23461. Kotak Mahindra Bank's consolidated net profit up 1.4% YoY in Q2
- Private sector lender Kotak Mahindra Bank reported a 1.43 per cent year-on-year (YoY) increase in consolidated net profit in the July-September quarter (Q2) of FY22.
- Its net profit for the quarter stood at Rs 2,989 crore compared to Rs 2,947 crore in the year-ago quarter, and was ahead of consensus estimates. Sequentially, the profit is up 65.5 per cent.
- the bank’s advances grew by 8 per cent sequentially and 14.7 per cent YoY to Rs 2.35 trillion.

23462. JSW Group to set up Rs 150-crore steel unit in J&K
- Steel sandwich panels and steel doors will be manufactured at the unit for the local market in Jammu and Kashmir.
- JSW Group on Monday said it will invest Rs 150 crore to set up a 1.2 lakh metric tonne color coated steel manufacturing facility in Jammu and Kashmir.
- JSW Steel is the flagship business of the diversified USD 13 billion JSW Group. The company has an integrated steel making capacity of 27 million tonne in India, and steel products like hot rolled, cold rolled, bare, TMT, wire rods and special steel etc

23463. गडकरी जौनपुर को देंगे 573 करोड़ की योजनाओं की सौगात
- केन्द्रीय परिवहन मंत्री नितिन गडकरी सोमवार को पूर्वी उत्तर प्रदेश के जौनपुर में 573 करोड़ 36 लाख रुपये की परियोजनाओं का लोकार्पण और शिलान्यास करेंगे।
- मुख्यमंत्री योगी आदित्यनाथ और केंद्रीय मंत्री नितिन गडकरी विकास कार्यों से जुड़े 573.36 करोड़ की परियोजनाओं का उद्घाटन और शिलान्यास करेंगे इसमें 442.66 करोड़ रुपए का शिलान्यास करेंगे।
- इसके अलावा 130.70 करोड़ रुपये की लागत से विकास कार्यों से जुड़ी परियोजनाओं का लोकार्पण करेंगे। मंत्री 27 करोड़ रुपये की लागत से जौनपुर में राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग संख्या-128 पर ब्रिज के निर्माण के कार्य का शिलान्यास करेंगे।
23464. CM Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated IT park in Kokrajhar
- Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma in presence of Union Minister of State for Textile & Railways Darshana Vikram Jardosh and BTR CEM Pramod Boro inaugurated the newly constructed Information Technology (IT) park at Elaishijhar, Chandamari near Kokrajhar.
- Beautifully designed in the shape of a ship, the five-storeyed IT park with fully functional IT infrastructure has the facilities for online examination, digital India office, training room, auditorium hall, digital library, multimedia office, build-in space on lease, cafeteria etc.
- The IT park was constructed at a cost of Rs 34 crores.

23466. छत्तीसगढ़: सोशल वर्कर ने किया बैम्बू साइकिल का आविष्कार ताकि आदिवासियों को मिले रोज़गार
- छत्तीसगढ़ के बस्तर इलाके का नाम सुनते ही, हमारे दिमाग में नक्सलवाद और हिंसा की तस्वीरें बनती हैं। लेकिन यह इलाका अपनी हस्तकला के लिए भी देश भर में मशहूर है। इस इलाके में बैम्बू से ढेर सारे प्रोडक्ट बनाए जाते हैं। यहां के कलाकारों के लिए 30 वर्षीय आसिफ खान ने एक अनोखी पहल की है। उन्होंने एक स्टार्टअप की शुरुआत की है, जो स्थानीय कलाकारों को अपने प्रोडक्ट्स बेचने के लिए एक मंच देता है।
- आसिफ ने 2019 में नौकरी छोड़कर इस क्षेत्र में कदम रखा। छह साल तक सोशल सर्विस सेक्टर में काम करने के बाद उन्होंने Naturescape नाम से स्टार्टअप की शुरुआत की। फिलहाल वह चार आदिवासी परिवारों से जुड़कर काम कर रहे हैं। स्थानीय कलाकारों की मदद से उन्होंने बैम्बू से एक ईको-फ्रैंडली साइकिल तैयार किया है, जिसका नाम ‘बैम्बूका’ रखा है। इस साइकिल में स्थानीय बैम्बू का इस्तेमाल किया गया है। इस सोच के पीछे उनका उदेश्य कलाकारों को रोजगार का अवसर देना था।
- आसिफ का कहना है कि देश में प्लास्टिक का उपयोग बढ़ने पर बैम्बू से बनते छोटे-छोटे कई प्रोडक्ट्स अब बनने बंद हो गए हैं। इससे यहां के लोगों का रोजगार भी प्रभावित हुआ है। ऐसे में उन्हें उम्मीद है कि बांस से बनी इस साइकिल के जरिए एक बार फिर से बस्तर के कारीगरों को काम मिलने लगेगा। फ़िलहाल उन्होंने दो बैम्बू साइकिल बनाई हैं। जिसे वह रायपुर और दिल्ली में आयोजित प्रदर्शनियों में प्रदर्शित भी कर चुके हैं। वहीं उन्होंने कहा कि उनके पास अभी आठ कारीगर मौजूद हैं, जो बैम्बू साइकिल बना रहे हैं।
- वहीं कीमत की बात करें तो फ़िलहाल यह ग्राहकों को 35000 रुपये में उपलब्ध हो रही है। आसिफ ने बताया, “इसे बनाने में कलाकारों की मेहनत और कच्चे माल को ध्यान में रखकर ही कीमत तय की गई है, जो बिलकुल भी ज्यादा नहीं है। इसे तैयार करने में कारीगरों को 12 से 15 दिन लगते हैं।”

- Pankaj Mahajan from Maharashtra was only in Class 4 when he started chewing tobacco and smoking beedi. His future seemed dismal until football rescued him. With an alcoholic father and a disabled mother in the house, Pankaj dropped out of school to earn a living. He did not see a future for himself until his mother was severely hurt in 2011.
- As a coach, Pankaj has also spread social messages among the girls under ‘Shakti Girls’ project across 25 villages. He uses football exercises and techniques to educate the girls on menstrual hygiene, education, gender equality, etc, something that he was learning just a couple of years ago.
- Pankaj has come a long way from battling an addiction to now making a difference in other children’s lives. He is currently pursuing his Bachelor of Arts from Indira Gandhi National Open University and he will for the first time attempt to write the paper in English.
23468. Railways starts to run 4 Rajdhani Express trains with new upgraded Tejas Rakes
- Indian Railways has introduced a new era of train travel experience with enhanced comfort with the conversion of Rajdhani Express coaches with new upgraded Tejas Trains
- Currently, Railways is operating four Rajdhani Trains with Tejas Sleeper Coaches. The introduction of this modern Tejas Sleeper type train for long-distance journey is another paradigm shift by Indian Railways for enhancing the travel experience for the passengers.
- AIR correspondent reports that the first Rajdhani upgraded with Tejas rake was introduced in July this year by Western Railway on the Delhi-Mumbai route.
23469. 142 crore 73 lakh vaccine doses provided to states, UTs so far
- more than 142 crore 73 lakh COVID vaccine doses have been provided to States and Union Territories so far.
- As part of the Nationwide Vaccination Drive, government has been supporting the States and UTs by providing them COVID vaccines free of cost.
- Health Ministry today said that over 16 crore 66 lakh unutilized vaccine doses are still available with the States and UTs to be administered.
23470. Nuclear capable ballistic missile Agni P successfully tested off Odisha coast
- Agni P is a new generation advanced variant of the Agni class of missiles with range capability between 1,000 and 2,000-km
- The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) conducted the test from Dr APJ Abdul Kalam island off the coast of Odisha, the Ministry of Defence said. The first successful test had been carried out from the same place on June 28 this year. Agni P is a new generation advanced variant of the Agni class of missiles with range capability between 1,000 and 2,000-km
- The ballistic missile weighs 50 percent less than Agni III and has new guidance and a new generation of propulsion. Since the missile is canisterised, it can be launched from rail and road and stored for a longer period and transported all across the country as per operational requirements.
