2311. Assam secures JPY 3.58 billion from Japan for aquaculture and livelihood boost
- On 29 March,2025,It was reported that, In a major push to Assam’s fisheries sector, the Government of Japan has extended financial support of JPY 3.58 billion under its Official Development Assistance (ODA) program to boost aquaculture and improve rural livelihoods in the state.
- The Assam State Aquaculture Promotion & Livelihood Improvement Project aims to enhance fish production, strengthen the fisheries supply chain, and empower rural stakeholders
- The initiative will also improve the institutional capacity of Assam’s fisheries department, ensuring long-term sustainability and economic upliftment for fish farmers. This is part of a broader JPY 191.736 billion loan agreement signed between India and Japan, covering six key development projects.
2312. Tejas Networks receives Rs 189 crore as PLI incentive for FY25
- On 29 March,2025, "Tejas Networks Ltd received an amount of Rs 189.1657 crore from the Ministry of Communications, Department of Telecommunications, New Delhi under the Production Linked Incentive (pli) Scheme for Telecom and Networking Products.
- The incentive is a part of the Centre's initiative to promote domestic manufacturing and strengthen India's telecom infrastructure.
- Tejas Networks produces optical and data networking products. It designs, develops and sells high-performance and cost-competitive networking products to telecommunications service providers, internet service providers, utilities, defence and government entities in more than 75 countries.

2313. India's Largest Solar Cell Manufacturing Gigafactory Inaugurated In Gujarat's Chikhali—What You Need To Know
- On 29 March,2025, India's largest solar cell manufacturing gigafactory facility has been inaugurated in Gujarat's Chikhali.
- The state-of-the-art 5.4 GW solar cell manufacturing facility of Warree Energy was inaugurated by Union Minister of New and Renewable Energy Pralhad Joshi. The facility is spread across 150 acres with a built-up area of 101 acres.
- In 2014, the production of Solar Cells and Wafers did not exist, but today India has 25 GW of cells and 2 GW of Wafers produces. The minister expressed confidence that the production of solar modules will skyrocket and reach 150 GW by 2030.
2314. Redevelopment of 60 Northeast railway stations begins under 'Amrit Bharat'
- On March 29, 2025, the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme (ABSS) has initiated redevelopment work in 60 railway stations across the Northeast region.

2315. JK Power Department Records Rs 16,974 Crore Revenue in Five Years
- On March 29, 2025, official data revealed that the Jammu and Kashmir Power Development Department (JKPDD) has recorded a nearly 250% increase in revenue over the past five financial years. Total revenue collected: Rs 16,974 crore (since 2019-20).
- Kashmir Power Development Corporation Limited (KPDCL): 176% revenue increase over five years. Jammu Power Development Corporation Limited (JPDCL): 73.58% revenue increase over the same period. Total revenue collected (2019-24): JPDCL: Rs 8,906.31 crore KPDCL: Rs 8,068 crore
- The JKPDD has seen a massive surge in revenue generation, marking significant progress in electricity bill collection and efficiency improvements. However, high AT&C losses remain a major concern, particularly for KPDCL. Continued reforms in power infrastructure and loss reduction measures will be crucial for sustaining this growth.
2316. Cabinet clears Rs 23k-cr scheme for electronic components, targets 92k jobs
- On 28 March,2025, The Union Cabinet cleared a Rs 22,919 crore incentive scheme for manufacturing electronic components, spread over a period of six years. The scheme aims to deepen India’s presence in global value chains, while increasing domestic value addition in the country.
- The government is hoping that at least 91,600 direct jobs will be created as part of the scheme, and has tied participating entities’ yearly subsidies to the number of jobs they create.
- The components incentive scheme is a crucial next step as the PLI scheme for smartphone manufacturing is nearing its sunset. The scheme is expected to generate production of Rs 4.56 lakh crore and bring in incremental investment of Rs 59,350 crore.
2317. Redevelopment of 60 railway stations under Amrit Bharat scheme begin in North East
- On 29 March, 2025. It was reported that, Under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, redevelopment works are underway in 60 railway stations across the North East. Of these, 50 railway stations in Assam have been selected.
- In North East, a total of 60 stations are being redeveloped as part of this project. In Assam, 50 stations have been selected, and these are getting redeveloped. CPRO of Northeast Frontier Railway, told ANI that the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme is a scheme for redeveloping stations across India.
- According to the Northeast Frontier Railway, the redevelopment is set to bring significant upgrades, with an estimated investment of Rs 30.95 crore for Narengi, Rs 31.18 crore for Jagiroad, Rs 31.87 crore for Chaparmukh and Rs 14.94 crore for Haibargaon.

- On 28, March,2025, The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), chaired by Prime Minister approved the construction of a 4-lane access-controlled highway connecting Patna, Arrah, and Sasaram in Bihar. The ₹3,712.40 crore project aims to decongest existing state highways and improve regional connectivity.
- eveloped under the Hybrid Annuity Mode (HAM), the 120-km Patna-Arrah-Sasaram corridor will be a mix of greenfield and brownfield development, with 10.6 km of existing roads upgraded.
- The highway will integrate with National Highways NH-19, NH-319, NH-922, NH-131G, and NH-120, improving connectivity to Aurangabad, Kaimur, and Patna.

2319. Nitin Gadkari approves ₹1,237.71 crore two-lane highway in Rajasthan
- Union Road Transport and Highways Minister had approved ₹1,237.71 crore, to construction of a two-lane highway in Rajasthan's Jaisalmer and Barmer districts, near the India-Pakistan border,
- 'Strengthening/widening of existing connection of NH-70 and NH-11 (total length 134.86 km) in Jaisalmer and Barmer districts of Rajasthan as well as strengthening and widening of Myajlar-Jaisalmer section of NH-11 and Sundara-Myajlar-Ambasingh Ki Dhani Road portion of the Munabao-Tanot to two-lane.
- 'The proposed alignment will establish connectivity with NH-25 and NH-68, and will also connect with NH-70, thereby further enhancing the regional transport network.

2320. UPPCL Awards 2,000 MW Solar Projects At Competitive Tariffs, NTPC And Adani Among Top Winners
- UPPCL has successfully completed an auction for 2,000 MW of solar power projects, allowing developers to set up projects anywhere in India. The auction resulted in a highly competitive tariff, with the lowest discovered rate at ₹2.56 per kWh.
- A total of 2 GW capacity was awarded to four companies. NTPC REL secured the largest share, winning 1,000 MW at ₹2.56 per kWh. Adani Renewable Energy Holding Twelve, a subsidiary of Adani Green Energy, won 400 MW at ₹2.57 per kWh. ReNew Solar was allocated 300 MW at ₹2.56 per kWh, while Fastnote Biofuels secured 300 MW at ₹2.57 per kWh. With these bids, the entire 2,000 MW capacity was successfully allotted.
- UPPCL had invited competitive bids for solar and storage projects, allowing developers to benefit from financial incentives such as accelerated depreciation, tax holidays, and reduced duties.
