781. Netherlands-based Ingka Makes First Renewable Energy Investment in India
- Netherlands-based Ingka Investments, on 3 November 2025 announced its first renewable energy investment in India — a 210 MWp solar project in Bikaner, Rajasthan, scheduled to begin operations in December 2026.
- The project, developed in partnership with IB Vogt Solar India, will produce 380 GWh of renewable energy annually and generate 450 jobs during construction.
- As part of its Rs. 10 billion India commitment and EUR 7.5 billion global renewable investment plan, Ingka aims to achieve 100% renewable energy consumption by 2030, with IKEA India targeting full renewable power use by 2025.
782. UPI Hits Record 20.7 Billion Transactions In October; Crosses 750 Million/ Day For First Time
- On November 2, 2025, data released by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) revealed that India’s flagship real-time digital payments system, the Unified Payments Interface (UPI), achieved a record 20.70 billion transactions in October 2025 the highest ever in a single month. This marked an increase from 19.63 billion in September and 20.01 billion in August 2025.
- The total transaction value rose to ₹27.28 lakh crore in October, compared to ₹24.90 lakh crore in September and ₹24.85 lakh crore in August. On a year-on-year basis, UPI transactions saw a 25% rise in volume and a 16% increase in value.
- According to the Reserve Bank of India’s Payment Systems Report (June 2025), India’s overall digital payment transactions grew from ₹3,248 crore in 2019 to ₹20,849 crore in 2024 (in terms of volume) and from ₹1,775 lakh crore to ₹2,830 lakh crore (in terms of value).
- October also witnessed a significant milestone when, on October 18, 2025, UPI processed 754.37 million transactions in a single day — the highest-ever daily record.

783. ISRO's LVM3 lifts off from Sriharikota carrying heaviest communication satellite CMS-03
- On November 2, 2025, ISRO successfully launched its heaviest communication satellite, CMS-03, on board the Launch Vehicle Mark-3 (LVM3-M5) from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota
- After the 24-hour countdown concluded, the 43.5 metre tall rocket soared into the skies at the fixed time of 5.26 pm from the second launch pad at the spaceport, about 135 km from Chennai.
- The multi-band communication satellite, weighing 4410kg, also called as GSAT-7R, will provide services over a wide oceanic region and the Indian landmass.
- ISRO signed the Rs 1,589-crore contract to develop the satellite for the navy in 2019. This satellite will replace GSAT-7 Rukmini, which was launched in 2013.
- With this launch, India aims to enhance its maritime connectivity, boost disaster response capabilities, even in remote coastal locations, and reinforce its space independence in launching heavy indigenously made satellites.

- On November 1, 2025, Northern Railway has allotted multipurpose stalls at six stations in Jammu and Kashmir—Banihal, Anantnag, Srinagar, Sangaldan, Budgam, and Baramulla—for five years, expected to generate ₹79.43 lakh. The stalls will sell medicines, books, newspapers, cosmetics, toys, and daily-use items.
- Acoording to report this marks the first e-auction-based allotment in the Jammu Division, ensuring transparency, maximizing revenue, and creating local employment opportunities. Officials said the move supports cultural integration and financial sustainability while enhancing the passenger experience.
- Through the same e-auction, a Second Luggage Rake (SLR) for train number 12414 was allotted for ₹1.08 crore over three years. The initiative is part of Indian Railways’ strategy to monetise station spaces and promote regional culture
785. India introduces first home-grown condition-monitoring system for marine diesel engines
- On October 31, 2025 It was reported that, During Maritime India Week 2025, IRS signed an MoU with Neptunus Power Plant Services to launch home-grown engine condition-monitoring solutions for marine diesel systems in India.
- IRS and Neptunus will jointly develop CBM frameworks and standards; systems like VIB 360 and Torque Sense SHAPOLI enable real-time fault detection, predictive maintenance, and fuel optimisation across fleets.
- These are the first IRS-certified indigenous technologies for the marine sector, reducing foreign dependency, promoting digital and green shipping, and strengthening India’s export-ready maritime ecosystem.
786. Defence Research and Development Organisation hands over 12 tech transfer agreements to industry partners in Bengaluru
- During the inaugural session of SAMANVAY-2025 in Bengaluru, On October 29, 2025, DRDO handed over 12 technology transfer agreements covering eight advanced defence products to Indian industry partners.
- The event, organised by DRDO’s Electronics and Communication Systems Cluster, brought together 150+ industry participants, focusing on R&D collaboration, policy reforms, and innovation, especially for startups and MSMEs.
- Technologies transferred included the D-29 Electronic Warfare Suite, Sarang ESM System, laser guidance, and satcom terminals. Recipients included BEL, BDL, and private firms like DH Limited, Nibe Ltd, and Panacea Medical Technologies.
787. India's electronics exports spike around 42% in first half of this fiscal
- On October 30 2025, It was reported that, During April-September 2025, India’s electronics exports rose 41.9% to USD 22.2 billion, compared to USD 15.6 billion in the same period of 2024, highlighting strong trade growth.
- Led by smartphone exports, which grew 58% to USD 13.38 billion, India’s expanding manufacturing ecosystem and government support have boosted its presence in global supply chains.
- In FY 2024-25, total electronics exports reached USD 38.6 billion, marking a 32.6% annual rise, positioning India as the world’s third-largest smartphone exporter.

788. Tripura Crosses 4 MW Mark in Rooftop Solar Power Generation; Installed in Over 1,200 Homes
- On October 31, 2025 It was reported that, Tripura achieved over 4 MW solar power generation through rooftop installations under the Pradhan Mantri Suryaghar Muft Bijli Yojana, marking a key milestone in the state’s renewable energy mission.
- Implemented by Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited (TSECL), the scheme enables households to generate solar energy, feed surplus to the grid, and earn directly, fostering community participation in clean energy production.
- 16,965 households registered, 1,210 installed systems, and 187 consumers sold power worth ₹53,514. The project promotes self-reliance, rural empowerment, and an eco-friendly, future-ready Tripura through decentralized solar energy adoption.
789. Assam Launches Cashless Healthcare Scheme For State Employees And Pensioners
- On October 29, 2025, in Guwahati, Chief Minister of Assam launched the cashless healthcare facility under AA-MMLSAY for government employees, pensioners, and dependents.
- The Assam government implemented the scheme through a self-sustaining, employee-contribution model, allowing cashless treatment at empanelled hospitals across Assam and India, while retaining the reimbursement system for a smooth transition.
- About 2.23 lakh employees and 6,172 pensioners are registered; ₹65 crore has been reimbursed so far; the scheme’s reach may grow to 8 lakh beneficiaries. The CM also announced a state Pay Commission for parity with central employees.

790. Odisha signs ₹12,200 crore MoU to develop two national waterways for bulk cargo logistics
- On October, 28, 2025, during India Maritime-2025 in Mumbai, the Odisha government signed an MoU to develop and operate National Waterways-5 and 64 for enhanced inland water transport.
- The MoU was signed among IWAI, Odisha government, PPA, and MCL; the project will be implemented through Inland Waterways Consortium of Odisha Ltd (IWCOL), with IWAI leading infrastructure development and clearances.
- With an investment of ₹12,200 crore, the project will enable coal and bulk cargo movement from Talcher to Paradip and Dhamra ports, reduce logistics costs, ease rail-road congestion, and promote eco-friendly transport.
