161. ₹913.7 crore approved for six-lane flyover over Panchaganga
- On 12 February 2026, Union highway minister said ₹913.7 crore was approved for constructing a 3.578 km six-lane elevated flyover over the Panchaganga river on the Pune-Bengaluru stretch of National Highway 48 in Kolhapur, Maharashtra.
- The project aimed to prevent highway traffic disruptions during frequent floods in the low-lying Panchaganga area and ensure smooth movement on the NH-48 corridor. It includes a six-lane cement service road, the Gandhinagar junction, and two underpasses across railway lines.
- NH-48 connects Delhi to Chennai via Mumbai, Pune and Bengaluru. Gadkari shared the approval on X (formerly Twitter) with hashtags like #PragatiKaHighway and #GatiShakti, tagging Prime Minister Narendra Modi and key Maharashtra leaders.

162. India to get 114 Rafale jets as government clears Rs 3.25 lakh crore deal: Sources
- On 12 February 2026, India’s Defence Acquisition Council (DAC), chaired by Union Defence Minister, approved defence deals worth about ₹3.6 lakh crore, including procurement of 114 Rafale fighter jets, combat missiles and AS-HAPS systems for the Indian Air Force and other forces.
- The deal covers Rafale jets (Multi Role Fighter Aircraft), advanced combat missiles, and Air-Ship Based High Altitude Pseudo Satellite (AS-HAPS) for long-range strike, surveillance and communications. Most Rafales are expected to be manufactured in India under the “Make in India” push.
- The package also includes anti-tank mines and tank/vehicle overhauls for the Army, power generators and additional P-8I reconnaissance aircraft for the Navy, and EO/IR systems for the Coast Guard. The MRFA proposal now moves to the apex committee and then to technical and commercial talks ahead of a likely final deal during French President Emmanuel Macron’s visit.
163. Assam Tea Exports Rise 40 Million Kg After 25 Years, Says CM Himanta Biswa Sarma
- Assam Chief Ministeron February,11, 2026, announced that tea exports from the state have increased by 40 million kg in 2025-26, marking the strongest growth in 25 years. While tea exports in Southern India declined by 10 million kg, Assam saw a rise in sales by 19 million kg.
- At the Guwahati Tea Auction Centre, the sale of orthodox tea doubled, rising from 4.19 million kg to 9.15 million kg. Highlighting recent trade agreements with the European Union, United Kingdom, and the United States, Sarma expressed confidence in a “golden era” for Assam tea.
- The Chief Minister also said that the state government has decided to raise the subsidy on orthodox tea from Rs 10 to Rs 15 per kg to encourage further exports next year, leveraging the benefits of free trade agreements with these countries.

164. India's tea exports touch all-time high at 280.40 million kg in 2025
- In 2025, India achieved record tea exports of 280.40 million kg during January to December, with strong growth in shipments to Middle Eastern markets and China, marking the country’s highest annual export performance.
- The Tea Board of India and exporters expanded into Iran, Iraq, Turkey, and China, offsetting weaker US demand through market diversification, research, and promotion, with orthodox tea, particularly Assam orthodox, driving most of the export growth.
- Export earnings rose to ₹8,488.43 crore from ₹7,167.41 crore. Iraq, UAE, Iran, and China saw major gains, while US exports fell. Payment reforms and the India-US trade deal were expected to support future scaling toward 300 million kg exports.

165. Ashwini Vaishnaw virtually flags off Sairang–Silchar passenger train service

166. Rajasthan achieves 3k mw capacity under the PM Kusum scheme

168. Airport Authority of India signs MoU with Bharat taxi for enhanced last-mile connectivity at select airports
- On February 8, 2026, the Airports Authority of India signed an MoU with Bharat Taxi to launch regulated, passenger-friendly cab services at airports in Rajkot, Vadodara, Surat, Bhuj, Pune, Aurangabad, Varanasi, Kanpur, Prayagraj, and Agra.
- AAI Chairman Vipin Kumar exchanged the MoU with Sahakar Taxi Cooperative Ltd.; the driver-owned cooperative model will offer transparent, surge-free fares, reliable last-mile connectivity, and improved passenger transport services at the airport premises.
- The initiative aligns with Atmanirbhar Bharat, Sahakar se Samriddhi, and Viksit Bharat 2047. Bharat Taxi was launched by Amit Shah and partners with institutions like Delhi Metro and SBI to expand regulated, cooperative-based taxi operations nationwide.
169. India, Malaysia sign 11 MoUs during Modi visit, stress counter-terrorism efforts

170. Indian Army organizes multi-speciality health camp in Rajouri
- Indian Army medical outreach activities, including comprehensive medical camps in areas such as Uri that have benefited more than 1,300 civilians from remote villages with specialist consultations, reflect this ongoing effort to enhance access to health services alongside the regular security mandate of the forces.
- As part of the commemorative events leading up to Naushera Day 2026, the Army organised a Multi-Speciality Medical Camp in collaboration with Government Medical College, Rajouri, in Naushera to provide free quality healthcare services to residents and people from adjoining areas.
- A total of 138 civilians from Naushera and surrounding villages availed of these services, with the camp emphasising preventive care, early diagnosis and community medical awareness.
