351. Chhattisgarh launches PMAY houses powered with solar power for tribal households

352. Indian Railways become biggest electrified rail system globally

353. Sikkim Records Over 17 Lakh Tourist Arrivals In 2025
- In 2025, Sikkim (Gangtok district) welcomed over 17 lakh tourists, registering an increase of more than 82,000 arrivals compared to 2024, officials said on January 7.
- According to Tourism Department Additional Chief Secretary CS Rao, domestic tourist arrivals increased sharply, while foreign arrivals declined due to travel disruptions caused by severe damage to NH-10 in October.
- Domestic tourists rose to 16.35 lakh from 15.40 lakh, foreign arrivals fell to 71,710; improved road connectivity may push arrivals to nearly 20 lakh in 2026, supported by Sikkim’s growing appeal as a Himalayan destination.

354. Tata Motors, JSW MG, M&M drive EV retails to 77% growth in 2025: FADA
- On January 7 2026 it was reported that, In 2025, across India passenger EV retail sales surged 77.04% YoY to 176,817 units, with EV penetration rising to 4.0% from 2.4% in 2024.
- According to Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations, growth was driven by strong demand for high-volume EVs and new SUV launches led by Tata Motors, JSW MG Motor India, and Mahindra & Mahindra.

360. Institutional investments in Indian real estate hit all-time high of $8.47 bn in 2025: Report
