841. Rolls-Royce expands partnership with Bharat Forge to manufacture fan blades for Pearl 10X engines
- On October 16, 2025, Rolls-Royce signed an agreement at its Dahlewitz facility near Berlin with Bharat Forge Ltd to manufacture and supply fan blades for the Pearl 700 and Pearl 10X engines, expanding their long-standing partnership.
- Rolls-Royce and Bharat Forge will collaborate to produce precision aerospace components, strengthening India’s aerospace supply chain and supporting the ‘Make in India’ vision by delivering state-of-the-art fan blades for global aviation.
- Bharat Forge, India’s first manufacturer of Pearl engine components, has supplied parts since 2020 and delivered its first zero-defect fan blade in 2024. The new contract includes Pearl 10X engines and aims to double India’s aerospace sourcing by 2030.
842. IRCTC launches Bharat Gaurav Train for Rameswaram–Tirupati Dakshin Darshan Yatra
- On October 16,2025, It was reported that, The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has launched a new Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train package, the Rameswaram-Tirupati Dakshin Darshan Yatra, covering major temples and pilgrimage sites across South India.
- The 9-night, 10-day journey will begin on November 7, 2025, and end on November 16, 2025, offering travellers a convenient and guided religious tour through five key states.
- Package fares range from ₹18,040 (Sleeper) to ₹40,240 (2AC) for adults, including accommodation, meals, travel, and sightseeing. Key stops: Tirupati, Rameswaram, Madurai, Kanyakumari, Thiruvananthapuram, with leisure at Kovalam Beach and temple visits at every stop.
- IRCTC organises the tour with guided sightseeing, train travel, hotel stays, vegetarian meals, and local bus transfers, ensuring passengers enjoy a seamless spiritual journey across Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and key South Indian destinations.
843. Uttarakhand CM Dhami lays foundation stone for reconstruction of Khatima-Melaghat State Highway
- On October 16, 2025, Uttarakhand CM laid the foundation stone for the reconstruction of the 11.50 km Khatima-Melaghat State Highway (SH-107) in Udham Singh Nagar district to improve regional connectivity and development.
- CM performed ceremonial worship and directed officials to ensure road safety, durability, and pothole-free conditions, highlighting the project’s role in boosting cross-border trade, tourism, education, and accessibility for Khatima and nearby areas.
- The ₹2089.74 lakh project includes KC drainage construction, road safety measures, signage installation, TBM and BC layer strengthening, erosion prevention, and enhanced drainage systems, making it a long-term infrastructure milestone aligned with PM Modi’s vision of connectivity.

844. UPI Set To Go Live In Japan As NPCI Ties Up With NTT Data
- On October 14, 2025, NPCI International Payments (NIPL), the global arm of the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with NTT Data Japan.
- The collaboration seeks to enable UPI acceptance across merchant outlets in Japan, allowing Indian visitors to make quick and secure payments by scanning QR codes through their existing UPI apps
- NTT Data Japan, a subsidiary of NTT Data Group, operates the country’s largest card payment processing network connecting acquirers, issuers, merchants, and ATMs nationwide
- Between January and August 2025, more than 2.08 lakh Indian tourists visited Japan, marking a 36 per cent rise compared to the same period in 2024.

845. Hyundai Motor lines up ₹45,000 cr investmentin India: 26 launches in 2030
- On October 15, 2025, Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) announced an investment plan of Rs 45,000 crore through FY2030 to drive its next phase of growth.
- The company also plans 26 product launches, including seven new nameplates, as it targets entry into the multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) and off-road sport utility vehicle (SUV) segments, said José Muñoz, President and Chief Executive Officer of Hyundai Motor Company.
- For EV localisation, phase one focuses on local assembly at our Chennai plant, beginning with our dedicated EV launch in 2025. We’re making India a global export hub, targeting up to 30 per cent export contribution,” Muñoz said at Hyundai’s first-ever CEO–Investor Meet in Mumbai.
846. DRDO signs MoU to develop 300 MW solar projects across its establishments
- On 14 October, 2025, DRDO signed an MoU with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) at DRDO Bhawan, New Delhi, to develop 300 MW of solar-based renewable energy projects across its establishments in India.
- The agreement was signed by Dr. Samir V. Kamat (DRDO) and Santosh Kumar Sarangi (SECI), aiming to establish self-reliant, Net-Zero campuses at all strategic DRDO locations by 2027 using solar energy.
- Earlier, DRDO released Indian Radio Software Architecture (IRSA) standard 1.0 to ensure Software Defined Radio (SDR) interoperability, waveform portability, and certification, marking a major step toward self-reliance in defence communication technologies.
847. India, Saudi Arabia eye collaboration in Chemicals, Petrochemicals sector
- On October 15, 2025, India and Saudi Arabia are exploring new areas of collaboration in the Chemicals and Petrochemicals sector with potential partnerships between major companies of both the countries.
- A statement issued by the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers said that petrochemicals is the strength of Saudi Arabia and India’s strength is in Speciality Chemicals. “It was agreed to have enhanced cooperation for harnessing the synergy between the two sides,
- The Indian side was led by Nivedita Shukla Verma, Secretary Department of Chemicals & Petrochemicals, while the Saudi delegation was led by H E Eng Khalil bin Ibrahim bin Salamah, Vice Minister of Industry and Minerals.
- Saudi Arabia is India’s fourth largest trade partner, and India is Saudi Arabia’s second largest trade partner. Bilateral trade between the two countries reached USD 41.88 billion in 2024–25, with chemicals and petrochemicals contributing 10 per cent, which is nearly USD 4.5 billion.
