2101. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari visits Bhubaneswar to lay foundation stones for development projects worth Rs 4000 crore
- On 17 April 2025, Union Minister of India arrived in Bhubaneswar to lay foundation stones and inaugurate development projects worth Rs 4,000 crore, as part of a major infrastructure push in Odisha.
- Union Minister further said, "With the active support of the Ministry of Education, we are set to expand the Sadak Suraksha Abhiyaan to schools across India, aiming to sensitise our future generations about road safety--a concern of national importance."
- Union Minister added that if India wants to make our country 'Vishwaguru, 'we have to import less, and exports should be increased, trying to bring logistics costs on a single digit.
2102. India's Dushanbe-Chortut Highway Project in Tajikistan Nears Completion.
- On 22 December 2025 The Dushanbe-Chortut Highway Project being undertaken by India in Tajikistan is nearing completion.
- India's Border Roads Organisation (BRO) is constructing the 4.44 km eight-lane (two-way) highway, which will decongest the country's capital, under the USD 20 million grant announced during the state visit of the President of India to Tajikistan in October 2018.
- The nature of development partnership and economic cooperation are not comparable with any country in the region. India's investments and development projects are based on the development priorities of a recipient country,

2103. India will cooperate in building a new Parliament in Mauritius:
- On 12 March 2025 Prime Minister addressed a joint press conference in Mauritius during his two- day state visit and said India will cooperate in building a new Parliament in Mauritius.
- India and Mauritius signed eight Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) to strengthen cooperation in banking, trade, security, and governance.
- This will be a gift to Mauritius from the Mother of Democracy,” PM Modi said. He stated that India and Mauritius are not only linked by the Indian Ocean but also connected by traditions and culture. “We are partners in the journey of economic and social growth.

2104. India exports 10,000 tonnes rice to Bangladesh to help address food shortage
- On 16 April 2025, An Indian vessel carrying 10,000 tonnes of rice arrived at Bangladesh’s Chattogram Port, days after India exported an additional 36,100 tonnes of parboiled rice to its eastern neighbour.
- The rice, shipped in a vessel named MV Phu Thanh, was bought under an open tender contract signed on March 2, 2025. Under the contract, a total of five lakh metric tonnes of rice will be imported from India by Bangladesh to address its food shortages.
- Since last year, Bangladesh has faced a severe decline in many sectors, including agriculture, with severe rains, and droughts causing decline in food supply. The problems have been exacerbated due to the socio-political as well as massive economic instability, corruption, and the country’s inability to meet the global food price hikes.

2105. Labour ministry signs MoU with Swiggy to list gig opportunities on govt's NCS portal
- On 16 April, 2025, Food delivery and quick commerce platform Swiggy has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ministry of Labour & Employment for strengthening employment linkages in the gig and logistics sector through the National Career Service (NCS) portal.
- Under this MoU, Swiggy will integrate its gig opportunities–including delivery, logistics, and support roles–onto the NCS portal.
- The real-time integration will enhance visibility of gig jobs for NCS users, who will benefit from timely and verified work opportunities across urban and semi-urban areas.
2106. Organic exports from India surges 35% to $666 m in FY25
- On 15 April 2025 The government said India’s export of organic products jumped 35 per cent to $665.96 million (about ₹5,710 crore) during the 2024-25 fiscal from $494.80 million in the previous year due to a surge mainly in shipments of cereals, tea, spices, medicinal plants, oilseeds and processed foods.
- In volume terms, the growth was 41 per cent at 0.37 million tonnes (mt) from 0.26 mt. Though the government said that the upward trend shows rising global demand for Indian organic products, experts said that there is a lot of steps needed to re-build the brand ‘Organic India’ amid questions raised over credibility of certifying agencies.
- Export of organic cereals (rice) and millets increased to $161.67 million in FY25 from $86.66 million in FY24, that of organic processed food to $154.01 million from $129.61 million, medicinal plant products to $88.57 million from $72.42 million, organic tea to $45.13 million from $34.11 million, organic spices to $45.42 million from $35.93 million and organic oilseeds to $36.20 million from $25.64 million.

2107. Mumbai-Manmad Panchavati Express becomes India’s First Rail With ATM
- On 16 April 2025 In a first for Indian Railways, the Mumbai-Manmad Panchavati Express has become the country's first train to feature an onboard ATM, installed in an air-conditioned coach. The ATM has successfully completed its trial run.
- India has installed an ATM in a train, and ran successful trials to check its efficiency. The cash service will be available in the Mumbai-Manmad Panchavati Express. Passengers should note that the ATM has been set up in an air-conditioned coach of the train
- The initiative has been introduced as part of Indian Railways’ Innovative and Non-Fare Revenue Ideas Scheme (INFRIS) with a collaboration between the Bhusawal division of Indian Railways and the Bank of Maharashtra.

- 15 अप्रैल 2025 डिफेंस रिसर्च एंड डेवलपमेंट ऑर्गनाइजेशन (Defence Research and Development Organisation- DRDO) के 651 किलोवाट वाटर जेट प्रोपल्शन सिस्टम (Water jet propulsion system) का सफल ट्रायल हुआ।
- लार्सन एंड टर्बो (Larsen & Turbo) ने टेक्नोलॉजी डेवलपमेंट फंड स्कीम (Technology Development Fund Scheme) के तहत डिजाइन किया है, जिसका भारतीय नौसेना के फास्ट इंटरसेप्टर क्राफ्ट पर प्रारंभिक समुद्री परीक्षण किया गया। एक्स पर एक पोस्ट में कहा गया, ‘डीआरडीओ की टीडीएफ स्कीम के तहत एक बड़ा मील का पत्थर हासिल हुआ।
- 651 किलोवाट वॉटरजेट प्रोपल्शन सिस्टम ने भारतीय नौसेना के फास्ट इंटरसेप्टर क्राफ्ट पर समुद्री परीक्षण सफलतापूर्वक पूरा किया। इसे लार्सन एंड टर्बो ने पूरी तरह स्वदेशी रूप से डिजाइन और डेवलप किया है।
2109. Two Bengaluru startups release powerful tech platforms on World Quantum Day
- On 16 April 2025 On the occasion of World Quantum Day, Bengaluru-based startups — QpiAI and QNu Labs — announced two new quantum technologies.
- QpiAI, one of the eight startups selected under the National Quantum Mission coordinated by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), announced the launch of one of India’s most powerful quantum computers featuring 25 superconducting qubits bits (quantum bits).
- , QNu Labs launched QShield, described as the "world’s first platform" that enables seamless cryptography management across any environment. QShield offers an end-to-end solution for securing sensitive data both in transit and at rest.
- The startup’s products have been commercialised and delivered to organisations, including DRDO, Weapons and Electronic Systems Engineering Establishment (WESEE), the Indian Army, BEL, and the Indian Navy.
2110. Centre Plans Rs 10 Lakh Crore Highway Projects In Next Two Years, Special Focus On Northeast And Border Areas
- On April 13, 2025, Union Minister announced a Rs 10 lakh crore plan for national highway projects over the next two years, prioritising Northeast and border areas to match US road standards.
- The initiative includes 784 projects covering 21,355 km in eastern India, costing Rs 3.73 lakh crore, with Rs 57,696 crore for Assam, Rs 90,000 crore for Bihar, and significant investments in West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Odisha.
- Union minister highlighted ongoing projects worth Rs 1 lakh crore in the Northeast (excluding Assam) and a Rs 170 crore mass rapid transport pilot in Nagpur using non-polluting buses, potentially expandable nationwide.
- India’s highway network has grown from 91,287 km in 2014 to 1,46,204 km, with only 9% now under two lanes, reflecting a major upgrade in infrastructure quality across states.
