21161. J&K's carpet export value to cross Rs 2,000 crore in 5 years: LG
- Jammu and Kashmir Lt Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday said new policies and the decisions taken by his administration will help carpet exports from the union territory to cross Rs 2,000 crore in five years.
- "We have launched the first-of-its-kind QR code-based mechanism for certification and labelling of handmade carpets of J&K.
- New policies and decisions of the government will also take J&K's carpet exports to Rs 1,000 crore in three years and it will cross Rs 2,000 crore in five years from now,' Sinha told reporters here.

21163. 109 projects in Jammu completed at cost of Rs. 455 crore: LG Sinha
- Laying the foundation stone for the Tawi Riverfront Development Project on Saturday, Jammu & Kashmir Lt Governor Manoj Sinha said planned urbanisation while respecting and restoring the delicate balance of nature can promote inclusive development more efficiently and effectively.
- The Lt Governor said that 109 projects that have been pending for years have been completed in the Jammu division at a cost of Rs.455 crore, including 14 new bridges which have made connectivity easier. Infrastructural projects like the Metro, the Delhi-Katra-Amritsar Expressway, the four-lane green field Jammu Ring Road, flyovers, industrial estates, strengthening of the power sector and many others would bring prosperity for all.
- Observing that historically civilisations have prospered on the banks of rivers, Sinha said that the “Sustenance and rejuvenation of the Tawi riverfront will create not only an economic engine for the holy city, but also generate employment opportunities for local communities."
21164. 1st 'Made-In-India' Aircraft Carrier To Be Commissioned Next Year: Rajnath Singh
- The Carrier also known as the Indigenous Aircraft Carrier 1 or IAC-1 will be christened INS Vikrant on commissioning. The aircraft is built at a cost of over Rs 24,000-crore.
- The basic design of the indigenous aircraft carrier was done by the Indian Navy's Directorate of Naval Design, which was developed into a detailed design by the design team of CSL.
- The ship has a length of over 260 metres and breadth of 60 metres. It has two take-off runways and a landing strip with three arrester wires, capable of operating STOBAR aircraft including the indigenous LCA, as well as a range of helicopters with hangar facilities.
21165. Jammu & Kashmir: Centre launches first free telemedicine service in Kathua
- The Centre has launched a free telemedicine service in the ambulance, 'Doctor on wheels' in Jammu and Kashmir. Union Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) Jitendra Singh flagged of first free telemedicine service in the Kathua district.
- The ambulance is equipped with the latest lab technology and can connect patients with senior doctors in Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Surat, and Ahmedabad
- The free telemedicine service was first launched in Doda. It has now been expanded to Kathua
21166. ONGC commits to Rs 30,000 crore procurement
- ONGC said it will procure equipment and services worth over Rs 30,000 crore to support its oil and gas exploration and production operations, which will provide local entities business and support 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat' initiative.
- ONGC shared details on various initiatives such as the introduction of a new development order policy, introduction of online vendor invoice management system, encouragement towards startups, as well as promoting its efforts to encourage indigenous business partners.
- ONGC is adopting technology-enabled processes that can improve transparency, and minimise human intervention.

21167. दिल्ली मेट्रो फेज 4 का कार्य स्वदेशी सॉफ्टवेयर के जरिये डिजिटल रूप से किया जाएगा मॉनिटर
- दिल्ली मेट्रो रेल कॉपोर्रेशन ने इंटीग्रेटेड प्रोजेक्ट मॉनिटरिंग सॉफ्टवेयर (IPMS)को डेवलप किया है जो पूर्ण रूप से स्वदेशी है। यह एक कस्टम-मेड प्रोजेक्ट मॉनिटरिंग सॉफ्टवेयर है जिससे डीएमआरसी अपने फेज-4 के कॉरिडोर तथा पटना मेट्रो के कार्यों की प्रगति को मॉनिटर कर सकेगी।
- इस सॉफ्टवेयर के माध्यम से, प्रोजेक्ट प्लानिंग के सभी चरणों तथा प्रत्येक कॉरिडोर के रेवेन्यू ऑपरेशन तक की मॉनिटरिंग के साथ वर्क फ्रंट की उपलब्धता संबंधी मुद्दों जैसे भूमि की उपलब्धता, वृक्षारोपण तथा सेवाओं की शिफ्टिंग और डिजाइन के स्टेटस की मॉनिटरिंग भी करना संभव है।
- डीएमआरसी की यह परियोजना सरकार के डिजिटल इंडिया के साथ ही साथ आत्मनिर्भर भारत जैसे प्रयासों का एक उत्कृष्ट उदाहरण है।
21168. Andhra's Scientist Develops Automated Train Toilet Sewerage Disposal Under 'Make In India'
- The automated system is meant to ease maintenance of the oft-criticised system by installing a seven times cheaper alternative to bio-toilets.
- The Ministry of Science & Technology recently stated in an official press release that the technology has been developed by Dr. RV Krishnaiah from Chebrolu Engineering College is an automated system for collection of sewage systems from running trains and segregation of different materials for further processing into usable things. The automated system consists of a septic tank which is placed under the track i.e. train line and the top lid uncovers when a train approaches the septic tank place by using Radia Frequency Identification (RFID) sensor and reader placed at engine and septic tank position respectively.
- The sewerage material in toilet tanks is dropped into the septic tank when they are mutually synchronized. The septic tank cover gets closed only after the train deviates from the spot. The newly-introduced sewerage disposal system in Indian Railways will process the plastic and cloth materials separately in consideration of the environment for waste check measures.
21169. Timex India launches its first made-in-India smartwatch Helix 2.0; check out full details
- Timex India has partnered with Singapore-based IOT (Internet of Things) firm KaHa Pte Ltd to develop its first made-in-India smartwatch
- This new smartwatch has been produced at Timex India's "state-of-the-art" manufacturing facility located in Baddi, Himachal Pradesh
- Timex India's Baddi facility is equipped with the latest tools, technology, and skilled manpower required to manufacture smartwatches in India.
21170. India's lightest metro trainset for Pune Metro flagged off from Italy
- Titagarh Kolkata has started production of the first Made-in-India metro train for Pune Metro in its newly upgraded plant and its first train will be delivered by December this year. Delivery of all 34 trains is scheduled by March, 2024.
- Three of the 34 trains will be manufactured in Italy and the rest in India. These metro coaches are lighter (15.5T axle load) than the lightest coaches at present, which are at Nagpur-Metro (16T axle load).
- The double-walled structure with extruded sections of the car body made of Aluminium in the Metro coaches provides the required strength while reducing the weight.
