1611. Electronics push: Centre gets ₹8,000 cr proposals for components scheme
- On July 7, 2025, The government received nearly ₹8,000 crore in proposals under the Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme with around 100 applications from Indian and global firms seeking to build manufacturing units.
- The applications are now under review with the first batch of official approvals expected to begin by late August or early September 2025 and a project management agency being finalized to oversee the rollout.
- The ₹22,911 crore, six year scheme targets local production of critical electronics like PCBs and lithium ion cells. Incentives will be based on job creation, capital expenditure and turnover with a specific push for manufacturing bare components and sub-assemblies.

1612. Railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announces four Amrit Bharat trains for Bihar
- On July 8, 2025, Railway Minister announced four new Amrit Bharat trains for Bihar including a daily service between Patna and New Delhi, along with three new weekly routes connecting Darbhanga, Malda, Saharsa, Lucknow and Amritsar.
- The central government has allocated ₹10,000 crore to strengthen railway infrastructure in Bihar focusing on station upgrades, track doubling and modern amenities.
- A new long distance passenger train between Jogbani and Erode was also introduced aimed at improving interstate travel and enhancing rail connectivity across key regions.
1613. Bandipora Gets Over Rs 41 Crore for Development Under 2025–26 Capex Plan
- On July 7, 2025, it was reported that the Jammu and Kashmir Government allocated over Rs 41 crore for developmental works in Bandipora district under the 2025–26 District Capex Plan, covering DDC, BDC, PRI, and Aspirational Grants, as announced during a meeting chaired by DDC Chairperson.
- The funds include Rs 10 crore for DDC grants (483 works, 139 spillovers), Rs 3 crore for BDC grants (107 works, 30 spillovers), Rs 25 crore for PRI grants (1,488 works, 579 spillovers), Rs 2 crore for Aspirational Block Development, and Rs 1.2 crore for Aspirational Panchayat Development, with Rs 1.04 crore available for new projects.
- Chairperson emphasised prioritising public needs, timely fund release, inter-departmental coordination, transparency, and innovative implementation to ensure effective grassroots development, aligning with broader J&K initiatives like the Back2Village program.
1614. Assam CM inaugurates Rs 112 crore Rukminigaon flyover in Guwahati
- On July 6, 2025, it was reported that Assam Chief Minister, alongside Agriculture Minister, inaugurated the Rs 112 crore Bhagadatta Flyover-2 at Rukminigaon in Guwahati, a 660-meter, four-lane structure to ease traffic congestion on the Dispur–Six Mile corridor.
- Completed in a record nine months against an 18-month schedule, the flyover, built by RITES India Limited using advanced composite structure technology, cost Rs 88 crore for core construction, with the remainder for allied infrastructure.
- The flyover is part of a broader infrastructure push, with upcoming projects like flyovers at Ganeshguri, Arya Nagar, and Bharalumukh, and the Guwahati–North Guwahati bridge by January 2026, as announced by CM Sarma, aligning with Assam’s goal to become a regional employment hub.
- Named after King Bhagadatta of ancient Pragjyotishpur, the flyover (with the Super Market flyover renamed Bhagadatta Flyover-1) honors Assam’s heritage while enhancing urban connectivity, with parking added underneath for local businesses

1615. Arunachal gets Rs 5.7 cr boost for development projects across key sectors
- On July 6, 2025, it was reported that the North Eastern Council (NEC) sanctioned over Rs 5.7 crore for development projects in Arunachal Pradesh, targeting sectors like health, education, tourism, agriculture, and indigenous culture.
- Key initiatives include fisheries development in Aalo East (West Siang), a Signature View Point in Ziro (Lower Subansiri), a 60-bed nursing hostel at TRIHMS, a new Government Higher Secondary School in Dirang (West Kameng), and efforts to preserve indigenous languages.
- Additional funding under NESIDS allocated Rs 5.38 crore for a road from Riaga to Sango Village and Rs 3 crore for the Likwa Gyadi-Gyawepurang road in East Kameng, while two NEC-funded road projects in Tawang, including a 15-km stretch to Rho Village, were completed, boosting tourism and defence connectivity.
- The projects align with Arunachal’s broader development goals, including the Vibrant Villages Programme-II, with Rs 6,839 crore to enhance border infrastructure and livelihoods, ensuring sustainable growth and tribal welfare.

1616. Arunachal releases Rs 111 crore scholarship for over 40,000 students for 2024–25
- On July 6, 2025, it was reported that the Arunachal Pradesh government released Rs 111.11 crore in scholarships for 40,090 students for the 2024–25 academic year, reinforcing its commitment to supporting education, particularly for tribal students.
- The scholarship funds, covering Pre-Matric and Post-Matric schemes for Scheduled Tribe (ST) students, will be credited to beneficiaries’ bank accounts within five days, pending technical clearance via the National Scholarship Portal (NSP), with 45,125 students covered so far, including 5,035 previously processed.
- The scholarship, managed by the Department of Social Justice, Empowerment and Tribal Affairs, aims to reduce financial barriers, support professional courses, and empower ST students, aligning with the state’s broader educational infrastructure push, including smart classrooms and residential schools.

1617. IET Establishes Green Hydrogen And Electric Vehicle Centres Of Excellence

1618. India Advances Railway Communication Upgrade with TRAI Spectrum
- On July 7, 2025, TRAI backed an extra 5 MHz in the 700 MHz band to boost Indian Railways safety systems like Kavach and LTE based communication.
- TRAI rejected auction pricing saying railway spectrum should be priced differently since it's for public safety not profit.
- The move will help trains share live CCTV and alerts without relying on mobile networks, improving crisis response.
1619. H&H Aluminium inaugurates Rs 150 crore solar panel frame plant in Gujarat
- On July 4, 2025, H&H Aluminium, a Gujarat-based solar panel frame manufacturer, has opened its largest plant in India, valued at Rs 150 crore, with a manufacturing capacity of 24,000 MT per annum.
- The 28,000 square feet plant, generating employment for 300 and generating Rs 700-750 crore per annum, is set to commence commercial production in India.
- The Indian government aims to install 500 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030, with 280 GW from solar power. The company, with a first-mover advantage, plans to expand domestically and export to Europe and America.
1620. DRDO, AIIMS-Rishikesh ink MoU for clinical trials in field of biomedical devices
- On July 6, 2025, an institute of the DRDO has signed an agreement with AIIMS, Rishikesh for conducting "clinical trials" and advanced research in the field of biomedical devices related to human performance in extreme environments.
- The collaboration between the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) will facilitate the development of products, technologies and strategies for the "mitigation of effects" of extreme environments on human performance.
