- डालमिया सीमेंट (भारत) लि. ने अपने पश्चिम बंगाल संयंत्र की क्षमता 360 करोड़ रुपये के निवेश से 23 लाख टन बढ़ाने की घोषणा की है।
- पश्चिम मेदिनीपुर जिले के संयंत्र की क्षमता बढ़कर 40 लाख टन सालाना हो जाएगी
- पश्चिम बंगाल संयंत्र में क्षमता विस्तार से कंपनी की कुल क्षमता बढ़कर 2.9 करोड़ टन वार्षिक हो जाएगी। कंपनी का इरादा 2021-22 की तीसरी तिमाही में इसे 3.4 करोड़ टन करने का है।

23343. PE investment in Indian real estate to grow 30 per cent in 2021: Report
- Private equity investment in the Indian real estate sector is likely to recover and hit the $6 billion-mark next year, registering a year-on-year growth of 30 per cent, according to a report by Savills India.
- It said that PE investment in real estate in 2020 is expected to contract at $4.6 billion due to decline in economic activity, adding that investors are likely to adapt themselves in the altered world order and steadily return to the market with evolved strategies.

23344. ‘India, US need healthcare tie-up beyond Covid-19’
- India and the US will require a partnership on healthcare that goes beyond Covid-19 and addresses intellectual property, pricing and market access issues, said Nisha Biswal, President, US India Business Council (USIBC)

23345. India to become fifth-largest economy in 2025: think tank
- India, which appears to have been pushed back to being the world’s sixth-biggest economy in 2020, will again overtake the U.K. to become the fifth-largest in 2025 and race to the third spot by 2030, a think tank said .
- Centre for Economics and Business Research (CEBR) forecast that the Indian economy would expand by 9% in 2021 and by 7% in 2022. “Growth will naturally slow as India becomes more economically developed, with annual GDP growth expected to sink to 5.8% in 2035.”
- Indian would overtake “Germany in 2027 and Japan in 2030,” it said. The U.K.-based think tank forecast that China would overtake the U.S. to become the world’s biggest economy in 2028,.

23347. India to send 25,000 vaccines to Palestinians amid global shortage
- The Palestinian Authority is slated to receive 25,000 doses of the Oxford-AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine from India as it scrambles to inoculate its population amid a global shortage.
- The PA has received some 32,000 doses for the West Bank and Gaza Strip. Its fledgling program has been plagued by a lack of funds and an absence of available vaccines.

23348. Sri Lanka receives 500,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines from India
- Sri Lanka on Thursday received 500,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines ordered from India.
- India gifted 500,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine which kicked off Sri Lanka’s vaccine rollout in late January. The vaccines were given to the frontline workers and the security personnel.
- The government has placed an order for 10 million doses of AstraZeneca vaccine from the Serum Institute of India at a cost of USD 52.5 million and a further 3.5 million doses directly from AstraZeneca Institute of UK under the COVAX programme.

23349. Canada Gives Nod To AstraZeneca Covid-19 Vaccine
- Regulators in Canada approved the use of the COVID-19 vaccine from AstraZeneca, clearing the way for millions of more inoculations in the country. MEA spokesperson Anurag Srivastava had said last month that New Delhi plans to supply 10 million vaccine doses to Africa and 10 lakh to United Nations health workers under GAVI's (Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunisation) COVAX facility.
- He said supplies of the Oxford-AstraZeneca 'Covishield' vaccine, made by Serum Institute of India, on commercial basis are likely to take place to Canada, Saudi Arabia, South Africa and Mongolia.
- According to the Ministry of External Affairs, India has despatched a total of 361.94 lakh vaccine doses to various countries. Srivastava said that the total includes, 67.5 lakh doses supplied under grant assistance 294.44 lakh doses under various commercial contracts.
23350. COVID-19: Brazil Signs Deal With India's Bharat Biotech For 20 Million Vaccine Doses
- Regulators Brazil’s health ministry has signed a deal with Indian pharmaceutical company Bharat Biotech for the purchase of 20 million doses of the Covaxin Vaccines. However, it is yet to be approved by the local regulators.
- According to the reports by AP, the administration of President Jair Bolsonaro said the first 8 million Covaxin shots made by Brazilian company Precisa Medicamentos will arrive in March.
- Also, another batch of 8 million doses is expected for April and in May.
