591. Centre clears 25 road projects in Tripura to boost connectivity for 30 PVTG habitations
- On December 9, 2025 The Ministry of Rural Development approved 25 road projects in Tripura under PM-JANMAN, covering 65.38 km with an investment of ₹68.67 crore, aiming to provide all-weather connectivity to 30 Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group habitations across the state.
- The Ministry of Rural Development initiated the projects by funding road construction that will link remote PVTG habitations, improving access to healthcare, education, and markets, while also stimulating trade, transport, employment, and overall socio-economic development.
- The Centre stated that the connectivity projects align with Northeast development goals and Viksit Bharat vision, aiming to strengthen rural-urban linkages, enhance tribal welfare, generate construction-phase employment, and support long-term economic growth in PVTG-dominated regions.

592. India’s Fighter Jets Learn To ‘Think In Flight’: Meet DRDO-Developed Morphing Wings That Adapt Like Living Organisms
- On December 7, 2025, India has developed morphing wing technology that lets fighter jets change wing shape mid-flight, matching capabilities previously explored by NASA, Airbus and DARPA.
- DRDO and CSIR–NAL have successfully tested a flight-ready morphing wing segment with real-time geometric adjustments.
- A DRDO scientist told AGN that the team has validated the hardware, actuators and control algorithms, and plans to scale the tech for next-generation combat jets.
593. MP Chief Minister flags off 10 new Canter buses at Panna National Park
- On December 8, 2025, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister flagged off 10 new canter buses from the Madla Gate of Panna National Park, enhancing safari facilities for tourists.
- With the introduction of these buses, visitors will now be able to enjoy the jungle safari in a more comfortable and convenient manner.
- These 10 new canter buses will be operated at major national parks and tourist destinations across the state, including Bandhavgarh, Kanha, Pench, Panna, and Parsili (Sidhi), among others, to ensure convenient and enhanced safari experiences for visitors.

594. Delhi launches AI innovation drive for 500,000 students
- On December 7, 2025, the Delhi government has launched Delhi AI Grind — a city-centric Artificial Intelligence (AI) innovation movement that aims to equip the youth with the skills needed for an AI-driven future, the education department .
- Officials said the initiative targets 5 lakh learners across 1,000+ institutions, including schools, colleges, ITIs, and universities.
- The programme is open to participants aged 10 to 25 years, encompassing schools, colleges, and open categories. Participants can focus on ten critical sectors — transport, health, food systems, tourism, governance, energy, digital education, climate and environment, water and waste management, and public services.

595. Govt Gives LOI to University of New South Wales to Set Up Campus in Bharat
- On December 8, 2025, the government handed over a Letter of Interest (LOI) to the University of New South Wales, Australia, to set up its campus in Bharat.
- Union Education Minister handed over the LOI, along with his Australian counterpart Jason Clare, to the University on the sidelines of the 3rd Australia-India Education and Skills Council Meeting in New Delhi.
- According to the Ministry, the University of New South Wales is a premier Australian university, which ranks top 20 globally in the QS World University Rankings. Both Ministers also reviewed their cooperation in education, innovation, and research, and held meaningful discussions on further deepening engagements from Pre-school to PhD.

596. Bharat achieved 50% of its installed electricity capacity from non-fossil fuel sources: MNRE
- Bharat has achieved its goal of installing 50 per cent of its power capacity from non-fossil sources, five years before the 2030 deadline. This milestone was confirmed on December 8, 2025, when the Standing Committee on Energy presented its report in the Lok Sabha and praised the MNRE, the Ministry of Power, and other agencies for helping the country move closer to its long-term climate goals.
- The MNRE reported that as of 30 June 2025, Bharat’s total installed power capacity was 485 GW, and 243 GW of this came from non-fossil energy. The Committee highlighted that Bharat has already set up 116 GW of solar power and aims to reach 292 GW by 2030.
- The Ministry said that Bharat must install about 176 GW of new solar capacity in the next five years to meet the wider target of 500 GW of non-fossil power capacity, and explained that 128 GW of solar projects are already being built, with another 62 GW in the tendering stage.
597. J-K: Remote villages in Rajouri get road connectivity for first time since Independence
- On December 5, 2025, in Rajouri, Jammu & Kashmir, the government achieved first-ever road connectivity to remote Kalakote sub-division villages such as Patta and Ghodar, through NABARD-funded road construction across the Pir Panjal Mountain Range.
- PWD engineers, district administration, and schemes like NABARD, PMGSY, and Panchayat funds enabled connectivity by constructing new roads, enforcing quality standards, and executing multiple projects to ensure no village remains unconnected.
- A 3-km road costing Rs 2.48 crore, using 50 mm BM and 30 mm PC, is under construction; villagers report improved schooling, healthcare access, and mobility after 70 years, with additional PMGSY projects 50% complete.
598. MSEDCL installs 45,911 solar pumps in a record month
- On December 6 2025, it was reported that, In one month in Maharashtra, MSEDCL installed 45,911 solar agricultural pumps, earning a Guinness World Record, with the certificate presented in Auric City, Shendra MIDC, in the presence of CM Devendra Fadnavis.
- MSEDCL, using a farmer-centric strategy, deployed multiple installation teams, vendor empanelment, strict service-level agreements, automatic grievance escalations, pre-positioned inventory, and digital real-time tracking to complete installations efficiently and resolve issues within three days.
- Pump capacity was allocated by land size-3 HP for up to 2.5 acres, 5 HP for up to 5 acres, 7 HP for larger farms—ensuring equitable distribution in water-stressed zones and improving irrigation security, productivity, and farmer incomes.
599. Indian Railways deploys AI intrusion detection across 141 RKM on NF Railway to prevent elephant collision
- On December 6, 2025 It was reported that, the Ministry of Railways announced that AI-based predictive maintenance is being piloted at selected Indian Railways stations and safety systems like DAS-enabled elephant detection are implemented in 141 RKms on NF Railway.
- Indian Railways, with DFCCIL and advanced tech partners, uses AI, ML, OMRS, WILD, and DAS systems to predict failures, detect intrusions, and monitor components by analysing acoustic signals, machine vision data, and rolling-stock conditions.
- Tenders cover 981 additional RKms for elephant detection; MVIS, introduced via a July 2025 MoU, detects hanging or missing parts in moving trains; signalling pilots will generate standard failure prediction logs and alert mechanisms for timely action.
600. India Opens World's Highest War Memorial At Galwan, Five Years After Deadly Clash With China
- On December 07, 2025, in Ladakh’s Galwan Valley near KM-120, India inaugurated the world’s highest war memorial to honour 20 soldiers killed in the 2020 India–China clash, built under the Bharat Ranbhoomi Darshan initiative.
- Defence Minister inaugurated the memorial, crafted from red and black granite, inspired by a trishul and damru, featuring a central installation, eternal flame, and 20 bronze statues representing each fallen soldier.
- The complex includes a museum, digital gallery, auditorium, cafés, souvenir shop, and briefing zone; located along the Durbuk–Shyok–DBO Road in Sector North, it highlights the 2020 Galwan clash fought without firearms and its impact on Sino-Indian relations.
