2381. Nagaland sets course for rooftop solar push, state to provide additional subsidies
- On March 25, 2025, the Nagaland government launched the Nagaland Solar Mission, taking a major step toward expanding rooftop solar energy adoption.
- The initial meeting for the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana was led by Chief Secretary Dr. J Alam to plan the scheme’s implementation. Approved by the Union Cabinet on February 29, 2024, this initiative aims to deliver up to 300 units of free electricity monthly to one crore households via rooftop solar installations.
- The central government will subsidize 60% to 54% of the cost for rooftop solar (RTS) systems between 1 kW and 3 kW. Nagaland’s state government will supplement this with subsidies of 36% to 31%, resulting in a combined subsidy of 96% for systems up to 2 kW and 85% for those up to 3 kW.
- The Nagaland Solar Mission aligns with the national push for clean energy while offering higher subsidies to make rooftop solar more affordable for households. With financial backing and administrative support, this initiative is expected to drive significant solar adoption in the state.

2382. ORIX Corporation India secures Rs 300 crore investment from Japanese parent firm
- On 25 March,2025, Mobility solutions and financial services provider ORIX Corporation India said it has secured Rs 300 crore in equity investment from its Japanese parent firm ORIX Corporation for growth and expansion.
- The investment will also support key initiatives including digital transformation, infrastructure enhancement and sustainability-driven initiatives such as green mobility and EV leasing, the company said.
- The growth capital represents a milestone in our next stage of growth and innovation in India."
2383. India’s Defence Manufacturing Soars To Record High, Exports Surge 30-Fold
- On 25 March, 2025 It was Reported that, India has emerged as a formidable force in indigenous defence manufacturing, achieving its highest-ever growth in domestic defence production.
- According to the Ministry of Defence, the country recorded defence production worth Rs 1,27,265 crore in the financial year (FY) 2023-24, marking a staggering 174% increase from Rs 46,429 crore in 2014-15.
- India’s defence exports have also witnessed an unprecedented rise, reaching an all-time high of Rs 21,083 crore in FY 2023-24—an exponential 30-fold increase from Rs 686 crore in FY 2013-14.
2384. PLI scheme for specialty steel gets investment commitments worth Rs 17,000 crore
- On 25 March,2025, It was Reported that, The Ministry of Steel reached a noteworthy achievement with the signing of 42 applications submitted by 25 companies, translating into an investment commitment of Rs 17,000 crore.
- Union Minister of Steel stated that this development aligns with Prime Minister “Make in India” initiative, which aims to boost domestic industrial capability.
- The scheme, therefore, seeks to bridge this gap by encouraging the production of these steel varieties within the country.
2385. Exports Reach Record ₹21,083 Crore, Expanding 30x In Decade
- On 25 March 2025 India's defence production has reached a record Rs 1.27 lakh crore in FY 2023-24, the Ministry of Defence said
- According to the ministry, the defence exports hit a record Rs 21,083 crore in FY 2023-24, expanding 30 times in a decade, with exports to 100+ countries.
- The ministry, initiatives such as Make in India, which has enabled the development of advanced military platforms including the Dhanush Artillery Gun System, Advanced Towed Artillery Gun System (ATAGS), Main Battle Tank (MBT) Arjun, Light Specialist Vehicles, High Mobility Vehicles, Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas have bolstered the growth in the defence production.
- The growth has also been bolstered by Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH), Light Utility Helicopter (LUH), Akash Missile System, Weapon Locating Radar, 3D Tactical Control Radar, and Software Defined Radio (SDR), as well as naval assets like destroyers, indigenous aircraft carriers, submarines, frigates, corvettes, fast patrol vessels, fast attack craft, and offshore patrol vessels.

2386. IIT Guwahati scientists use fruit waste to treat polluted wastewater
- On 25 March 2025 Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati researchers have developed a sustainable and cost-effective method to remove toxic pollutants from industrial wastewater using biochar made from fruit waste.
- The team has shown how biochar derived from fruit waste such as Pineapple crowns and Mosambi (sweet lime) fibers can efficiently absorb nitroaromatic compounds, a class of hazardous chemicals commonly found in wastewater from industries such as dyes, pharmaceuticals, pesticides, and cosmetics.
- Nitroaromatic compounds pose a significant threat to both human health and ecosystems. These chemicals are widely used in various industrial applications, but their continuous discharge into water bodies leads to severe pollution.

- 25 मार्च 2025 को डीआरडीओ की इकाई, रक्षा सामग्री और भंडार अनुसंधान एवं विकास स्थापना (DMSRDE) की ओर से एक जूता तैयार किया गया है, जिसे अगर फौज के जवान पहने तो विस्फोट होने पर उन्हें कोई खासा नुकसान नहीं होगा ।
- सैनिक इस एंटी स्पाइक बूट को पहनकर जमीन की मिट्टी में छिपी बड़ी किलो और जहरीले कीड़ों से भी बचे रहेंगे ।
- डीएमएसआरडीई की 3 साल तक चली इस रिसर्च के बाद यह एंटी माइन बूट तैयार किया गया है. खास बात यह है कि ये 125 किलोग्राम तक के वजन की लैंडमाइंस के विस्फोट को सह सकता है ।
- ये बूट एक किलोग्राम का है, जो हल्के सिरेमिक पोरस और पिरामिड के हाइब्रिड भाग को मिक्स कर के बनाया गया है. इसकी खासियत यह है कि इसे पहनने के बाद सैनिक किसी प्रकार की थकान को भी महसूस नहीं कर पाएंगे. सीआरपीएफ की ओर से इस भूत का टेस्ट भी किया जा चुका है ।
2388. First-ever goods train from Guwahati reaches Tripura's Nischintapur
- On March 24, 2025, the first-ever goods train reached Nischintapur Terminal near Agartala, Tripura, marking a historic milestone for Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR).
- The freight consignment includes 11 BCN wagons filled with cement, originating from STAR siding at Tetelia near Guwahati. This shipment was delivered to Nischintapur Terminal, enhancing freight activity as part of the Agartala-Akhaura New Rail Link Project.
- The successful freight movement to Nischintapur under the Agartala-Akhaura Rail Link marks a major boost for Northeast’s railway logistics. Once India-Bangladesh train services commence, this corridor will further enhance trade, regional connectivity, and economic integration
2389. Assam Assembly passes Rs 2.63 lakh crore state budget for FY'26
- On March 24, 2025, the Assam Assembly passed a Rs 2.63 lakh crore state budget for the 2025-26 fiscal through the Assam Appropriation Bill, 2025.

2390. Jammu Smart City project: Over Rs 800 crore invested
