2221. Taj Mahal brings in Rs 297 crore in 5 years, tops ASI monument earnings
- On 4 April 2025 The iconic Taj Mahal continues to be the top revenue-generating monument among those protected by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), bringing in Rs 297 crore through ticket sales over the 2020 to 2025 financial years,
- Taj Mahal remains one of India’s most visited and admired heritage sites, drawing millions of tourists each year .
- monument-wise and year-wise revenue generated from ticket sales across ASI-protected monuments. He provided the figures in tabular form, covering five years. In FY19-20, Agra Fort and Qutub Minar followed the Taj Mahal in revenue.
- During FY20-21, amid pandemic disruptions, Tamil Nadu’s Group of Monuments at Mamallapuram and Odisha’s Sun Temple in Konark took the second and third spots.The consistent high earnings from the Taj Mahal underline its enduring global appeal and pivotal role in India’s cultural tourism economy.

2222. DoT introduces lost smartphone tracking on trains
- On 4 April 2025 The DoT has teamed up with the Railway Protection Force (RPF) to help recover lost mobile devices.
- The collaborative effort will streamline the process of locating phones that are misplaced either in transit or at the station.
- This initiative from the Department of Telecommunications brings much-needed relief to millions of daily travelers. With the new system in place, passengers can quickly block their lost phones using the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal, making it easier to track stolen devices.
- In addition, many helpful services are available through the Sanchar Saathi app, which the Department of Telecommunications launched recently. This government app allows users to block lost phones, check the active numbers registered in their name, and report any calls from suspicious internet numbers.
2223. मेघालय: पूर्व का स्कॉटलैंड और प्राकृतिक सौंदर्य की भूमि
- 2 अप्रैल, 1970 को मेघालय एक स्वायत्त राज्य के रूप में अस्तित्व में आया। इसे 1969 के असम पुनर्गठन अधिनियम के तहत स्वायत्त राज्य का दर्जा दिया गया था। इसके बाद, 21 जनवरी, 1972 को मेघालय को भारत का एक पूर्ण राज्य बना दिया गया। यह राज्य उत्तर-पूर्वी भारत में स्थित है और इसकी लंबाई लगभग 300 किलोमीटर तथा चौड़ाई 100 किलोमीटर तक फैली हुई है। मेघालय की राजधानी शिलांग है, जो समुद्र तल से 1496 मीटर की ऊंचाई पर स्थित है।

2224. Indian Railways Reports 9% Annual Growth with 7,134 Coaches Manufactured in 2024-25
- On 4 April 2025 Indian Railways has achieved a significant milestone in the financial year 2024-25 by manufacturing 7,134 coaches, which is a 9% increase from the 2024 according to the ministry of railways .
- In 2023-24, the production was 6,541 coaches. This growth highlights India's focus on modernising its Railway infrastructure to accommodate rising passenger needs.

2225. 3,090 MW Hydropower Projects Under Construction in Jammu Kashmir: Govt
- On April 3, 2025, Union Minister of Power, informed the Lok Sabha that five hydroelectric projects with a total capacity of 3,090 MW are currently under construction in Jammu & Kashmir.
- Hydroelectric Projects Under Development: Ratle Hydroelectric Project – 850 MW Pakal Dul Hydroelectric Project – 1,000 MW Kiru Hydroelectric Project – 624 MW Kwar Hydroelectric Project – 540 MW Parnai Hydroelectric Project – 38 MW

2226. Centre making huge investments in solar power projects in Ladakh
- On April 2, 2025, Union Minister of State for New & Renewable Energy and Power, informed the Parliament that the Government of India is making massive investments in solar energy projects in Ladakh.

2227. J&K’s IT sector generated Rs 42.12 cr in export revenue in 2023-24
- On April 2, 2025, Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, Jitin Prasada, informed the Parliament that Jammu and Kashmir recorded Rs 42.12 crore in export revenue for the fiscal year 2023-24 from the IT and automobile sectors.

2228. ACME Solar secures ₹2,491 crore refinancing for renewable projects
- On 3 April 2025,ACME Solar Holdings, a leading renewable energy company in India, has secured a ₹2,491 crore long-term project finance facility to refinance its 490 MW operational renewable energy projects across three states, the company announced.
- The refinancing, secured from State Bank of India (SBI) and Rural Electrification Corporation (REC), covers projects in Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan and Punjab with a weighted average interest rate of 8.8 per cent. The facility extends for 18-20 years, matching the projects’ operational lifespans.
- ACME Solar Holdings, the flagship business of the diversified ACME Group, currently operates 2,540 MW of renewable energy capacity. The company has set an ambitious target of expanding to 6,970 MW capacity within the next three years.
2229. Indian defence firm inks MoU with Israeli company to bring advanced drone camera tech to country
- On 3 April 2025, An Indian defence firm has signed an MoU with an Israeli company to bring advanced drone camera technology to the country.
- The Indian firm will bring indigenous content into these drone cameras and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) payloads, improving the country’s self-reliance while lowering costs, the statement said.
- Offered two models, whose usual import price is “around Rs 20 lakh and Rs 40 lakh per unit.” Paras Defence “anticipates a 50-60 percent price reduction for each model,” making advanced surveillance technology more accessible to Indian defence forces and commercial applications.
2230. Nearly 3000 startups will be participating at Startup Mahakumbh 2025
- On 3 APRIL 2025 the highly anticipated second edition of 'Startup Mahakumbh' set to take place at Bharat Mandapam Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) that nearly 3000 startups will be participating this time in the event.
- "This year's Startup Mahakumbh is bigger and better than last year. Pavillions have been set up in area double than last year's. Nearly 3000 startups will be participating this time, as compared to 1500 last year. Masterclasses will be organised this year. Delegates from 64 countries are coming to take part in it.
- Tribal entrepreneurs are also set to take the stage with participation from 45+ startups, including those incubated at IIM Calcutta, IIM Kashipur, and IIT Bhilai.
