2361. India's tech startups clinch $2.5 billion funding in Q1 2025, fare better sequentially: Report
- On 24 March,2025, It was reported that, India's tech startups raised $2.5 billion in the first quarter of 2025, marking a 13.64% increase over the previous quarter and an 8.7% rise from the year-ago period,
- Late-stage ventures raked in total funding of $1.8 billion in Q1 2025, an increase of 38.46% compared to Q4 2024, and an increase of 114.54% when seen in the context of Q1 2024.
- A total of 38 acquisitions took place this quarter, marking a 15.15% increase from the previous quarter and a 40.74% rise over Q1 2024.
2362. Another Missile Cum Ammunition barge joins Indian Navy
- On 8 march 2025 The eighth and final Missile Cum Ammunition (MCA) barge, LSAM 11(Yard 79), was inducted into the Indian Navy on Friday at the Naval Dockyard, Mumbai. Seven of these MCA barges, designed to support the operational requirements of the Navy.
- The MCA barge, constructed by SECON Engineering Projects Pvt Ltd, will facilitate the transportation, embarkation and disembarkation of articles or ammunition to Indian Navy platforms both alongside jetties and at outer harbours.
- The barges have been indigenously designed by the shipyard in collaboration with an Indian Ship Designing firm and successfully model tested at Naval Science and Technological Laboratory (NSTL), Visakhapatnam to ensure their seaworthiness.
2363. Oriental Rail Infra secures Rs 43-cr Vande Bharat order from Indian Railways
- On 7 march 2025 Oriental Rail Infrastructure has secured its first significant order for the supply of seats for the Vande Bharat Express, India's first indigenous semi high speed train.
- The order, valued at Rs 42.89 crore, was awarded by Rail Coach Factory (RCF), Kapurthala.
- The order entails the supply of eight sets of one rake set of "seats" without seat fixing profiles for Trainset-18, more commonly known as the Vande Bharat Express
2364. DCDC Kidney Care receives Rs 150 crore investment from ABC Impact
- On 24 March,2025, It was reported that, DCDC Health Services, which operates dialysis centres under the DCDC Kidney Care brand, announced that it has secured an investment of Rs 150 crore from Singapore-based ABC Impact, an Asia-focused impact investor backed by Temasek.
- DCDC Health currently operates more than 200 centres across India under the public-private partnerships (PPP) mode. There are company-owned standalone clinics, serving more than 20,000 patients annually.
- DCDC currently delivers nearly 100,000 dialysis sessions per month, serving the economically weaker sections in India.
2365. HFCL arm bags supply contract from Indian Army
- On 8 march 2025 HFCL is material subsidiary, HTL, has received the contract worth Rs 44.36 crore from Indian Army for supply of tactical optical fiber cable assemblies.
- The indigenously manufactured solution features optical fiber cables capable of withstanding heavy armored vehicle loads and is equipped with specialized military-grade connectors designed for harsh and demanding environments. It is specifically engineered for mission-critical applications requiring rapid deployment of optical fiber communication links in challenging battlefield conditions.
- Lightweight and portable, it can be conveniently carried by infantry in a backpack. HFCL is a leading technology company specializing in digital networks for telcos, enterprises, and governments. With its strong R&D expertise and global system integration service.
2366. Juniper Green Energy Commissions 100-MW Solar Plant in India
- On 10 March, 2025,Juniper Green Energy announced the commissioning of a 100-MW solar power project to supply electricity to Bhutan. The solar project, located in Rajasthan, contributes to a total generation capacity of 100 MW.
- The project facilitates an important cross-border agreement, aiming to provide 50 per cent of the power generated to Bhutan during winter months, the company said in a statement.
- Juniper Green Energy is an independent renewable energy power producer and operator specializing in solar, wind, and hybrid projects.
2367. Triple-railway bridge inaugurated in Guntur
- On 9 march 2025 Union Minister of State for Rural Development and Communications inaugurated the newly completed triple-railway bridge at Srinivasa Nagar, Donka Road .The Rs 5.80 crore project aims to ease traffic congestion and improve connectivity in Guntur.
- The project would enhance train operations, increase the number of platforms, and improve travel efficiency for passengers.
- The acknowledged delays in the project due to damaged drainage systems and directed officials to assess whether the new infrastructure would prevent waterlogging during heavy rains.
2368. ‘Make in India’ boost as private company produces key Tejas component
- On 10 March,2025, the first rear fuselage for the Tejas Mark-1A jet produced by the private sector was handed over to defence PSU Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), which is struggling to produce the indigenous fighter, in the presence of defence minister in Bengaluru.
- The Initiative to testimony to India’s progress towards Aatmanirbharta in defence and the govt’s commitment towards enhanced public-private partnership.
- HAL and the private sector are playing a key role in strengthening the armed forces with the latest platforms and technologies. HAL had placed orders with various Indian private companies such as L&T, Alpha Tocol Engineering Services, Tata Advanced Systems Ltd, VEM Technologies and Lakshmi Mission Works for supplying major modules for the Tejas Mark-1A fighters.
2369. Double-decker Mira Road flyover inaugurated in maharashta
- On 9 march 2025 Road connectivity in Mira Bhayander got a boost with the inauguration of a crucial double-decker flyover , who was accompanied by transport minister .
- The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) initiative, the double-decker flyover extends from Sai Baba Nagar Metro Station near S.K. Stone Junction to Shivar Garden. the metro corridor is constructed above this road flyover which is part of Metro-9 line connecting Dahisar East to Mira Bhayander.
- The 17-metre-wide carriageway provides 2+2 lanes for smooth traffic flow with road safety measures like RCC anti-crash barriers, reflective signage, lane markings, and speed limit indicators for seamless navigation in place

2370. MSRDC secures $2.5 bn funding commitments for Mumbai's ring road project
- On 10 march 2025 India’s Maharashtra state has obtained Rs 21,500 crore ($2.5 billion) worth of funding commitments from lenders for a road project near Mumbai .
- The new road, part of an ambitious infrastructure makeover of the world’s densest metropolitan region, is intended to reduce traffic congestion near Mumbai and improve road quality.
- The Rural Electrification Corporation Ltd., National Bank for Financing Infrastructure and Development, and India Infrastructure Finance Company Ltd. are the largest lenders on the deal, said the people. They have agreed to lend Rs 10,000 crore, Rs 3,000 crore .
