2421. India and China declare truce — a lesson in diplomacy for the west

2422. Indian armed forces to benefit from HQ IDS-DST partnership to strengthen defence research and development
- On 22 march 2025 Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff (HQ IDS) and the Department of Science and Technology (DST) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to strengthen collaboration in defence research and development, aimed at enhancing technological innovation for the Indian armed forces.
- The partnership seeks to leverage the extensive research and development capabilities of DST to address the evolving needs of the armed forces by aligning defence technology research with national science initiatives and enhancing the self-reliance of India's defence sector in critical technology domains.
- “The collaboration will focus on developing advanced military technologies and fostering innovation, contributing to the overall goal of building self-reliance in critical defence capabilities,” a statement from the defence ministry said.
2423. India’s Bio-Economy Soars to $165.7 Billion in a Decade, Surpassing Growth Targets
- On 21 march 2025 India’s bio-economy has seen a phenomenal 16 times growth in the last 10 years, from $10 billion in 2014 to an unbelievable $165.7 billion in 2024.
- This was stated by Union Minister,while releasing IBER 2025 (the India Bioeconomy Report 2025) at the BIRAC Foundation Day held at the National Media Centre. The impressive growth demonstrates India's seriousness in creating biotechnology as one of the pillars of its economic prosperity.
- According to the IBER 2025 report, India's bio-economy contributes 4.25% of the national GDP and has a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 17.9% in the last 4 years.
- The Bio-Industrial Segment is the most significant contributor with 47.2% of the value of the sector, with Biopharma following at 35.2%..

2424. Indian Government Launches AI Compute Portal, Dataset Repository AIKosha to Boost Innovation
- On 7 march 2025 The Indian Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) launched several artificial intelligence (AI) initiatives the announcements were made on the occasion of the first anniversary of the IndiaAI Mission,
- Union IT minister unveiled the India AI Compute Portal during an event, which will provide accessible and affordable AI compute, network, storage, platform, and cloud services. AIKosha, an online repository containing datasets and AI models,
- The former is a secure platform that comes with a repository of datasets, AI models, and use cases that enable AI innovation. The platform also features a sandbox environment along with tools and tutorials to help developers test and deploy AI model.

2425. ₹7000 crore deal, 155 mm indigenous artillery gun,
- On 22 march 2025 In the CCS meeting chaired by Prime Minister of india the green signal has been given to the deal to purchase indigenous artillery guns worth Rs 7000 crore.
- Bharat Forge and Tata Advanced Systems will jointly manufacture it in the country. The features of this artillery gun are enough to blow the senses of the enemies.
- The Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) will manufacture the Advanced Towed Artillery Gun in collaboration with two indigenous companies. With this, the years-old demand of the army will be fulfilled. Artillery guns are needed very much, especially in border areas.
2426. Odisha inks pact with Meta to launch WhatsApp-based citizen services
- ON 7 march 2025 The Odisha government has collaborated with the Meta to launch a unified WhatsApp chatbot for seamless delivery of public services to the people.
- Through this chatbot, citizens will be able to avail vital government services including obtaining birth and income certificates, applying for driving and fertilizer Licences and accessing incentives including the benefits of National Family Benefits Scheme.
- The state government inked an MoU in this regard with Meta at Lok Seva Bhavan in the capital .on behalf of the state government, the Centre for Modernizing Government Initiative (CMGI) signed the MoU with Meta India.

2427. Telecom PLI Scheme: Rs 4,081 Crore Invested By Beneficiaries, Rs 78,672 Crore In Sales, Rs 14,963 Crore in Exports
- On 22 March,2025, It was reported that, the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme for telecom and networking products has led to an investment of Rs 4,081 crore and generated sales worth Rs 78,672 crore, including exports of Rs 14,963 crore, as of 31 January 2025.
- The scheme has also created employment for 26,351 individuals.
- The PLI scheme covers 33 telecom and networking products, against which companies can claim incentives.
2428. Ndia’s First Battery-Grade Lithium Refinery
- On 6 march 2025 Lohum corporation has officially launched India’s first battery-grade lithium refinery, capable of producing 1,000 metric tonnes annually.
- Lohum corporation now refines more than 90% of India’s lithium supply and has achieved cost competitiveness with other countries
- Additionally, Lohum is expanding its capabilities in the production of Cathode Active Materials (CAM), essential components for large-scale lithium-ion battery production.
- The new refinery supports India’s National Critical Minerals Mission, a ₹34,000 crore initiative introduced in the 2025 budget to promote exploration, processing, and research in critical minerals.

2429. In a first for 2W EV manufacturer, Ola Electric receives Rs 73.74 cr PLI incentives
- On 6 march 2025 Ola Electric, India's largest electric vehicle company, has achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first two-wheeler automotive electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer in India to receive incentives under the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for Automotive and Auto Component (PLI-Auto Scheme).
- The company has been granted a total incentive of Rs 73.74 crore for the Determined Sales Value of FY 2023-24 under the scheme, according to a stock exchange filing by the company.
- The PLI-Auto Scheme, launched by the Government of India, aims to boost domestic manufacturing in the automotive sector and promote the adoption of advanced, clean, and sustainable mobility solutions.
2430. Lenovo sees huge success in Made in India products: 12 million manufactured, ₹18,000 cr milestone, and a bold leap into enterprise AI
- On 6 march 2025 At Tech World India 2025, Lenovo announced that it had manufactured and exported 12 million units from India in the year 2024 .
- The company is shifting its focus to AI-driven manufacturing, increased R&D investment, and enterprise solutions from India
- Lenovo revealed that AI server manufacturing at its Puducherry facility—expanding beyond smartphones, laptops, and PCs—will commence this fiscal year, strengthening India’s role in enterprise AI deployment and cloud computing. Aside from its facility in Puducherry, Lenovo also works with Dixon Technologies.
