1521. Ahmedabad techie builds automated grenade detonation drone, Army orders 20 units
- On July 25, 2025, The Indian Army ordered 20 units of the drone, called "Gati,” after it passed a successful test in Pokhran, Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.
- Drone Gati weighs 2.5 kg, flies up to 7.5 km at 500 meters altitude and automatically removes the grenade’s pin and lever midair for precise detonation. The drone then safely returns to post-strike.
- Inspired by the difficulties of Operation Sindoor, the innovation aims to protect soldiers during modern warfare, improve deep strike capabilities and reduce battlefield casualties through automation and precision.
1522. Maharashtra launches new inter-state highway initiative to boost regional development and tourism

1523. Boost for Make in India: Bharat Dynamics wins Rs 809 crore missile contract from Armoured Vehicles Nigam
- On 24 July,2025 Hyderabad-based defence PSU Bharat Dynamics Ltd (BDL) announced that it has received a ₹809 crore order from Armoured Vehicles Nigam Ltd (AVNL) for supplying anti-tank guided missiles (ATGMs). The order is to be fulfilled over a three-year period and boosts India's indigenous defence capability.
- The order adds to BDL’s growing role in India’s defence manufacturing ecosystem under the government’s Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat initiatives.
- The contract from AVNL, a state-run entity under the Ministry of Defence, underscores ongoing efforts to ramp up indigenous missile production to meet the operational requirements of the armed forces.

1525. BEL bags order worth Rs 1640 cr from Indian Army
- On July 25, 2025, Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) received Rs 1,640 crore order from the Ministry of Defence, to supply Air Defence Fire Control Radars to the Indian Army.
- The radars are indigenously designed by DRDO and manufactured by BEL. The system is modular, equipped with Electronic Counter Measure (ECM) capabilities and easy to deploy, operate and maintain.
- Air Defence Fire Control radars will enhance the Indian Army’s air defence capabilities by enabling all weather, day-night surveillance, tracking of air targets and effective control of air defence guns.
1526. DRDO test-fires drone-launched missile
- On July 25, 2025, DRDO successfully test fired the UAV-Launched Precision Guided Missile (ULPGM) V3, also known as ULM-ER, at the National Open Area Range (NOAR) in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh.
- The flight trials took place in July 2025 and were announced by Defence Minister. The missile was designed and developed by DRDO in collaboration with MSMEs, start-ups, DcPPs, and manufactured by Adani and Bharat Dynamics Ltd (BDL).
- The ULPGM-V3 is a 12.5 kg fire and forget missile with imaging infrared (IR) seeker, dual thrust propulsion and two way datalink. It has a range of up to 4 km (day) and 2.5 km (night).

- On 25 September 2014, the Government of India launched the Make in India initiative, a visionary program introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to transform the country into a global manufacturing hub.

1528. Navy Launches Indigenous Diving Support Vessels ‘Nistar’ and ‘Nipun’ in Visakhapatnam
- On 22 September 2022, the Indian Navy launched two indigenous Diving Support Vessels (DSVs), ‘Nistar’ and ‘Nipun’, at Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL) in Visakhapatnam.
- These were the first-of-their-kind ships designed and built in Bharat with nearly 80% indigenous content.
- After their commissioning, INS Nistar and INS Nipun were tasked with critical operations such as deep-sea diving, submarine rescue, and search-and-rescue missions in the Indian Ocean Region.
- Both vessels are equipped with advanced diving support systems and a Deep Submergence Rescue Vessel (DSRV), and are capable of helicopter operations at sea.
1529. Tripura achieves 2 MW solar power milestone, sets 50 MW target for 2026
- On July 24, 2025, Tripura reached a 2 MW solar power generation milestone under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, with the Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited (TSECL) announcing a target of 50 MW by 2026 to enhance energy self-reliance.
- The scheme, launched on February 13, 2024, has seen 15,730 household registrations, with 591 solar installations completed and 516 beneficiaries receiving subsidies, enabling 117 consumers to achieve zero electricity bills and earn ₹43,545 by selling surplus power.
- TSECL promotes the initiative with subsidies up to ₹85,800, noting that a 1 kW solar system can generate 100 units monthly, offering both cost savings and income through grid contributions.

1530. Himanta Biswa Sarma launches over Rs 500-crore projects in Dibrugarh
- On July 24, 2025, Assam Chief Minister launched development projects worth over ₹500 crore in Dibrugarh, focusing on higher education, healthcare, and connectivity, as reported by multiple sources.
