1941. Indian pharma industry showed ‘impressive’ growth in April
- On 11 may, 2025 It was Reported that, The Indian Pharmaceutical Market continued its upward momentum in April 2025, registering a strong 7.8 per cent year-on-year growth with total sales reaching Rs 19,711 crore, according to a report by Pharmatrack.
- The monthly performance added an impressive Rs 1,424 crore in incremental sales, underscoring the sector’s sustained resilience and demand, the report added. According to the report, the sales growth was primarily driven by price-led expansion, followed by the impact of new product introductions (NIS).
- On a Moving Annual Total (MAT) basis, the report added that the industry surged to Rs 2,27,361 Crore, reflecting a year-over-year growth of 8.3 per cent and a healthy 10.3 per cent Compound annual growth rate (CAGR), highlighting the sector’s resilience and longterm growth potential. T

1942. Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra ink MoU for Tapti Basin Mega Recharge Project
- In a significant move towards regional water security, the governments of Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra on 10 May,2025, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly implement the Tapti Basin Mega Recharge Project.
- The agreement, aimed at addressing the water needs of select regions in both States, was finalised following a meeting of the Madhya Pradesh–Maharashtra Inter-State Control Board held in Bhopal.

1943. India’s first hydrogen-powered truck for mining logistics deployed in Chhattisgarh
- On 11 May 2025 , The country’s first hydrogen fuel cell truck to promote cleaner transportation for mining logistics has been deployed at the Chhattisgarh government’s coal block by Adani Enterprises .
- Each truck, equipped with smart technology and three hydrogen tanks, can carry up to 40 tons of cargo over a 200-kilometer range.

1944. Metro Line 3 Phase 2 Opens Up Connecting BKC To Worli; Over 26K Commuters Take Ride On Day 1 After Opening For Public
- In a big leap for Mumbai’s public transport, Metro Line 3's second phase—connecting Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) to Acharya Atre Chowk in Worli—officially began operations on 10 May, 2025.
- Commuters can now travel directly from Aarey to Worli without changing trains, a convenience previously unavailable in Mumbai’s crowded suburban rail network.
- Fares for Phase 2A range from Rs 10 to Rs 40, with a full journey from JVLR Aarey to Acharya Atre Chowk costing Rs 60. A total of 244 metro services will operate daily using eight trains, with a frequency of 6 minutes and 20 seconds between each. Travel times will range from 15-20 minutes between BKC and Acharya Atre Chowk, and about 36 minutes end-to-end.
1945. BrahMos Missile Manufacturing Plant Inauguration In Lucknow Today, To Roll Out Up To 100 Supersonic Missiles A Year
- On 11 May 2025 , India is set to boost its defence manufacturing capabilities with the inauguration of a BrahMos missile production facility in Lucknow
- The unit aims to produce 80 to 100 supersonic cruise missiles each year and is part of the larger Defence Industrial Corridor being developed in Uttar Pradesh.
- The BrahMos missile, a joint venture between India’s Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Russia’s NPO Mashinostroyeniya, is a key asset in India’s strategic arsenal.
- The inauguration of the BrahMos unit worth Rs 300 crore will certainly be a big boost to the project in the state. About 1,600 hectares of land have been allotted for the defence corridor project in the first phase, with big companies having already signed MoUs
1946. Warehousing leasing hits 16.7 million sq ft, driven by manufacturing
- On 09 May,2025 It was reported that, India’s warehousing sector witnessed robust growth in Q1 2025, with total leasing activity across the top eight markets touching 16.7 million sq ft—a fifty per cent year-on-year rise.
- The manufacturing sector largely led the surge, which saw a ninety-four per cent jump in leasing volumes, accounting for 8 million sq ft or 48 per cent of total demand.
- India’s total warehousing stock stands at 495 million sq ft. Mumbai accounts for 31 per cent, while NCR follows with 22 per cent. Vacancy levels remained healthy at 11.3 per cent in Q1 2025, with Grade A spaces recording slightly higher vacancies due to strong development interest.

1947. Karnataka, GAIL Ink ₹5,000 Cr Deal to Build 1 GW Renewable Energy Projects
- On 09 May, 2025, In a strategic step toward bolstering clean energy infrastructure, the Government of Karnataka has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with GAIL (India) Limited to set up 1 gigawatt (GW) of renewable energy capacity across the state. The estimated investment for this initiative stands at ₹5,000 crore.
- Minister Patil emphasized Karnataka’s readiness to support the initiative through flexible land acquisition mechanisms, including leasing from farmers or allocation via the Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB).
- The collaboration is expected to open up avenues for further clean energy investments in the state.
1948. Odisha Govt Green-lights Rs 1426 Cr Road & Transport Boost
- On 8 may, 2025 It was reported that, Under the newly sanctioned ‘Mukhya Mantri Sadak Yojana’, ₹1,000 crore has been earmarked to build 500 km of disaster-resilient roads between 2025 and 2030.
- Key features include elevated embankments above flood levels, reinforced protection walls, modern drainage systems, and high-level bridges to replace frequently submerged routes.
- The roads are designed to support rapid evacuation and relief missions during natural disasters. Additionally, the Cabinet rolled out a 50% fare discount on state-run buses for women, students, transgender persons, seniors, and persons with disabilities.

1949. Agriculture exports showing strong growth, up 30% on a 3-month average (YoY): Report
- On 8 May 2025, it was reported that, India's agriculture exports are showing strong growth, increasing by 30 per cent year-on-year on a 3-month moving average (3mma) basis in volume terms, according to a report by SBI Mutual Funds.
- In February 2025, the volume growth stood at 15 per cent, and in January 2025, it was even higher at 39 per cent.
- The strong rabi output and export growth provide a dual boost to India's agriculture economy. Higher production ensures food security and price stability, while the export momentum enhances farmer incomes and strengthens the country's trade position.

1950. Railways gives green signal for location survey for new terminal at Devanahalli
- On 10 May 2025 , Bengaluru’s overcrowded railway network, the Ministry of Railways has given the green light for a Final Location Survey (FLS) for the proposed Mega Coaching Terminal near Devanahalli.
- The approval is part of a broader initiative to address the city’s growing passenger demands. The survey, which is set to be conducted along the Yelahanka-Devanahalli- Chikkaballapur corridor, is estimated to cost Rs 1.35 crore.
- Currently, Bengaluru, the fifth most populous metro city, operates with only three terminals and 12 pit lines, handling 140 originating, 139 terminating and 142 pass-through trains daily. The city also manages 110 primary maintenance trains.
