861. PM Modi lays foundation for modern fish market and integrated aqua park in Odisha
- Prime Minister of India on October 11, 2025 virtually laid the foundation stones for a modern wholesale fish market in Bhubaneswar and an integrated aqua park at Hirakud in Odisha’s Sambalpur district.
- According to the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), the wholesale fish market will be developed over six acres at Pandara on the city’s outskirts at a cost of ₹59.13 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana. The project is a joint venture of the Centre and the state government.
- The Project will benefit 143 traders and create indirect employment for nearly 2,000 people. The project, supported by the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), is expected to be completed by November 2027.
862. 10th steel bridge launched for Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project
- On October,12,2025, It was Reported that, The Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project has successfully completed the launch of its 10th steel bridge in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
- The bridge, spanning 60 meters in length, was launched over a western railway facility (laundry) situated adjacent to the railway tracks.
- The bridge, which weighs 485 metric tons, measuring 12 metres in height and 11.4 metres in width, was fabricated at a dedicated workshop in Wardha (Nagpur, Maharashtra) and transported to Ahmedabad using specially designed trailers.
863. India's Smartphone Exports Touch $13.4 Billion In First Half Of FY26, Up 59%
- On 10 October, 2025, It was reported that, In the first half of FY26 (April–September 2025), India’s smartphone exports reach $13.4 billion, marking a 59% rise from $8.5 billion in the same period last year. September alone records the highest monthly export value of $1.7 billion.
- Apple drives the surge with iPhone exports worth $10 billion, contributing over 75% of total shipments under the PLI scheme. The US emerges as the key market, with exports tripling from $258 million to $900 million in September 2025.
- Smartphones remain a major strength in India’s export sector despite global trade headwinds. The PLI scheme for Apple ends in March 2026, while Samsung’s participation has concluded. Experts note that sustained growth depends on policy stability and US China trade outcomes.

864. Navy commissions ‘Trinetra’ Static Firing Facility in Andhra
- On 10 October, 2025, the Indian Navy inaugurates a state-of-the-art Static Firing Facility named ‘Trinetra’ at Naval Station Bheemunipatnam in Visakhapatnam. The facility is designed to enhance the Navy’s capability in testing and evaluating weapon systems domestically.
- Vice Admiral Rajesh Pendharkar, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Naval Command, presides over the commissioning ceremony. The indigenously developed facility reduces reliance on foreign OEMs, enabling independent life-extension testing and ensuring sustained operational readiness of naval armament systems.
- ‘Trinetra’ enables scientific assessment of missiles, rockets, and related systems by recording key performance parameters. It marks a major milestone in India’s naval testing infrastructure and strengthens the Navy’s contribution to Atmanirbhar Bharat through indigenous defence innovation and technological self-reliance.
865. Mining Department collects record revenue of ₹4,404.98 crore by October 8
- On 10 October, 2025 it was reported that, as of October 8, 2025, the Rajasthan Mining Department reports record revenue collection of ₹4,404.98 crore ₹60 crore higher than the same period last fiscal year marking the highest-ever revenue for this stage of the financial year.
- Principal Secretary T. Ravikant and Director of Mines Mahavir Prasad Meena lead coordinated efforts to boost revenue. Despite strikes in July and August, 2025, improved monitoring, review meetings, and stricter enforcement help enhance collection performance across the mining and geology department.
- The department targets ₹12,980 crore revenue for 2025–26, compared to ₹9,228.21 crore last fiscal. Measures include reviewing amnesty schemes, penalising illegal mining, and recovering RCC/ERCC dues. Financial Advisor Girish Kachhara oversees daily revenue progress reporting to achieve the set target.

866. THDC India Signs Rs 13,200 Crore MoU with Gujarat Government for 2,210 MW Anjan Kund Pumped Storage Project
- On 9 October 2025, THDC India Limited signs a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of Gujarat at the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference in Mehsana to develop the 2,210 MW Anjan Kund Pumped Storage Project in Dang district, worth about Rs 13,200 crore.
- The MoU is exchanged in the presence of Gujarat Chief Minister, Union Minister and THDCIL CMD R.K. Vishnoi. The Government of Gujarat provides support while THDCIL undertakes project development, emphasizing large-scale energy storage and renewable power integration.
- THDCIL, a Schedule ‘A’ Mini Ratna PSU jointly owned by NTPC and the Uttar Pradesh Government, showcases its innovation and leadership in pumped storage technology. The Anjan Kund project strengthens Gujarat’s renewable infrastructure and ensures stable, round-the-clock clean energy supply.
867. After IWT suspension, Centre clears strategic J&K Sawalkot project
- On 11 October 2025 It was reported that, months after the suspension of the Indus Water Treaty with Pakistan, the Centre gives environmental clearance for the 1,856-MW Sawalkot hydroelectric project on the Chenab River in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir, strengthening India’s strategic use of western river waters.
- The National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC) is constructing the Rs 31,380 crore run-of-the-river project in two stages. It features a 192.5-metre-high gravity dam, underground powerhouse, and advanced water conductor systems to generate about 7,534 million units of electricity every year.
- The project spans 1,401 hectares, affecting 13 villages and 1,500 families, for whom NHPC proposes resettlement with housing and livelihood support. Once completed, it becomes Jammu and Kashmir’s largest hydropower project, improving India’s control and storage of Chenab waters under IWT provisions.
868. NTPC Green Energy, Japan’s ENEOS Sign MoU To Develop Green Hydrogen Value Chain
- On 11 October, 2025 It was reported that, On the sidelines of World Expo 2025 preparations in Osaka, Japan, NTPC Green Energy Ltd (NGEL) signed an MoU with Japan’s ENEOS Corporation to collaborate on green hydrogen, green methanol, and other renewable-based chemical projects for clean energy development.
- The partnership between NGEL, a subsidiary of NTPC, and ENEOS aims to explore hydrogen-based exports from NGEL’s proposed Green Hydrogen Hub at Pudimadaka, Andhra Pradesh. The 1,200-acre facility will integrate renewable power generation, electrolysis, and chemical conversion for domestic and export markets.
- ENEOS seeks reliable low-carbon fuel supplies for Japan’s decarbonisation goals, while NTPC targets 60 gigawatts of renewable capacity by 2032 and net-zero emissions by 2070. The collaboration strengthens Indo-Japan cooperation in creating a sustainable, large-scale green hydrogen ecosystem across Asia.
869. Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel flags off 201 new buses
- On 10 Oct 2025, Gujarat Chief Minister flagged off 201 new State Transport buses from Gandhinagar, enhancing public travel. The fleet includes Super Express, Semi-Luxury, and Midi buses, serving routes across the State for smoother passenger commutes.
- The inauguration was attended by Minister Gandhinagar Mayor , MLAs, and officials. CM directed the Transport Department to adopt innovative technologies, modernise buses, and upgrade infrastructure to provide safe, timely, and high-quality transport services for citizens.
- The GSRTC currently runs over 8,000 buses daily, covering 33 lakh kilometres and serving 27 lakh passengers. During festivals, additional buses are deployed4,200 for Diwali and thousands for local fairs ensuring hassle-free travel and improved citizen convenience across Gujarat.

870. Tripura CM inaugurates ₹33 crore ADB-funded lake rejuvenation project
- On 10 Oct 2025, Tripura Chief Minister inaugurated the Rs 33.08 crore Maharaja Bir Bikram (MBB) College Lake Rejuvenation Project in Agartala, transforming a degraded 31-acre lake into a vibrant and safe public recreational area.
- The project, funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), was implemented by Agartala Smart City Ltd. Officials including CEO Shailesh Kumar Yadav and Secretary Abhishek Singh restored ecology, added walking tracks, yoga zones, water sports, and ensured security for public use.
- The rejuvenated area features 60 CCTV cameras, a 3-km walking circuit, 70,000 plants, and migratory bird facilities. It reduced crime, improved biodiversity and air quality, and complemented Rs 106 crore work rejuvenating 25 deserted ponds in Tripura.
