1. Tripura Government Signs MoU with Apollo Hospitals for Free Treatment of Children Suffering Heart Disease: CM
- In a significant stride towards enhancing healthcare accessibility, the Tripura government has forged a partnership with Apollo Hospitals aimed at providing free treatment to children suffering from heart diseases.
- The government is committed to ensuring ‘health for all’ and has taken proactive steps to address critical healthcare needs. The MOU signed with Apollo Hospitals underscores our dedication to providing specialized care, particularly for children with heart conditions.
- Under this initiative, children will receive free treatment not only at Apollo Hospitals but also at Government Medical College, Medica Hospital in Kolkata and Shija Hospital and Research Institute in Manipur, with all expenses covered by the state government.
- The Chief Minister also inaugurated the “Stop Diarrhea Campaign”, targeting water-borne diseases prevalent during the monsoon season. “This campaign will distribute ORS and zinc tablets to approximately 3 lakh children aged zero to five years

2. Assam's Namrup set for Rs 500 crore Nano urea plants boost

3. Dir Sericulture launches 2nd Silkworm Rearing Pilot Project in Pulwama
- Director Sericulture Jammu and Kashmir, on 30 June 2024 inaugurated a second silkworm rearing pilot project in District Pulwama.

4. IAF chief inaugurates Weapon Systems School to recalibrate Air Force
- The Indian Air Force (IAF) has inaugurated a Weapon Systems School in Hyderabad, marking a significant step towards transforming the force into a future-oriented force.
- The WSS will impart effect-based training that is contemporary in nature and prepare officers of the newly formed branch in line with the requirements of the IAF, the officials said.

5. Rs 47.2 lakh sanctioned for setting up of CLMC at MCH Gandhi Nagar
- Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has approved Rs 47.20 lakh for establishment of Comprehensive Lactation Management Centre (CLMC) at MCH Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.
- The first of its kind Milk Bank (Comprehensive Lactation Management Centre) in J&K will be established on 3rd floor of the Maternity Hospital, Gandhi Nagar, which is already running State of the Art 150-bedded NICU and taking load of SMGS Hospital as well as periphery hospitals to manage all sick neonates and gynae & obstetrics patients.

6. Chandrayaan-3's Pragyan rover makes big discovery at Moon's Shiv Shakti Point
- India's Chandrayaan-3 mission has provided new insights into the lunar surface at the Moon's southern high-latitude region, according to a new analysis of data from the Pragyan rover's exploration.
- The findings, which shed light on the distribution and origin of rock fragments in the area, mark a significant advancement in our understanding of lunar geology.
- The Pragyan rover, operated by the Vikram lander, travelled 103 meters on the lunar surface in the Nectarian plains, a scientifically significant area.
- During its exploration, Pragyan encountered numerous small rock fragments ranging from 1 to 11.5 centimeters in size. These fragments were found scattered around the rims, wall slopes, and floors of small craters, each no larger than 2 meters in diameter.

7. India's manufacturing PMI rises to 58.3 in June 2024, fastest rate of hiring in 19 years
- India's manufacturing activity rose owing to increased robust demand leading to the fastest rate of hiring in more than 19 years despite inflationary pressures remaining elevated, a survey showed.
- The HSBC final India Manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI), compiled by S&P Global, rose to 58.3 in June. This is slightly below the preliminary estimate of 58.5 but up from 57.5 in May 2024.
- Reuters' survey indicates inflation will average near RBI's 2-6% target range, with 4.6% and 4.5% in current and next fiscal years. RBI is expected to lower interest rates 25 basis points.

8. CR’s solar projects help save ₹4.6cr; carbon footprint of 6,595 MT reduced
- Moving towards its ultimate goal of zero carbon emission by 2030, the Central Railway has commissioned 12.05 MWP (megawatt peak) solar plants by utilizing the rooftops of railway stations and buildings. Of this, 4 MWP units were installed last year 2023.
- Railway officials report Rs4.62 crore in 2023-24 savings and 6,595 MT carbon footprint reduction, equivalent to 2.50 lakh trees, with plans for an additional 7 MWP solar plant underway.
- Officials are utilizing 56 MW of wind and 61 MW of solar energy, and signing power purchase agreements for 325 MW of renewable energy round-the-clock.
- The Central Railway's current monthly power consumption is 237 million units for traction work and 9.7 million units for non-traction work, with 70% expected to be green after renewable energy sources are commissioned.

9. Kolkata Port Invites Bids for 2 MW Solar Power Project at Haldia Dock
- Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port, Kolkata (formerly Kolkata Port Trust) has invited bids for the design, engineering, supply, construction, erection, testing, and commissioning of a 2 MW grid-connected solar power project at Haldia Dock Complex.
- The successful bidder will be responsible for a ten-year operation and maintenance project, with the deadline for bid submissions being July 30, 2024. Bidders must pay a non-refundable fee of ₹2,950 and ₹2.6 million for the Haldia Dock Complex, with a 14-month completion time and 120-month defect liability.
- Recently, a government of India enterprise, Bridge and Roof Company (India), invited bids to set up a 2.3 MW grid-connected rooftop solar power project at the Khidirpore Dock II in Kolkata, West Bengal.

10. Ola Electric to invest $100 million in gigafactory
- Ola Electric plans to invest $100 million in the first phase of building its gigafactory for lithium-ion battery cells, with the localized cells expected to be used in electric scooters next year.
- Ola Electric plans to invest in Gigafactory's 'phase 1A' to increase cell manufacturing capacity to 1.5 GWh, with a goal to expand to 5 GWh in 'phase 1B'. The company is developing advanced 4680 battery cells.
- Ola Electric raised $240 million from State Bank of India for Gigafactory construction in August, part of a $384 million financing round with Singapore's Temasek. The company plans to use the proceeds for capacity expansion.
