2541. Stalin inaugurates Godrej’s ₹515-crore plant
- on (March 10, 2025) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister inaugurated Godrej Consumer Products Limited’s ₹515-crore manufacturing facility in Thiruporur taluk of Chengalpattu district near Chennai.
- Speaking at the event, Mr. Stalin said the facility showed Godrej Group’s trust in Tamil Nadu. “Tamil Nadu is a key market for fast-moving consumer products as many companies have set up their bases here. Tamil Nadu is a favoured destination for investors.
- The facility plans to employ 50% women and 5% of employees from LGBTQIA+ communities and persons with disabilities. This commitment aligns with Tamil Nadu’s vision of inclusive and equitable industrial growth.

2543. Assam signs Rs 2.23 lakh crore worth of MoUs; focus on MSMEs & indigenous businesses
- On February 26, 2025, Assam signed 268 MoUs worth Rs 2.23 lakh crore at the Advantage Assam 2.0 summit, with 232 financial MoUs and 36 non-financial agreements focused on knowledge and skill development.
- The Assam Cabinet has already approved Rs 1.22 lakh crore in investments, prioritizing MSMEs, indigenous businesses, and rural enterprises.

2545. Advantage Assam 2.0 secures Rs 174.09 crore investment in Dhubri, driving industrial growth
- On February 24, 2025, Advantage Assam 2.0 secured ₹174.09 crore in investments from 56 investors across key sectors in Dhubri District, creating employment opportunities.
- Industries sector leads with ₹168.43 crore, focusing on ice cream, chips, rice mills, steel furniture, malls, cold storage, and multiplexes. Additional investments cover agriculture, fisheries, handloom, and veterinary sectors.

2546. Vedanta Group to Invest Rs 50,000 Cr in Assam & Tripura's Oil & Gas Sector
- On February 25, 2025, Vedanta Chairman Anil Agarwal announced a Rs 50,000 crore investment in Assam and Tripura's oil & gas sector at the Advantage Assam 2.0 summit.
- Vedanta’s Cairn Oil & Gas has already invested Rs 2,500 crore in the region and aims to produce 1,00,000 barrels of oil & gas per day, boosting the hydrocarbon industry.

2547. Tata Power to invest Rs 30,000 crore in Assam, signs pact for 5 GW renewable projects
- On February 25, 2025, Tata Power signed an MoU with the Assam government to invest Rs 30,000 crore over five years for 5 GW of solar, wind, hydro, and energy storage projects.
- Assam will provide 20,000 acres of land, single-window clearances, and infrastructure support to facilitate seamless renewable energy adoption and promote Renewable Energy Parks.
- Tata Power Renewable Energy also signed an MoU with APDCL to expand rooftop solar under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, creating 3,000 direct jobs and boosting Assam’s clean energy transition.

2548. Arunachal Farmers to Receive Rs 226.46 Crore Under PM-KISAN Scheme
- On February 24, 2025, PM released the 19th installment of PM-KISAN, transferring Rs 226.46 crore to Arunachal Pradesh farmers as part of the nationwide Rs 22,000 crore disbursal.
- The scheme provides Rs 6,000 annually in three installments, benefiting 9.8 crore farmers, with Rs 2,000 directly deposited into their bank accounts.
- Arunachal Agriculture Minister Gabriel D Wangsu joined the virtual event, while KVKs organized exhibitions on natural farming, organic farming, and GI-tagged products.

2549. PSLV-C20 successfully launches 7 satellites
- On 26 February, 2013, Indo-French oceanographic study satellite ‘SARAL’ and six foreign mini and micro satellites were successfully launched ISRO’s PSLV-C20 rocket from this spaceport.
- The 410-kg SARAL with payloads—Argos and Altika—from French space agency CNES is meant for study of ocean parameters towards enhancing the understanding of the ocean state conditions.
- Besides SARAL, two micro-satellites UniBRITE and BRITE from Austria, AAUSAT3 from Denmark, STRaND from the United Kingdom, one micro-satellite (NEOSSat) and one mini-satellite (SAPPHIRE) from Canada were launched by PSLV, which yet again proved its versatality recording its twenty second successful flight in a row in its 23 missions of which the first one had failed.

2550. Isro's PSLV-C23 carrying French, German satellites successfully launched
- On 30 June, 2014, India successfully launched five foreign satellites from four countries on board PSLV-C23 rocket which placed them in orbit, an achievement described by Prime Minister Narendra Modi as an 'endorsement' of the country's space capabilities.
- Besides its primary payload of 714 kg French Earth Observation Satellite SPOT-7, PSLV C23 carried and placed in orbit 14 kg AISAT of Germany, NLS7.1 (CAN-X4) and NLS7.2 (CAN-X5) of Canada each weighing 15 kg and the 7 kg VELOX-1 of Singapore.
- NLS 7.1 and NLS 7.2 are from the University of Toronto, Institute of Aerospace Studies/ Space Flight Laboratory in Canada. Both payloads would perform Two-spacecraft precision formation flying using differential GPS with centimetre-level relative position and sub-metre level accurate position control system.
