- रसायन और उर्वरक राज्य मंत्री मनसुख मांडविया ने आज उत्तर प्रदेश के बस्ती में पी.एस.ए. ऑक्सीजन संयंत्र का वर्चुअल माध्यम से शुभारंभ किया।
- इस अवसर पर श्री मांडविया ने कहा कि कोविड महामारी के चुनौतीपूर्ण समय ने हमें स्वास्थ्य और चिकित्सा संबंधी बुनियादी ढांचे को पुन: विकसित करने, विनिर्माण क्षमता बढ़ाने और स्थानीय आपूर्ति नेटवर्क विकसित करने का मौका दिया है।
- श्री मांडविया ने कहा कि कंपनी की कोरपोरेट सामाजिक जिम्मेदारी परियोजना के रूप में 500 लीटर प्रति मिनट क्षमता वाला स्विंग एडजोर्पशन आक्सीजन संयंत्र स्थापित किया गया है।

- 2DG has been given emergency approval by the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) for use on COVID-19 patients in the country, Laurus Labs said in a regulatory filing
- Hyderabad Based Laurus Labs has already applied with the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) for emergency use authorization (EUA) for 2DG," it added.
- On June 28, pharma major Dr Reddy's announced the commercial launch of 2DG at a maximum retail price of Rs 990 per sachet.

- BDR Pharma has inked a pact with the Defence Research and Development Establishment (DRDE) and the Institute of Nuclear Medicine and Allied Sciences (INMAS) of the DRDO for manufacturing, distribution, and marketing of 2-DG in the country.
- The Mumbai-based company noted that it has already applied to the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) for restricted emergency use authorisation to manufacture Drug 2-DG to treat COVID-19 patients in India.
- For the development of 2-DG drugs, the DRDO has recently signed agreements with four major Indian generic medicine producers.

- With health experts cautioning that the country is likely to face the third spell of Covid-19, around 1,500 oxygen plants that can each produce 1,000 litres of liquid medical oxygen are being set up across India
- The DRDO chairman G Sateesh Reddy said only 47,000 PPE were produced in the country before Covid. However, since the outbreak their production has crossed six lakh units per day.

- Himachal becoming the first state to vaccinate 100% of the eligible population with the first dose, it has inoculated one-third of its population with the second dose. Modi said India was creating records by administering 1.25 crore doses daily, which was much higher than the entire population of some countries.

- India’s first pilot programme involving drones to deliver covid-19 vaccines is expected to take off soon in Telangana. The drone trials for delivery of medicines and vaccines, under the Medicine from the Sky project, will be held in Vikarabad, Hyderabad, from 9 September to 17 October.
- Blue Dart Express and its drone delivery partner Skye Air Mobility will fly the first drone flight under the Medicine in the Sky trials, Sky Air Mobility said in a statement There are about eight consortia carrying out trials for the Medicine from the Sky project, including Dunzo and Flipkart.
- The launch of the pilot project has been been delayed by several months due to covid-19 induced lockdowns and delays in regulatory clearances The use of drones will be mostly for emergencies and will be deployed in difficult-to-reach hilly regions such as in northeast India, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, where transport of medicine and vaccines becomes difficult, especially during the monsoons.
