2161. SRO to build military satellites for surveillance and intelligence
- On 10 April 2025 India has taken a big step toward this future, as Chief of Defence Staff General announced plans to launch several satellites for intelligence and surveillance during the Indian DefSpace Symposium in Delhi.
- These satellites will be built by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and will boost the military’s ability to watch and listen from space.
- The military space doctrine will also be ready in three months, guiding how these tools will be used. With India’s long borders and strategic needs, this move shows how seriously the nation is taking space as a new frontier for defence.
- The satellites play two key roles watching over vast areas (surveillance) and gathering secret information (intelligence). Together, they give the military a powerful advantage in today’s fast-moving world.

2162. Indian Railways Launches Its First Transgender Tea Stall At Guwahati Railway Station
- On 10 March,2023 It was reported that, Guwahati Railway station in Assam is now home to India’s first transgender tea stall. The tea stall is fully managed by the transgender community.
- According to a report by NDTV, Northeast Frontier Railway took up the initiative to set up the ‘Trans tea stall’ at Guwahati Railway station.
- This tea stall is located on Platform number 1 at Guwahati Railway station. At the inauguration event, the Associate Vice Chairman of the Transgender Welfare Board of Assam, Swati Bidhan Baruah was also present.

2164. First time In Indian Railways 'Rail Rakshak Dal' Formed For Quick Rescue Operation
- On September 24, 2024 It was Reported that, the first time in Indian Railways 'Rail Rakshak Dal" has been formed amid several train accident incidents across the country.
- According to the Railways, the Rail Rakshak Dal will have employees of NDRF, RPF trained from Vadodara and Mechanical (Carriage and Wagon) department, who have been provided with equipment for disaster management and vehicles for travel.
- The rescue team, which will work under the control of the Railway Protection Force, will be utilised for rescue during train accidents and as requested by the state government.
2165. पौआखाली रेलवे स्टेशन पर पहली बार पहुंची ट्रेन:किशनगंज में देखने के लिए सैकड़ों लोगों की उमड़ी भीड़, करोड़ों की लागत से बनी नई रेल
- 27 मार्च , 2025 को किशनगंज में गलगलिया से अररिया तक जाने के लिए नए रेल रूट का निर्माण किया गया है। जहां आज पौआखाली रेलवे स्टेशन पर पहली ट्रेन पहुंच चुकी है, इस स्टेशन पर पहली ट्रेन देखते हुए लोगों में काफी उत्साह है और रेल को देखने के लिए सैकड़ों की तादाद में लोगों की भीड़ उमड़ पड़ी है।
- इसका निर्माण कई फेज में किया जा रहा है, जहां पौआखाली तक पहली रेलगाड़ी पहुंच चुकी है। रेल अधिकारियों के अनुसार इस रेल गाड़ी का परिचालन ट्रायल के रूप में किया गया है।
- ज्ञात हो कि अररिया से गलगलिया रेल परियोजना की स्वीकृति रेल मंत्रालय द्वारा वित्तीय वर्ष 2004 - 05 में दी गई थी। मगर वर्ष 2019 में इस योजना को धरातल पर लाने की शुरुआत की गई, अररिया गलगलिया रेलवे लाइन की कुल लंबाई 110 किलोमीटर है।

- On 19 Jan 2025, Indian Railways establish rail connectivity across four districts of Jharkhand—Khunti, Simdega, Gumla, and Chatra—for the first time since the independence of India after 75 years.
- The Jharkhand Rail Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (JRIDCL) conducted the survey, proposing a rail line of 55 km from Lohardaga to Gumla, 43 km from Gumla to Simdega, 20 km from Hatia to Khunti, and 42 km from Hazaribagh to Chatra.
- The Union Cabinet approved three railway projects worth nearly Rs 6,500 crore in August 2024.
2168. रीवा से पहली बार सीधी पहुंची ट्रेन, 40 वर्ष बाद साकार हुआ सपना, जल्द जिला मुख्यालय पहुंचने की जगी उम्मीद
- 12 मार्च 2025 , को रीवा की सीमा को पार करते हुए पहली बार ट्रेन छुक-छुक करते हुए सीधी जिले के बघवार पहले स्टेशन पहुंची
- गौरतलब है करीब 40 वर्ष पहले साल 1985 मे ललितपुर सिंगरौली रेल लाइन परियोजना की आधारशिला रखी गई. इसके बाद से यह परियोजना अधर में लटकी हुई थी. यहां से निर्वाचित होकर जनप्रतिनिधि विधानसभा, लोकसभा और राज्यसभा में पहुंचे, लेकिन इस सपने को साकार होने में फिर भी 40 साल लग गए.
- सीधी जिला मुख्यालय में अगले साल तक रेलवे की पहुंचने की उम्मीद जग गई है. रीवा से सीधी जिले पहले रेलवे स्टेशन तक हुए सफल ट्रायल ने लोगों की उम्मीद को पंख दे दिए हैं.
2169. Astra: India's first indigenous BVR Air-to-Air missile
- On May 19, 2014, It was reported that, India's first indigenously developed Beyond Visual Range (BVR) Air-to-Air missile 'Astra' was lauched successfully. The air-launch was captured by side and forward looking high speed cameras.
- The Astra , which also finished a maximum head-on launch range of 100 kilometres, a speed of 4.5 Mach, and launch clearance up to 20 kilometres in height (66,000 ft).
- The importance of having an indigenous air-to-air BVR missile cannot be over-stated with IAF jets currently armed with very expensive Russian, French and Israeli missiles.
2170. Indian Air Force finally gets Tejas, the 'Made in India' Light Combat Aircraft, after a wait of 32 years
- On Jan 17, 2015 Thirty-two years after the project was sanctioned, the first indigenously -built Tejas Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) was handed over by Defence Minister to the Indian Air Force.
- The entire project by the DRDO and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited is estimated to cost over Rs 30,000 crore. The aircraft that has been handed over has got Initial Operational Clearance-II, which signifies that Tejas is airworthy in different conditions, sources said.
- The handover signals the start of a process of induction of the fighters being built at home under a project which has already cost the exchequer nearly Rs 8,000 crore
