22771. Revenue of Madurai railway division in first three quarters almost doubled to Rs 510 crore, says DRM
- The revenue of Madurai railway division from April 2021 to December has climbed to Rs 510.35 crore from Rs 259.57 in the pandemic hit corresponding period in 2020.
- Revenue generated this year includes Rs 280.80 crore in passenger traffic, Rs 191.44 crore in goods traffic and Rs.38.11 crore in other coaching and sundries.
- The division has loaded 1.7558 million tonnes of cargo till December as against the previous year’s 1.6999 million tonnes. Coal loading at 0.5273 million tonnes is 63.1% more than last year

22773. India's electronic goods exports touch $1.67 billion in December 2021
- India's exports of electronic goods touched USD 1.67 Billion last month, registering a growth of 33.99% over $1.25 Bn logged in December 2020.
- During April-December 2021, the sector exports registered a growth of 49% to USD 11.0 Billion (Provisional) over USD 7.4 Billion during the same period in the year 2020.
- The overall exports of electronics goods in the last financial year was USD 11.11 Billion, and with USD 11.0 Billion exports achieved in the first three-quarters of FY2021-22, the sector is set to break all-time record highs, far exceeding the previous high of $11.7 Bn recorded in FY2019-20.

22774. Indo-Swiss firm inks MoU with Alphonso farmers of Konkan belt
- Innoterra, an Indo-Swiss food and technology platform company, has signed an MoU with Alphonso-growing farmer collectives in the Konkan belt to take the GI-tagged mangoes to consumers worldwide from the upcoming mango season.
- The farmer cooperatives and the company plan to co-invest $1 million in the initial phase of this collaboration. Through this, Innoterra plans to bring around 3,000 MT of fully traceable Alphonso mangoes to consumers in domestic as well as international markets.

22775. India’s 2021-22 sugar production to rise 2.90% to 31.9 million tonnes: AISTA
- Sugar production in India, the world’s second largest producing nation after Brazil, is estimated to increase by 2.90 per cent to 31.9 million tonnes in the ongoing 2021-22 marketing year, according to the first estimate released by the trade body All India Sugar Trade Association (AISTA).

22776. ReNew Power sells rooftop portfolio for Rs 672 crore, sets sights on larger projects
- NASDAQ-listed ReNew Power will exit the rooftop solar business by selling its portfolio of 117 megawatts (mw) to Fourth Partner Energy for an enterprise value of Rs 672 crore, the Sumant Sinha-led company said
- ReNew had a total capacity of approximately 10.3 gigawatts (GW) of renewable energy projects across India, including commissioned and committed projects. The company has earlier given guidance of 8.2 GW of operational capacity by financial year 2021-22 as against around 6,315 mw now.
- India has revised its clean energy target and it now aims to build 500 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030.
22777. First fibre glass composite gas cylinder in Nagaland launched
- In a first in Nagaland, a fibre glass composite gas cylinder was formally launched at M/S Seyie Gas Service, D Block, Kohima on January 27.
- The new fibre-made composite cylinders, available in 5 and 10 kg sizes, are lighter and easier to handle compared to the existing steel cylinders and it come with various safety measures.
- The composite cylinder has a three-layered construction - a blow-molded High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) inner liner, covered with a composite layer of polymer-wrapped fibre glass and fitted with a HDPE outer jacket.
