1021. 'Dump truck': India calls out Pakistan’s ‘hypocrisy’ at UNHRC; cites Bin Laden, Pahalgam attack
- At the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva, India delivered a strong rebuke to Pakistan, stating it requires no guidance from a country that continues to support and harbour terrorist networks that pose threats to global security.
- "We are compelled, once again, to address provocations from a country whose own leadership recently likened it to a "dump truck", perhaps an inadvertently apt metaphor for a state that continues to deposit recycled falsehoods and stale propaganda before this distinguished Council,". ermanent Mission of India cousellor Kshitij Tyagi said on 9 September 2025.
- He highlighted the significance of 9/11's anniversary, noting the duplicity of those who provided sanctuary to its mastermind and later glorified him as a martyr, referring to Al Qaida leader Osama bin Laden, who was discovered and eliminated in Pakistan's Abbottabad by US forces. “Lest we forget Pulwama, Uri, Pathankot, Mumbai. The list is endless,” he added.
- Tyagi criticised Pakistan's presence at the forum, noting its continued support of networks that endanger global security, whilst expressing moral indignation.

1022. Kashmir to Kanyakumari in 19 Seconds: Parker Solar Probe sets speed record
- Between September 10–20, 2025, NASA’s Parker Solar Probe completed another close approach to the Sun, achieving a world-record speed of 6,87,000 km/h for the fourth time. At this pace, it could travel from Kashmir to Kanyakumari in 19 seconds.
- Built and operated by Johns Hopkins APL under NASA’s Living With a Star program, the probe collected unprecedented data from inside the Sun’s corona, focusing on solar wind, flares, and coronal mass ejections.
- NASA stated the mission’s findings will strengthen space weather forecasting, safeguard satellites, astronauts, aviation, and power grids, and support future human missions to the Moon and Mars.

1023. Rs 8,790 crore order book: Railway company receives an order worth Rs 78.65 crore from NTPC Ltd
- On September 22, 2025, RITES Ltd announced it has secured a rate contract from NTPC Limited worth an indicative ₹78.65 crore (excluding GST) to lease diesel locomotives for its power plants across India.
- This domestic contract allows NTPC stations to place purchase orders with RITES based on need, with the final value depending on requirements. Earlier, RITES also won a ₹25.30 crore, 24-month contract for NTPC’s Mouda Super Thermal Power Project covering MGR operations, S&T and track maintenance, and DU system handling.
- The deal strengthens RITES’ position as a key transport consultancy and engineering PSU, expanding its ₹8,790 crore order book. It supports NTPC’s logistics and operational efficiency while highlighting RITES’ role in India’s railway and infrastructure sector.

- बिहार के मुख्यमंत्री ने 21 सितंबर 2025 को राजेन्द्र नगर में 21 एकड़ में नवनिर्मित डॉ. एपीजे अब्दुल कलाम साइंस सिटी का उद्घाटन किया।

- साइंस सिटी में 500 सीटों वाला प्रेक्षागृह, 150 शैय्या वाला डॉरमेट्री, मुक्ताकाश रंगमंच, कैफेटेरिया, वाहन पड़ाव और 150 किलोवाट सोलर पैनल लगाए जा रहे हैं, साथ ही पाँच बड़ी गैलरियों में विज्ञान प्रदर्शों की स्थापना की गयी है।
1025. India hits a major tech milestone:Union Minister launches ARM Bengaluru office to develop India’s first 2nm chip, a landmark in semiconductor growth
- On 21 september,2025, it was reported that Union Minister of IT inaugurated ARM’s new semiconductor design office in Bengaluru, India’s first 2-nanometre (nm) chip design centre, marking a key milestone in the nation’s transition from assembling to designing advanced chips.
- The India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) approved 10 major projects across six states, with ₹1.6 lakh crore investments. Startups under the Design Linked Incentive (DLI) Scheme and 278 colleges are developing chips, while ARM’s Bengaluru office focuses on AI, mobile, high-performance, and defence applications.
- India previously launched 3nm chip centres in Noida and Bengaluru. 7nm and 5nm designs now advance to 3nm and 2nm, boosting energy efficiency, processing speed, and strategic capabilities. The domestic semiconductor market is projected at $100–110 billion by 2030.

1026. Modi lays foundation of India’s 1st freight village:Ramnagar's project to feature modern dry-dock facility & boost inland water transport
- On September 20, 2025 Prime Minister virtually laid the foundation stone for a modern ship repair centre and India’s first freight village on the plains at Ramnagar, Varanasi.
- Being part of the 'Prosperity from the Sea' mission, the project aims to boost water transport and support a self-reliant India. Uttar Pradesh Transport Minister attended the inauguration.
- PM inaugurated a ₹200 crore multi-modal terminal at Ramnagar, Varanasi, and laid the foundation of a ₹300 crore ship repair engineering college to create jobs for Purvanchal youth.
- On this occasion, the Prime Minister also laid the online foundation stone for the country's first freight village, which will be developed in the Ralhupur area of Ramnagar. The acquisition of approximately 100 hectares of land has been completed and the project is expected to gain momentum soon.
1027. Piyush Goyal launches six initiatives to boost logistics and trade competitiveness
- On September 20, 2025, Commerce and Industry Minister launched six initiatives to mark the 10th anniversary of Make in India, unveiling a commemorative coin and strengthening India’s industrial and logistics ecosystem nationwide.
- The initiatives led by DPIIT with ADB support include Logistics Data Bank 2.0, Industrial Park Rating System 3.0, LEADS 2025, Integrated State and City Logistics Plans, HSN Code guidebook, and a logistics cost assessment report. They aim to improve infrastructure, digital tracking, and global competitiveness.
- India attracted $667 billion FDI (2014–24) and has 1.8 lakh startups with 118 unicorns. PLI schemes (₹1.97 lakh crore) and Positive Indigenisation Lists boosted defence, pharma, electronics, semiconductor, and mobile manufacturing, creating millions of jobs and reducing import dependency.

1028. Digital Agriculture Mission Launched with Rs 2,817 Crore Outlay
- India’s Union Cabinet Committee approved the Digital Agriculture Mission with an outlay of Rs 2,817 crore, including the central government’s share of Rs 1,940 crore, as per a press release by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare on September 2, 2024.
- It is an umbrella scheme aimed at supporting digital agriculture initiatives, such as creating Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI), implementing the Digital General Crop Estimation Survey (DGCES), and taking up other IT initiatives by various governments.
- The new Agriculture DPI will gather information on farmers like their backgrounds, land, and crops, covering both landowners and tenant farmers, as per the state government’s plan.
- The Krishi Decision Support System will collect data on crops, soil, weather, water resources, etc., while the Soil Profile Mapping will create maps of about 142 million hectares of India’s agricultural land. A detailed soil profile inventory of about 29 million hectares has already been completed.
1029. Govt extends PMKSY till FY26 with outlay of ₹93,068 crore
- The government has extended the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY), launched in 1 July 2015 to improve farm productivity by four years till 2025-26 to complete ongoing projects. The programme entails additional spending of ₹93,068 crore.
- On 15 December 2021, the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) approved central support of ₹37,454 crore to states and ₹20,434.56 crore for servicing debt for loans availed by the Centre for irrigation development during 2016-21.
- The government also approved the Accelerated Irrigation Benefit Programme (AIBP), Har Khet ko Pani (HKKP), and watershed development components of the PMKSY for four years to 2025-26. Under the AIBP, which offers financial support to irrigation projects, the government aims to extend irrigation to 1.39 million hectares by 2025-26.
- Under the HKKP, which aims to expand the cultivable area under assured irrigation, the government plans to bring 450,000 hectares under irrigation through minor projects and rejuvenation of water bodies.
1030. Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maandhan Yojana completes 5 years
- The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maandhan Yojana (PM-KMY), launched on September 12, 2019, has successfully completed five years of providing social security to land-holding small and marginal farmers (SMFs) across India. This scheme aims to ensure a pension for farmers, offering financial support and security in their old age.
- Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maandhan Yojna (PM-KMY), is an old-age pension scheme. This is a voluntary and contributory pension scheme. Under the initiative, eligible small and marginal farmers are given a fixed monthly pension of Rs 3,000 after attaining the age of 60.
- Under PM-KMY, small and marginal farmers can enroll by paying a monthly subscription to the pension fund. Farmers aged between 18 and 40 years need to contribute between Rs 55 to Rs 200 per month until they turn 60.
- As of August 6, 2024, a total of 23.38 lakh farmers have joined the scheme. Under the scheme, Bihar leads with over 3.4 lakh registrations while Jharkhand ranks second with over 2.5 lakh registrations. Further, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha have over 2.5 lakh, 2 lakh, and 1.5 lakh farmer registrations, respectively.
