931. Cabinet approves Rs 11,440 cr "Mission for Aatmanirbharta in Pulses" from 2025-31
- On October 1, 2025, the Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister, approved the ‘Mission for Aatmanirbharta in Pulses’ with a ₹11,440 crore outlay to boost domestic pulse production, reduce imports, and enhance farmers’ income by 2030-31.
- Led by PM and implemented through ICAR, KVKs, state agencies, and NAFED, the Mission will enhance research, seed systems, area expansion, procurement, and distribution of improved, climate-resilient pulse varieties.
- By 2030-31, the Mission targets 310 lakh hectares under pulses, 350 lakh tonnes production, and 1130 kg/ha yield, supported by 126 lakh quintals of seeds, 88 lakh seed kits, 1000 processing units, and assured procurement of Tur, Urad, and Masoor.

932. Gadkari clears ₹1,600 crore six-lane Nagpur–Bhandara highway project
- On 29 September, 2025, Union minister sanctioned a ₹1,600 crore six-lane highway project with 6–7 km of bridges on the Nagpur–Bhandara road, with bhoomipujan planned within four months.
- Union minister also approved a ₹150 crore cement road from Zero Mile to Automotive Square and stressed reducing travel time and improving safety across Nagpur district.
- Highlighting Ramtek’s tourism potential, Gadkari backed a ropeway, amphibian plane landings on Khindsi lake, and integrated infrastructure-tourism projects to boost the region’s economy.

933. OIL, GAIL sign MoU to expand cooperation across gas value chain
- On 30, September, 2025, OIL and GAIL signed an MoU in the presence of MoPNG officials, including the Secretary, to enhance cooperation across India’s natural gas value chain.
- The collaboration leverages OIL’s upstream expertise and GAIL’s marketing and distribution strengths to expand natural gas access and promote cleaner energy.
- The MoU aligns with India’s vision of a gas-based economy, improving energy security, accelerating energy transition, and creating stakeholder value nationwide.
934. SJVN commissions 128.88 MW solar capacity at Bikaner project
- State-owned SJVN on 30 September, 2025, said it has commissioned 128.88 MW solar capacity of its 1,000 MW Bikaner project in Rajasthan.
- With this addition, the project has achieved 629.90 MW cumulative capacity, while the remaining portion will be commissioned shortly.
- The Bikaner Solar Power Project, fully owned by SJVN through SGEL, is among India’s largest renewable energy projects, supporting national green energy goals.
935. Nagaland allocates ₹6 crore for emergency repairs on sinking NH-29
- On 29 September, 2025 in Kohima district, Deputy CM inspected NH-29’s collapsed 300-metre section at Liezocha and Kezanu, caused by torrential rains, threatening the state capital’s main lifeline.
- The government allocated ₹4 crore for emergency works, plus ₹2 crore from Delhi; MoRTH approved ₹19 crore for a 12.6 km stretch, with more proposals to address new damages.
- Long-term plans include two bypasses Niuland to 10th Mile (37 km) and Peducha to 10th Mile urged to be declared national highways. Contracts for current works will finish in 18 months, ensuring maintenance responsibility.

936. Kochi-Based Startup EyeROV Secures Rs 47 Crore Order from Indian Navy for Advanced UWROVs
- On September 30, 2025, in Kochi, EyeROV signed a ₹47 crore contract with the Indian Navy to deliver advanced UWROVs, enhancing India’s naval strength and self-reliance in defence technology.
- Founded in 2017 by IIT alumni Johns T Mathai and Kannappa P, EyeROV engineered UWROVs tested in extreme conditions, using fully indigenous technology to support defence operations and missions globally.
- The EyeROV TROUT, depth-rated at 300 metres, features HD cameras, manipulators, and sensors for surveillance, reconnaissance, and inspections. EyeROV serves DRDO, Coast Guard, CSIR, NCPOR, and over 80 global customers across defence, disaster, energy, and environmental sectors.
937. Odisha cabinet clears labour law amendments, education scheme, and temple development project
- On September 29, 2025, the Odisha state cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister approved four significant proposals from three departments, covering key areas of labour welfare, education, and religious tourism.
- One of the major highlights of the cabinet meeting was the approval of amendments to the Odisha Shops and Commercial Establishments Act, 1956, and the Factories Act, 1948.
- In the first phase, 2,200 schools will be constructed over three years at an estimated cost of Rs 1,200 crore, with each school receiving more than ₹5 crore in funding.
- In the religious tourism sector, the cabinet sanctioned a Rs 226 crore development project for the Ghatagaon Tarini temple in Keonjhar district, one of Odisha’s most prominent shrines.

938. India Announces 2 Cross-Border Rail Links With Bhutan
- On September 30, 2025, India unveiled its plan to build two cross-border train links with Bhutan at a cost of over Rs 4,000 crore, in first such railway connectivity projects with the Himalayan nation to boost trade and economic engagement.
- The details on the new rail projects linking the Bhutanese cities of Gelephu and Samtse with Kokrajhar in Assam and Banarhat in West Bengal respectively was made public by Railway Minister and Foreign Secretary .
- Under the two projects, 89 kms of railway lines will be laid and work is expected to be completed in the next four years.
939. LG lays foundation stone for 60 projects of AMRUT 2.0 worth Rs 699.79 cr
- On September 29, 2025, the Lieutenant Governor laid the foundation stone for 60 projects of AMRUT 2.0 worth Rs 699.79 crore. In his address, the Lieutenant Governor lauded the efforts of the Housing & Urban Development Department and the Jammu Municipal Corporation for fostering inclusive growth and improving their infrastructure and services for the city’s residents

940. 175 cr road development project launched in Vizag to advance urban mobility
- On September 30, 2025, In a major push to road infrastructure in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh VMRDA (Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority) has finalised tenders and launched works on seven master plan roads with a budget of Rs 175 crore
- The roads are being constructed in areas surrounding Bhogapuram, including Bheemili, Anandapuram, Gambheeram, and Adavivaram-Sontyam (near Simhachalam). Of the 15 roads jointly proposed by VMRDA, GVMC, and the roads and buildings dept, seven received approval from the govt, following which VMRDA finalised the tenders.
- Covering a length of 27 kilometres, these roads are intended to ease passenger traffic on the national highway connecting the upcoming Bhogapuram airport.
