21831. Ashok Leyland to supply 200 trucks to Bangladesh govt
- Ashok Leyland, the flagship of Hinduja Group, has announced the supply of 200 trucks to the Bangladesh government. These trucks will be a part of a project from India under a $ 2 billion line of credit announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
- Ashok Leyland had won the tender floated by Bangladesh government for 135 fully built trucks comprising three tonne trucks, hydraulic beam lifter and sewerage sucker which have already been handed over from India to the roads and highways department in the current financial year.
- Ashok Leyland is one of the leading commercial vehicle brands in Bangladesh and has more than 50 touch points across the nation. Apart from supplying many vehicles from India, the company also assembles their range of trucks, buses, and LCV vehicles locally at IFAD Auto Dhamrai plant in Bangladesh.

21832. India exported $1.02 billion worth of tractors in Apr-Dec 2021
- India exported tractors worth USD1.025 billion during the first nine months of the current financial year, the Commerce and Industry Ministry said
- India’s export of tractors rose by more than 72 per cent to $1025 Million during April-December 2021 compared to $594 million during April-December 2013.
- The major destination for export of tractors is USA (25.2 per cent), Nepal (7.3 per cent), Bangladesh (6.5 per cent), Thailand (5.4 per cent) and Sri Lanka (5.3 per cent), according to data released by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

21833. India signs deals to export 4.6 million tonnes sugar in 2021/22, says trade body
- Dalmia Bharat Sugar and Industries | The company clocked higher profit at Rs 56.58 crore in Q3FY22 against Rs 37.10 crore in Q3FY21, revenue rose to Rs 615.67 crore from Rs 605.78 crore YoY.
- Indian mills have signed contracts to export 4.6 million tonnes of sugar in the 2021/22 marketing year without government subsidies, a leading trade body said .
- Mills have already dispatched 3.7 million tonnes since the start of the marketing year on Oct. 1, but in the past few weeks they have struggled to dispatch on time owing to scarcity of railway freight trains, the All India Sugar Trade Association (AISTA) said.

21834. Telangana: Rail coach factory established by private group ready for inauguration
- Telangana state will soon have one of the largest private rail coach factories in the country. State Industries Minister K Taraka Ramarao tweeted this stating that the rail coach factory established by a private group at Kondakal in Rangareddy district is ready for inauguration soon.
- The thousand-crore rupees project will manufacture rail coaches, locomotives, intercity train sets, metro trains and monorails.
- The facility has an annual capacity to manufacture 500 coaches of various types and 50 locomotives and provide over two thousand jobs.
21835. Union Bank Q3 net rises nearly 50% to Rs 1,085cr
- Union Bank of India reported a net profit of Rs 1,085 crore for the quarter ended December 2021, an increase of 49.3% over Rs 727 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
- Total deposits of the bank stood at Rs 9.4 lakh crore at the end of the December quarter, an increase of 6.2% over Rs 8.8 lakh crore at the end of the corresponding year-ago quarter. The low-cost current and savings account deposits grew faster at 11% to Rs 3.5 lakh crore. The bank’s advances rose 2.7% to Rs 6.7 lakh crore from Rs 6.5 lakh crore a year earlier.
- The profits rose on the back of an 8.9% increase in net interest income (NII) to Rs 7,174 crore in the third quarter, up from Rs 6,590 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. NII grew faster than credit on the back of improved margins. The net interest margin was 3% in Q3FY22, up from 2.94% in Q3FY21.

- The government today said 24 crore 75 lakh unorganized workers have been registered on eSHRAM portal till 1st of this month. I
- all eligible registered unorganized workers are entitled to get the benefit of an accidental insurance cover of two lakh rupees for a year free of cost through Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana.
- the registered workers on eSHRAM are also nudged to take benefit of Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan pension scheme and NPS-Traders pension scheme. the bank accounts of workers on eSHRAM portal are seeded to provide benefits of welfare schemes, if any, directly to their bank account.

21839. Assam has attracted 16 ethanol projects worth Rs 3,290 crore: Himanta Biswa Sarma.
- Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday held a meeting with the promoters of seven ethanol manufacturing entities who came forward under Assam Ethanol Production Promotion Policy, 2021 to set up their plants in the state.
- Since the declaration of the State Ethanol Policy in August 2021, Assam has attracted 16 ethanol projects worth Rs 3,290 crore as a fallout of a consortium of OMCs floated bids for long term ethanol procurement.Assam attracted 16 ethanol projects worth Rs 3,290 crore.During the meet held at Chief Minister's office in Janata Bhawan in Guwahati, the promoters apprised the Chief Minister of their latest developments and different issues they are facing.

21840. Over 75 J&K villages being brought under 'Tourist Village Network' programme: officials
- The J&K administration on Monday said it "aims to rejuvenate and transform more than 75 villages in the union territory by promoting tourism and giving sustainable employment for the youth"
- The programme is part of the Tourist Village Network program under Mission Youth to ensure balanced and equitable development of tourism sector across the length and breadth of the UT. The government has launched this program to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of Independence under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
- The initiative launched under the Mission Youth "will work towards giving a facelift to the 75 villages that are already famous for their historical background, picturesque landscape and cultural importance, " a J&K spokesman said.As per the spokesman, the initiative is "destined to promote homestays across the UT" and "will strengthen the rural economy in the region, turn youth into entrepreneurs and empower women by offering numerous opportunities of employment".
