2251. BHEL partners with Adani Energy Solutions for 6,000 MW HVDC Bhadla-Fatehpur transmission project
- On 3 april 2025, it was reported that, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has entered into a partnership with Rajasthan Part I Power Transmission Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Adani Energy Solutions Limited (AESL),
- The joint venture will see the development of a 6,000 MW, ±800 kV high-voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission system that will transport renewable energy from Bhadla in Rajasthan to Fatehpur, Uttar Pradesh, with completion expected by 2029.
- The project is a crucial step towards meeting India’s goal of achieving 500 GW of renewable energy by 2030 and demonstrates BHEL's continued commitment to India's energy infrastructure and the Make in India initiative, said BHEL.
2252. Indian Railways installs 2,249 solar power plants, expands renewable energy initiative
- On 2 April 2025 Indian Railways has achieved a significant milestone in its commitment to renewable energy by installing 2,249 solar power plants at railway stations and service buildings across the country .
- Indian Railways has installed 1,489 solar units, which is 2.3 times more than the 628 units installed in the preceding five years. Rajasthan has emerged as the leading state in this initiative, with 275 installations, the highest among all states and Union Territories.
- Indian Railways is progressively procuring renewable energy through various power procurement models. One of these models includes Round The Clock power, a hybrid solution that integrates solar and wind energy. Most solar plants are set up under the Power Purchase Agreement in developer mode.
2253. ISRO initiates process for space surveillance centre in Assam
- ON 3 April 2025 Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) chairman Dr V. Narayanan and his team today visited the site for the setting up of a state-of-the-art space surveillance project called Network of Space Object Tracking and Analysis (NETRA) centre at Chandrapur on the outskirts of Guwahati.
- The first of its kind in the country. The state government is ready to provide all logistical support for this centre.
- The inspection of the site, ISRO chairman said that a highly powerful and advanced radar system would be established at the NETRA project site within in 2025 .

- On April 01 , 2020 In the financial year 2019-20, India's defense exports amounted to ₹9,115 crore (approximately $1.2 billion) in slight decrease from the previous year (2018-19), where exports were ₹10,745 crore.
- Despite this dip, the overall trend in subsequent years shows a significant increase in defense exports, reflecting India's growing emphasis on indigenous defense production and export promotion.
