641. J-K: LG lays foundation to rebuild 189 flood-hit homes in Ramban
- On November 29, 2025, the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir laid the foundation stone for the reconstruction of 189 homes in Ramban district, announcing that the flood-damaged houses will be rebuilt using resilient prefabricated technology with support from the NGO, HRDS-India.
- According to LG, the new structures would help restore stability for displaced families, noting, "The new homes will foster stability in the lives of flood-affected families & contribute to overall development of society. It is our commitment to eliminate social imbalances & disparities to ensure social and economic justice and secure the future of J&K UT."
- Earlier in April 2025, a landslide hit the Shan Palace area in Ramban district, Jammu and Kashmir, following heavy rains.
642. Government approves Tex-RAMPS Scheme to boost textile sector research and competitiveness
- On November 28, 2025, the Government approved the Tex-RAMPS Scheme a ₹305-crore, six-year Central Sector initiative fully funded by the Ministry of Textiles—to boost research, data systems, innovation and competitiveness across India’s textile sector.
- The scheme focuses on smart textiles, sustainability, advanced technologies, efficiency improvement, creation of robust data systems (India-Size study, supply-chain mapping, employment assessments) and establishment of the Integrated Textiles Statistical System for real-time analytics and evidence-based policymaking.
- Tex-RAMPS will support start-ups, incubators, State-level capacity building, workshops and industry–academia collaboration, with the government and industry bodies (including CITI) expecting major gains in innovation, global competitiveness, MSME strength, job creation and long-term sector resilience.

643. Centre clears ₹20,000 cr highway projects for Gujarat, Gadkari warns of zero tolerance on road quality
- On November 27, 2025, Union Minister for Road, Transport and Highways has said that projects worth ₹20,000 crore have been approved for Gujarat under the National Highway Authority of India.
- With over 5,000 km of National Highways and an even larger network of State Highways, the state connects key economic corridors such as the Delhi–Mumbai Industrial Corridor, major ports including Kandla, Mundra and Pipavav, and industrial hubs like Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat, Rajkot and Jamnagar.

644. Indrajaal unveils India's first AI-powered Anti-Drone Patrol Vehicle capable of neutralising hostile drones even while in motion
- On Nove,mber 27, 2025, Hyderabad-based Indrajaal Drone Defence has unveiled the Indrajaal Ranger, which it calls India’s first AI-powered Anti-Drone Patrol Vehicle (ADPV) that is capable to detect, track, and neutralise hostile drones while the vehicle is in motion.
- The mobile platform is designed to cover border roads, canal belts, agricultural stretches, critical infrastructure, and dense urban pockets. Its core features include autonomous threat assessment, instant interception, and multi-sensor awareness through an AI-enabled command system.
- The Ranger has been developed by Grene Robotics and operates on an all-terrain 4x4 chassis equipped with multiple detection and mitigation systems. These include GNSS spoofing, radio frequency jamming, a cyber takeover unit that can remotely control rogue drones, and kinetic kill mechanisms.
645. Union Home Ministry takes over Ladakh LG’s financial powers for project approvals up to Rs 100 crore
- On November 24, 2025, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) assumed exclusive financial authority in Ladakh, taking over powers earlier held by Lieutenant Governorto approve schemes and projects up to ₹100 crore.
- Under the new framework, all sanctioning powers of Administrative Secretaries, Chief Engineers, Deputy Commissioners, and Hill Council CEOs—previously ranging from ₹3 crore to ₹20 crore—have been withdrawn, and all such approvals will now be issued directly by the MHA.
- While the Contract Committee may still award contracts between ₹40 crore and ₹100 crore, these require MHA’s administrative and expenditure approval; all project proposals must now be routed through Ladakh’s Planning, Development & Monitoring Department before submission to the MHA.
646. India’s economy grows 8.2% y/y in second quarter, beats forecasts

647. India Ranks Third In Asia Power Index 2025, Just Behind US And China
- On November 28, 2025, India secured the 3rd position in the Asia Power Index 2025 released by Australia’s Lowy Institute, ranking behind the United States and China but crossing the threshold for “major power” status for the first time.
- India’s overall score rose to 40/100 (a gain of 2%), driven by strong post-Covid economic recovery, rising geopolitical influence, and steady gains in military capability and technology; China scored 73.7, the US 81.7, while Russia showed its first power rebound since 2019.
- The 2025 Index evaluated 27 countries across 131 indicators in eight domains-military, economy, diplomacy, culture, resilience and future resources-showing China narrowing the gap with the US, Japan remaining steady, and Southeast Asian nations making modest improvements.

648. India-US sign Rs 7,995 cr agreement for Navy's MH-60R helicopter fleet support: Defence Ministry
- On November 28, 2025, India signed Letters of Offer and Acceptance (LOAs) with the United States under the FMS programme for five-year sustainment support of the Indian Navy’s MH-60R helicopters, valued at approximately ₹7,995 crore.
- The package covers spares, support equipment, training, technical assistance, component repair and replenishment, and creation of Intermediate-level repair and Periodic Maintenance Inspection facilities in India—strengthening Aatmanirbhar Bharat by reducing long-term dependence on the US and boosting MSME participation.
- The sustainment support will sharply improve the operational availability of MH-60R helicopters—key platforms with all-weather and Anti-Submarine Warfare capability—allowing efficient deployment from dispersed bases and naval ships for primary and secondary missions

649. Gorakhpur-Izzatnagar Express Flagged Off
- On November 27, 2025, the Union Railway Minister and the Minister of State for Electronics and IT jointly flagged off the extended Gorakhpur-Izzatnagar Express through video conference from New Delhi. The Gorakhpur-Pilibhit Express has now been officially extended up to Izzatnagar station.
- The minister highlighted that the train service, inaugurated from Bareilly, will substantially strengthen connectivity from Bareilly to Pilibhit and onward to Gorakhpur. He also underlined the massive increase in Uttar Pradesh’s railway budget, which has risen nearly 18 times compared to eleven years ago. The allocation for railway development in the state has now reached ₹18,458 crore, up from just ₹1,109 crore previously.
- Providing further updates, the Railway Minister informed that redevelopment work is in progress at 157 railway stations across Uttar Pradesh under the Amrit Bharat Station Program.
650. Indian Army Boosts Community-Led Adventure Tourism in North Sikkim
- It was reported on November 27, 2025, that the Indian Army provided specialised high-altitude equipment to residents of Yumthang Valley, North Sikkim, to boost community-led adventure tourism. The supplies, including camping gear, climbing essentials, safety equipment, and cooking sets, will help villagers organise safe and structured adventure activities for 20-25 daily tourists.
- The initiative follows the Army’s earlier outreach efforts in Sikkim, such as high-altitude rescue training, medical support, and eco-tourism development around Gurudongmar Lake, Chungthang, and Thangu. Local leaders said the support would enhance youth confidence, create sustainable livelihoods, and formalise tourism operations.
- According to the Indian Army, the broader goal is to promote safe trekking, well-guided camping experiences, and environmentally responsible tourism across North Sikkim’s high-altitude terrain.
