35. Longest ever kill in military history’: Air Force showcases S-400 intercept | Watch

36. DRDO conducts successful flight-trials of Very Short-Range Air Defence System
- On February 27, 2026, the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) conducted three successful flight trials of the Very Short-Range Air Defence System (VSHORADS) at the Integrated Test Range (ITR), Chandipur off the coast of Odisha, to validate its capability against aerial threats.
- The DRDO, along with field operators, conducted the tests in the system’s final deployment configuration, where target acquisition and missile firing were performed operationally, intercepting and destroying high-speed aerial targets mimicking enemy aircraft.
- VSHORADS is an indigenously developed, man-portable air defence system suitable for the Army, Navy, and Air Force; data from telemetry, electro-optical tracking, and radar validated effectiveness, and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said it could soon be inducted.
37. Bogibeel Bridge: Modi opens India's longest rail-cum-road bridge, a Rs 5,900 crore engineering marvel
- Prime Minister has inaugurated the Bogibeel Bridge, India's longest rail-road bridge, on the birth anniversary of the late Atal Bihari Vajpayee -- December 25 -- observed as "Good Governance Day" by the Centre.
- The bridge connects the south bank of the Brahmaputra river in Assam's Dibrugarh district with Silapathar in Dhemaji district, bordering Arunachal Pradesh. The Bogibeel Bridge reduces travel time from Assam to Arunachal Pradesh to four hours and will cut out a detour of over 170 km via Tinsukia.
- Constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 5,900 crore, Asia's second-longest rail-road bridge is part of infrastructure projects planned to improve logistics along the border in Arunachal Pradesh. It will also reduce the train travel time between Delhi and Dibrugarh by about three hours.

38. Indian Railways’ connectivity boost in Northeast! First Janshatabdi Express between Manipur-Tripura introduced
- Indian Railways’ connectivity boost in Northeast: The first Janshatabdi express train connecting the northeastern states of Manipur and Tripura via Assam was flagged off on January 8, 2022.
- With the introduction of the Jiribam – Agartala – Jiribam Express, the long-standing demand of the people of Manipur, Tripura and South Assam was fulfilled.
- According to the Railway Ministry, rail journey by Jiribam – Agartala – Jiribam Janshatabdi Express will cut down the travel duration by half as the time of train journey will be around six hours, covering a distance of 300 Kilometres against approx. 12 hours time it takes to go by road.
- There was no direct train between the northeastern states of Manipur and Tripura and only one train runs in the morning hours between Agartala and Silchar.

39. First goods train chugs into Manipur 75 years after independence
- A freight train chugged into the Rani Gaidinliu Railway Station in Goinanglong of Tamenglong district, thereby putting Manipur on the country’s railway map.
- The train arrived as part of the Jiribam-Imphal railway project with the station renamed in honour of freedom fighter Rani Gaidinliu.
- The new rail link enables faster and more affordable movement of goods, improves access to markets for local businesses, reduces reliance on road transport, lowers traffic congestion, generates employment.

40. Nagaland Gets Its 2nd Railway Station After A Gap Of Over 100 Years
- Nagaland on Friday got its second railway station after a gap of more than 100 years with the commissioning of a new facility at Shokhuvi.
- Dimapur Railway Station, in the heart of the commercial hub of the state, was inaugurated in 1903. Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh will be directly connected by train service with the extension of Donyi Polo Express till Shokhuvi Railway Station.
- The Donyi Polo Express ran daily between Guwahati in Assam and Naharlagun in Arunachal Pradesh. The train service has now been extended till Shokhuvi, a few kilometers from Dimapur.
