23931. Boost to Indian Navy’s capabilities! ‘Indigenous Aircraft Carrier on track, Navy to get 170 ships by 2027’
- The second indigenous aircraft carrier has been budgeted for in the Indian Navy's Maritime Capability Perspective Plan (MCPP).
- The Navy is expected to take delivery of the country's first Indigenous Aircraft Carrier in April 2022 and it will be commissioned in August 2022 as INS Vikrant. This has been built by the state-owned Cochin Shipyard Limited and is 40,000 tonnes.
- the design and development is ready and the project will be rolled out soon. So far the Indian Navy has just one aircraft carrier compared to China which is in the process of commissioning its third aircraft carrier. Presently, Indian Navy is operating INS Vikramaditya, which is 45,000 tonnes and is the modified Russian Admiral Gorshkov.
23932. Rice, wheat lead 23% increase in agri exports in H1
- Non-basmati shipments volume up 60%, wheat by over 500%
- Robust demand for Indian foodgrains has pushed up the agriculture produce exports by 23 per cent during the first half of the current fiscal to $11.04 billion from $8.9 billion in the same period a year ago.
- Non-basmati rice continued to top the export chart with shipments registering a 50 per cent increase in value at $2.95 billion against $1.96 billion in the year-ago period. Volumes of non-basmati rice were up 60 per cent at 8.19 million tonnes (mt) against 5.11 mt, according to the provisional data from Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA).

23933. Indian Army to unveil digital combat uniform on Army Day
- The Indian Army is going to unveil a new digital pattern combat uniform, which would be lighter and more climate friendly, on this Army Day, January 15,
- The new camouflage uniform will be based on a "digital" pattern and they are expected to be showcased at the Army Day parade on January 15, government officials said.
- These camouflage uniforms would be totally different from the existing dress and the shirts would not be required to be tucked in by troops. The new camouflage dress would include a mix of colours including earthen and olive.
23934. Tata Motors rides ahead Hyundai, becomes second largest car seller in India
- Tata Motors has surpassed Hyundai to become the second largest-selling carmaker in India in December 2021.
- The homegrown auto major domestic car sales stood at 35,300 units last month, while Hyundai sold 32,312 units during the same period.
- The sale of Tata Motors is primarily driven by its SUV Nexon in the Indian market. The December sales were highest-ever for Tata Motors on monthly basis. Tata Motors sold 99,002 units during Q3 FY2022, the highest-ever quarterly sales numbers in a decade.

23935. Projects of two Prayagraj students selected for award under the INSPIRE Award scheme
- Projects of two students from Maharshi Patanjali Vidya Mandir (MPVM)- Divyanshu Srivastav and Satvik VK Agarwal, were selected for the award under the INSPIRE Award scheme, one of the flagship programmes of DST (Department of Science and Technology), Government of India, Ministry of Science and Technology.
- Divyanshu Srivastava’s stimulating project ‘LIDSRA,’ explains about the invention of a ‘Licence Integrated Device to Prevent Road Accidents’ and vehicle thefts.
- The device consists of a slider replacing the ignition of the keyhole in traditional vehicles as well as fingerprint sensor vehicles in which the slider does not accept keys, but the driving license of the authorized person and as such prevents theft.

- लखनऊ के युवा आर्किटेक्ट अनंत कृष्णा ने मिट्टी की पुताई और लकड़ी की गुंबददार छत से 300 स्क्वायर फ़ीट के ऑफिस को पारम्परिक और ईको-फ्रेंडली लुक दिया है। अनंत अपने काम से लोगों को विश्वास दिलाना चाहते थे कि पारम्परिक तकनीक के साथ भी मॉर्डन घर तैयार हो सकता है। इसलिए उन्होंने अपने ऑफिस को एक उदाहरण बनाने के बारे में सोचा।

- Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday said investments in the Union Territory are expected to reach Rs 35,000 crore by December 2021 and proposals for Rs 25,000-crore funding have already been received.
