1312. New infra projects, passenger train to give fresh impetus to Gujarat's development: Western Railways
- On August 25 2025, PM inaugurated three rail projects and a passenger train service in Gujarat to strengthen regional connectivity and socio-economic growth.
- Projects reduce travel time, ease passenger traffic, improve goods movement, and boost local industries and employment in Banaskantha, Mahesana, and Gandhinagar districts.

1313. PM Modi launches ₹5,400-crore development projects in Gujarat
- On August 25, 2025 in Gujarat, Prime Minister dedicated and laid the foundation stone for development projects worth over ₹5,400 crore across railways, roads, power, housing, and urban infrastructure, including doubling, gauge conversion, and new freight and passenger railway services.

1314. IREDA inks MoU with MNRE, sets ₹8,200 crore revenue target for FY26
- On 25 August,2025 in New Delhi, IREDA signed a performance-based MoU with the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), targeting ₹8,200 crore revenue from operations for FY 2025-26, along with key performance parameters including ROE, ROCE, and EBITDA.
- The MoU aims to sustain IREDA’s strong performance in financing renewable energy projects. It ensures accountability through metrics like NPA ratio and asset turnover, promoting operational efficiency and continuing its ‘Excellent’ MoU rating achieved consecutively since FY 2020-21.
- IREDA exceeded its FY25 revenue target, achieving ₹6,743.32 crore against ₹5,957 crore. Recognized as a top performer in the NBFC and power sector, it is a mini-ratna CPSE supporting renewable energy financing across India, strengthening the country’s clean energy initiatives.
1315. PM Modi meets Fijian PM Sitiveni Rabuka in Delhi: Leaders hold delegation-level talks; cooperation announced in health, defence and climate
- Prime Minister of India On August 25, 2025 met his Fijian counterpart Sitiveni Ligamamada Rabuka at Hyderabad House and held delegation-level talks focused on expanding the India-Fiji partnership.
- The two leaders announced new initiatives in healthcare, defence, climate cooperation and cultural ties during Rabuka’s first official visit to India in his current capacity.
- Speaking at a joint press briefing, PM said India and Fiji are working together to address climate challenges. “Climate change is a critical threat for Fiji. In this context, we are working together on renewable energy, especially solar energy.
- PM unveiled a series of healthcare measures for Fiji, including a hospital project and medical support. “In today's meeting, we took many important decisions. We believe that a healthy nation can only be a prosperous nation.

1316. Govt Commits ₹211 Cr to Boost SpaceTech Startups Under FFS Scheme
- On August 25, 2025 It was reported that, The Union Government has announced an investment support of ₹211 crore (around $25 million) under the Fund of Funds for Startups (FFS) scheme, giving a major boost to India’s rapidly growing space-tech sector.
- Union Minister said the investment will empower homegrown innovators with critical resources and help position India as a rising global space power. “Guided by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, the government is committed to driving innovation, youth-led entrepreneurship, and transformative use of space technology,”
- India’s space-tech sector is witnessing unprecedented momentum, with over 350 startups now active in the field. The country’s space budget has also nearly tripled in the past decade, from ₹5,615 crore in FY14 to ₹13,416 crore in FY26.

1317. Union Minister Pabitra Margherita opens Eri-Spun Silk Mill in Kokrajhar
- Union Minister of State for External Affairs and Sericulture formally inaugurated the Eri-spun silk mill at Bodoland Silk Park, Adabari, Kokrajhar, on August 24. 2025 in the presence of the BTC Chief, MP, BTC EM, and the Secretary of Sericulture.
- Union Minister said that at least 42, 000 families of BTC were involved with sericulture and that Bodoland had the highest number of weavers with over 3 lakhs.
- Minister also said that Assam was the 3rd largest eri-silk producing state in India contributing over 70 percent of eri-silk production and that Bodoland was the most emerging producer in Assam.
- Over 200 crore rupees have been released by the Central Silk Board and Development Commissioner to BTC to develop the Sericulture sector and Eri-Spun Mill is one of its initiatives.

1318. Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma Lays Foundation Stone For PM Ekta Mall In Aizawl
- On August, 25 2025, Mizoram Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for the PM Ekta Mall (Unity Mall) at Chawnpui, Aizawl. The project, sanctioned under SASCI 2023–24 with a cost of ₹127 crore, will be constructed at the designated site in Chawnpui.
- The Chief Minister stated that the PM Ekta Mall is a centrally sponsored initiative under SASCI Part 6 (2023–24), envisioned as a hub for showcasing India’s diverse handicrafts, One District One Product (ODOP), Geographical Indication (GI) products, and other locally made items.
- The Aizawl Unity Mall will house 47 stalls – including 36 stalls for States and Union Territories and 11 stalls for Mizoram’s districts. It will also feature a Food Court, Restaurants, Children’s Play Area, Gaming Arcade, Meeting Hall, Movie Theatre, Retail Kiosks, and other facilities.

1319. Arunachal CM Khandu Launches E-Bhavishya To Streamline Pension Payments
- Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister On 25 August, 2025 launched e-Bhavishya, a digital platform by the Arunachal Pradesh government aimed at ensuring timely and transparent pension disbursement for state employees.
- CM said the initiative demonstrates the government’s commitment to honoring the service of its employees by ensuring that retirement benefits are delivered without delay.
- Under e-Bhavishya, pension payment orders will be issued on the exact day of an employee’s retirement, eliminating procedural delays that previously caused inconvenience to pensioners.

1320. Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Lays Foundation Stone For Three National Highway Projects In Madhya Pradesh To Boost Road Safety, Connectivity
- Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways laid the foundation stone for three major National Highway (NH) projects in Madhya Pradesh on 24 August, 2025.
- The first project involves the four-laning of the 17.87 km Amazhar–Barela Road (Jabalpur Ring Road). The second project focuses on the construction of seven underpasses along the Rewa–Maihar–Katni section of NH-30. The third project covers the construction of six flyovers and underpasses on the Katni–Jabalpur–Lakhnadon section of NH-30/34.
- The Ministry said these projects, under the 'Pragati Ka Highway' initiative, are expected to provide safer, faster, and smoother travel for commuters and commercial traffic in Madhya Pradesh.
