4-lane highway, rail line projects in poll-bound Bihar
- On 23 September, 2025, The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister approved major projects including doubling of Bakhtiyarpur-Rajgir-Tilaiya railway line and a four-lane Sahebganj-Areraj-Bettiah highway in Bihar, alongside railway bonuses and a maritime sector package.
- The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs sanctioned ₹2,192 crore for a 104-km railway line upgrade, and ₹3,822 crore for an NH-139W greenfield highway under Hybrid Annuity Mode, generating millions of man-days of employment.
- The maritime package worth ₹69,725 crore includes shipbuilding assistance till 2036, a ₹25,000 crore Maritime Development Fund, and a ₹20,000 crore Shipbuilding Development Scheme, aiming at 3 million jobs and 4.5 million gross tonnes capacity.
979. Schneider Electric joins hands with the ISRO for India’s historic space missions

980. Maharashtra’s Samruddhi Expressway Becomes India’s 1st Indian Mega Highway To Generate Solar Power
- On 24 September, 2025 It was reported that, The Hindu Hridaysamrat Balasaheb Thackeray Maharashtra Samruddhi Mahamarg became India’s first expressway to generate solar power, at Karanja Lad, Washim district, and Mehkar interchange, Buldhana district, along the 701-km corridor connecting Nagpur and Mumbai.
- The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC), led by Vice-Chairman Anilkumar Gaikwad and JMD Manuj Jindal, implemented solar projects by installing 9MW capacity across interchanges, generating power to be sold to MSEDCL under an agreement.
- Power generation began with 3MW at Karanja Lad and 2MW at Mehkar, creating additional revenue beyond toll collection, earning carbon credits, with plans for 204MW solar capacity across various interchanges.
