2581. PSLV-C38 succesfully sends 31 satellites into space; check out pics
- On 23 June, 2017, ISRO's PSLV-38 today lifts off from the Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota carrying earth observation satellite Cartosat-2 series along with 30 co-passenger satellites of various countries weighing 955 kg
- The co-passenger satellites includes a nano satellite designed by the Noorul Islam University in Kanyakumari district of Tamil Nadu and the other 29 nano satellites are from 14 countries namely Austria, Belgium, Chile, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Slovakia, the United Kingdom and the United States of America.
- The latest remote sensing satellite has a resolution of 0.6 metres, which means it can spot even smaller objects

2582. ISRO's PSLV-C40 successfully places Cartosat-2 in orbit: 10 facts
- On 12 January, 2018, The space agency ISRO today achieved a major milestone with the launch of its 100th satellite Cartosat-2 along with 30 others in a Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) from its spaceport of Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh.
- The PSLV carries 30 satellites that include two satellites from India and 28 satellites from six countries -- Canada, Finland, France, Korea, the United Kingdom and the United States.
- Among the satellites that the PSLV is carrying is India's 100th satellite, Cartosat 2 -- a surveillance satellite.

2583. What is ISRO’s PSLV-C42 mission?
- On 16 September, 2018, PSLV-C42 or Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle-C42 of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) launched two satellites of the United Kingdom from Sriharikota
- The mission entailed launching satellites — NovaSAR and S1-4 — into ‘Sun Synchronous Orbit’. The satellites launched into this orbit are usually used for imaging, reconnaissance and weather forecasts.
- The PSLV-C42 rose into the skies at 10.08 p.m and injected the satellites into orbit 17 minutes and 45 seconds after lift-off, placing them in the sun-synchronous orbit 583 km from the earth’s surface

2585. Kashmir's handicraft and handloom exports stood at Rs 2,567 crore
- On February 23, 2025, officials confirmed Rs 2,567 crore worth of exports in the last two financial years, with expectations to reach Rs 3,000 crore by March 2025 despite global conflicts.

2586. India's First Biopolymer Manufacturing Plant To Be Set Up In Uttar Pradesh With An Investment Of Rs 2,850 Crore
- On 22 February 2025, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath laid the foundation for India's first biopolymer manufacturing unit in Kumbhi, Lakhimpur Kheri, which will produce eco-friendly alternatives to single-use plastics, with an investment of Rs 2,850 crore.
- The plant, owned by BalrampurChini Mills Ltd (BCML), will contribute to India's net zero emissions target, support the 'Make in India' initiative, and reduce environmental pollution by producing biodegradable items like cups, plates, and straws from Polylactic Acid (PLA).
- The facility, set to begin operations by December 2026, will focus on converting sugar into PLA. Technological advancements are expected to make the process more cost-effective, with an initial production capacity of 80,000 tonnes.

- RailTel Corporation has been awarded the Kavach tender for 71 stations in the Danapur and Sonpur divisions of East Central Railway, valued at Rs 288 crore, to enhance railway safety and operational efficiency.
- Kavach is an indigenous Train Collision Avoidance System (TCAS) developed by Indian Railways, designed to prevent accidents by providing real-time alerts and automatic braking in case of signal violations or overspeeding.

2588. ISRO’s Mars Lander Mission Approved: India Aims To Land On The Red Planet
- The Space Commission has approved India’s Mars Lander Mission (MLM), also called Mangalyaan-2, with final approval pending from the Union Cabinet. This mission aims to land a spacecraft on Mars, making India the fourth country to do so.
- Following the success of the Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM), ISRO plans to deploy a lander and rover for deeper study of Mars' surface and atmosphere, advancing India’s planetary exploration capabilities.

2590. Reliance Consumer Products sets up new Campa bottling plant in Guwahati
- On February 22, 2025, Reliance Consumer Products Ltd (RCPL), in collaboration with Jericho Foods, inaugurated a 6 lakh sq. ft. Campa bottling plant in Guwahati, producing 10+ crore liters of soft drinks and 18 crore liters of packaged water annually. It is also being that it will provide employment to 1,300 youth of the state.
