671. Made in India’ Safety: Railways rolls out locomotive with SIL-4 certified Kavach System to prevent human error
- On November 24, 2025, it was reported that Indian Railways dispatched its first locomotive equipped with the indigenously developed Kavach Automatic Train Protection (ATP) system from the Ajni Electric Loco Shed in Nagpur, marking a major step toward the ‘zero-accident’ goal.
- Kavach is an SIL-4 certified anti-collision technology that automatically prevents overspeeding, signal violations, and head-on collisions through real-time monitoring, auto-braking, RFID-based tracking, GPS synchronisation, and SOS emergency capability.
- After successful testing of braking, signalling, level-crossing warnings, and emergency alerts, Railways has planned to equip 10,000 locomotives with Kavach, including all 312 three-phase engines at the Ajni shed.
672. Indian Navy commissions anti-submarine warfare vessel INS Mahe to boost coastal defence
- On November 24, 2025, the Indian Navy commissioned INS Mahe in Mumbai, the first Mahe-class anti-submarine warfare shallow-water craft, marking a major boost to India’s coastal defence and near-sea dominance.
- Designed and built by Cochin Shipyard, INS Mahe is the lead ship of eight vessels, featuring over 80% indigenous content, advanced sensors, torpedoes, anti-submarine rockets, and high stealth-mobility to hunt submarines and secure maritime approaches.
- Measuring 78 metres in length and displacing about 1,100 tonnes, it is powered by a twin-shaft diesel propulsion system generating more than 6 MW, enabling a top speed of 25 knots, a range of 1,800 nautical miles, and an endurance of 14 days. Its shallow sub-3 metre draft allows effective operations close to the coastline.
673. Indian Railways Crosses 1 Billion Tonne Freight Loading Milestone In FY26, Coal, Iron Ore And Cement Lead Growth
- On November 22, 2025, the Ministry of Railways said in a statement that Indian Railways' freight performance continues to strengthen India's economic backbone, with cumulative loading this year crossing the 1-billion-tonne mark—reaching 1,020 million tonnes (MT) as of 19 November, 2025.
- According to the ministry, this milestone reflects broad-based support from key sectors: coal remains the largest contributor at 505 MT, followed by iron ore (115 MT), cement (92 MT), container traffic (59 MT), pig iron & finished steel (47 MT), fertilisers (42 MT), mineral oil (32 MT), foodgrains (30 MT), raw materials for steel plants (~20 MT), and balance-other-goods (74 MT).
- Freight loading between April to October touched 935.1 MT in 2025, compared to 906.9 MT during the same period 2024.
674. PM Modi at G20 Leaders’ Summit: Trilateral tech alliance with Canada and Australia
- On November 22, 2025. India, Australia and Canada agreed to a new “technology and innovation” partnership in which they will step up cooperation on “critical and emerging technologies”, including on mass adoption of artificial intelligence (AI).
- This partnership is significant given that Canada and Australia are part of the “Five Eyes” intelligence network and have access to cutting-edge tech and information with the US, UK and New Zealand.

675. Centre sanctions over Rs 93cr for strengthening embankments on Chamba national highway
- On November 22, 2025, the central government approved ₹93.55 crore for special repairs and embankment strengthening along vulnerable stretches of NH-154A in Chamba district, following persistent efforts by PWD minister Vikramaditya Singh to address repeated monsoon-related damage.
- The Union road transport ministry granted technical and administrative approval to the project covering critical points along the Chakki–Banikhet–Chamba–Bharmour stretch, with the state PWD ensuring strict monitoring to avoid delays and cost overruns
- The phased work plan includes 30% progress in 2025–26, full completion in 2026–27, and structured maintenance till 2031–32, while the state government continues to seek similar central assistance for other vulnerable national highway segments in Himachal Pradesh.

676. MP receives investment proposal worth Rs 36,600 during Hyderabad's business meet
- On November 22, 2025, Chief Minister announced that Madhya Pradesh received investment proposals worth over ₹36,600 crore from industries in Hyderabad and other southern states, expected to create about 27,800 private-sector jobs.
- According to CM 10 companies submitted major proposals, including AGI Greenpac (₹1,500 crore), Axis Energy (₹29,500 crore), Ananth Technologies (₹1,000 crore), Automatski Solutions (₹1,000 crore), Colaberry Inc (₹1,000 crore) and Dermacure Pharmaceuticals (₹150 crore), reflecting growing investor confidence in Madhya Pradesh.
- Diamonds and defence technology to major infrastructure projects such as the ₹18,000-crore BEML rail coach unit and the upcoming Neemuch hydro pumped storage project on the Chambal River.

- गौरव’ दो रूपों—Gaurav-PCB (बंकर-भेदी, मजबूत संरचनाओं के लिए) और Gaurav-PF (खुले ठिकानों व रणनीतिक टार्गेट्स पर विस्तृत नुकसान के लिए)—में विकसित किया गया है, जिससे पहाड़ी इलाकों, किलेबंद ठिकानों और सैन्य तैनाती पर प्रभावी हमला संभव होता है।

678. Agnikul raises $17 mn at $500 mn valuation; to focus on orbital launch, booster recovery
- On November 22, 2025, Agnikul Cosmos raised $17 million (₹150 crore), valuing the startup at $500 million, to support its upcoming second orbital mission featuring booster/propulsion system recovery on a barge, a world-first for small launch vehicles.
- The company plans to enhance reusability, improve unit economics, and expand launch services, with strong customer interest from Europe, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, India, and upcoming outreach to US clients through its American office.
- The fresh capital will be used to increase launch frequency, scale production, and develop the 350-acre space campus at Kulasekarapattinam, enabling integrated design, manufacturing, testing, and launches, while building on the success of Agnikul’s first private-pad spaceflight and multiple global patents for rocket reusability.
679. Indian farm exports outperform – despite Trump tariffs
- On November 22, 2025 it was reported that Government data for April–September 2025 shows India’s agricultural exports rising 8.8% to $25.9 billion-outpacing overall merchandise export growth of 2.9%-driven by strong performance in non-basmati rice, buffalo meat, marine products, coffee, and fruits & vegetables.
- The growth was enabled by eased rice-export restrictions, surging global coffee prices, diversified seafood markets absorbing US tariff shocks, and rising shipments of farm goods despite export clampdowns linked to inflation control by the Modi government.
- Imports also grew 5.9% to $19.5 billion, led by vegetable oils, fresh fruits, and raw cotton. Falling global prices and US tariff changes will influence upcoming performance, though a potential India–US trade deal may offset pressure.

680. Centre sanctions Rs 137 crore aid to rebuild Mandi-Janjehli road in Seraj
- On November 22, 2025 it was reported that The Centre has approved ₹137.4 crore under the CRIF for reconstructing and upgrading the 83-km Mandi–Gagal–Chailchowk–Janjehli road in Mandi district, Himachal Pradesh, which was severely damaged during the 2025 monsoon.
- PWD Minister and former CM jointly pursued the issue with the Centre, leading to financial approval aimed at restoring connectivity, rebuilding disaster-hit infrastructure, and supporting affected communities.
- Additional CRIF sanctions include ₹38.5 crore for a 110-m double-lane bridge over the Beas from Piradi to Talogi in Kullu and ₹48.69 crore for upgrading the Jejon Mod–Tahliwal road to support the upcoming Bulk Drug Park.
