461. Govt approves 22 new projects across eight states under Electronics Components Manufacturing Scheme
- On January 03, 2026 in New Delhi, the Centre approved 22 new proposals under the third tranche of the Electronics Components Manufacturing Scheme, involving investments of ₹41,863 crore across eight Indian states.
- Union Minister of IT announced the approvals, enabling companies across mobile, telecom, IT hardware, automotive, and strategic electronics sectors to expand manufacturing through policy reforms and faster execution.
- The approvals cover PCBs, capacitors, connectors, Li-ion cells, display modules, and sub-assemblies, taking total ECMS approvals to 46 projects with ₹54,567 crore investment, creating about 51,000 direct jobs nationwide.

462. India’s First Government AI Clinic Launched at GIMS Greater Noida
- On January 3, 2026, India unveiled its first government hospital–based Artificial Intelligence (AI) clinic at the Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS), Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, in an online inauguration attended by over 100 medical experts, researchers, policymakers, and international guests.
- Established under the GIMS Centre for Medical Innovation, the AI clinic aims to integrate AI into clinical practice to support quicker diagnoses, safer treatments, and better medical decision-making, while also providing a real-world platform for AI healthcare startups to develop, test, and validate solutions.

463. India's First AI Clinic Inaugurated At GIMS Greater Noida
- On January 03, 2026, at Government Institute of Medical Sciences, Greater Noida, India’s first government hospital-based Artificial Intelligence clinic was inaugurated to modernise public healthcare delivery using advanced digital tools.
- The clinic was inaugurated online by the Additional Director General of Health Services, Government of India, and led by Rakesh Kumar Gupta, enabling AI startups to develop, test, and validate solutions directly within a government clinical environment.
- Established under the GIMS Centre for Medical Innovation, with support from IIT Kanpur, IIT Madras, and IIIT Lucknow, the clinic focuses on imaging, decision support, faster treatment, patient safety, and will see its physical launch on January 6.
464. Government Launches Schemes to Boost Trade Finance For MSME Exporters
- On January 3, 2026, in New Delhi, the Government of India launched two new schemes under the Export Promotion Mission (EPM) to support MSME exporters by reducing export credit costs and improving access to trade finance.
- The first scheme provides a 2.75% interest subvention on pre- and post-shipment rupee export credit for exports covered under a positive list of HS 6-digit tariff lines (about 75%), with an annual cap of ₹50 lakh per exporter (IEC).
- The second scheme introduces collateral guarantee support through CGTMSE, offering up to 85% coverage for Micro and Small exporters and 65% for Medium exporters, aimed at boosting bank lending and enhancing MSME participation in global value chains.

465. State transport department launches initiatives for road safety
- On January 03 ,2026, the Rajasthan State Transport Department is observing Road Safety Month from January 1 to January 30, 2026, across all districts to reduce road accidents and promote traffic discipline.

- The FDI was structured via Series-I CCPS under FEMA norms; funds will strengthen AI systems ahead of a phased public launch by mid-2026, focusing on job discovery, skill-gap insights, inclusivity for non-metro users, and responsible data practices.
467. ArcelorMittal Doubles Renewable Energy Capacity in India with $0.9 Billion Investment
- On January 02, 2026, it was reported that ArcelorMittal announced three new renewable energy projects in India, adding 1GW of solar and wind capacity, doubling its India portfolio to 2GW.
- The projects will supply clean power to AM/NS India, ArcelorMittal’s joint venture with Nippon Steel, through a $0.9 billion investment in large-scale renewable infrastructure.

468. Minister Santana Chakma Launches RAMP Incentive Schemes to Strengthen Tripura’s MSME Sector
- On January 2, 2026, in Agartala, the Tripura government launched the Tripura RAMP Transport Incentive Scheme 2025 and Tripura RAMP Partial Reimbursement of Loan Incentive Scheme 2025 to support MSME growth.
- Industry and Commerce Minister unveiled the schemes under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance framework by offering transport reimbursements, loan relief, and incentives for market participation.
- The schemes offer 50% transport cost reimbursement, up to ₹1 lakh for fair participation, support women entrepreneurs, promote digital, green, and circular practices, strengthen dispute resolution, and aim to boost MSME GDP contribution over a three-year implementation period.

469. Solar exports rise 65% in Q3; put Gujarat makers in forefront
- On January 02 , 2026 It was reported that, In Q3 2025, India’s solar cell and module exports rose 65.2% year-on-year to $344.5 million, with Gujarat emerging as the manufacturing hub, contributing nearly half of the country’s total solar cell and module capacity.
- Major exporters such as Adani Solar, Waaree Energies Limited, Goldi Solar, and ReNew Sys drove growth by leveraging large-scale, integrated manufacturing and strong overseas demand, especially from the United States.
- Solar modules formed about 98% of exports, with the US absorbing nearly all shipments; however, higher US tariffs raising duties to 50% strained margins, partially offset by rupee depreciation and rising demand from Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.

470. Mumbai–Ahmedabad bullet train hits milestone with first mountain tunnel breakthrough
- On, January 02, 2026 India completed its first mountain tunnel—1.5 km long Mountain Tunnel-5—on the Mumbai–Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail corridor, located between Virar and Boisar stations in Palghar district, Maharashtra.
- Railway Minister virtually witnessed the tunnel breakthrough from New Delhi, stating it cleared most alignment between Thane and Ahmedabad, achieved through phased tunnelling across seven mountain tunnels and one planned undersea tunnel.
- The 508-km project spans Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Dadra & Nagar Haveli, includes 12 stations and three depots, targets 320 kmph speed, 2h17m travel time, August 15, 2027 rollout, and precedes the January 2026 Vande Bharat sleeper launch by Narendra Modi.
