1021. Maharashtra’s Samruddhi Expressway Becomes India’s 1st Indian Mega Highway To Generate Solar Power
- On 24 September, 2025 It was reported that, The Hindu Hridaysamrat Balasaheb Thackeray Maharashtra Samruddhi Mahamarg became India’s first expressway to generate solar power, at Karanja Lad, Washim district, and Mehkar interchange, Buldhana district, along the 701-km corridor connecting Nagpur and Mumbai.
- The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC), led by Vice-Chairman Anilkumar Gaikwad and JMD Manuj Jindal, implemented solar projects by installing 9MW capacity across interchanges, generating power to be sold to MSEDCL under an agreement.
- Power generation began with 3MW at Karanja Lad and 2MW at Mehkar, creating additional revenue beyond toll collection, earning carbon credits, with plans for 204MW solar capacity across various interchanges.

1022. बेंगलुरु: येदियुरप्पा ने वीर सावरकर फ्लाईओवर का किया उद्घाटन, विपक्ष ने नाम का जताया था विरोध
- कर्नाटक की बीजेपी सरकार ने बेंगलुरु के 47 वें फ्लाईओवर का उद्घाटन कर दिया गया है. इस फ्लाईओवर का नाम हिंदू विचारक विनायक दामोदर सावरकर के नाम पर रखा गया है.
- इस मौके पर 08 सितम्बर 2020, को मुख्यमंत्री ने उन्हें एक स्वतंत्रता सेनानी के रूप में याद किया और कहा कि उन्हें उनके योगदान का पूरा श्रेय नहीं मिला है. 400 मीटर लंबा फ्लाईओवर मई 2020 के महीने में तैयार हो गया था. बीजेपी ने इसका नाम सावरकर (Savarkar) के नाम पर रखने का फैसला किया था.
- अपने भाषण में येदियुरप्पा ने प्रत्येक स्वतंत्रता सेनानी के योगदान की सराहना करते हुए कहा, “देश ने आजादी की लड़ाई में अपने कई बहादुर बेटों को खोया है. बहुतों को उसके लिए सम्मान मिला लेकिन वीर सावरकर जैसे कुछ लोगों को उनके योगदान का पूरा श्रेय नहीं मिला. यह विडंबना है.”
1023. MCC approves report on naming Surathkal junction after Savarkar
- The council of Mangaluru City Corporation Council (MCC) approved its Town Planning and Reforms Standing Committee’s recommendation on naming a junction in Surathkal as Sri Vinayak Damodar Savarkar Circle.
- The standing committee members on February 15, 2022 had visited the spot and decided to recommend the council on naming the junction after Savarkar.
- The MCC will give publication to this effect in dailies and invite suggestions and objections from the public and then take a final decision.
1024. Andaman: पीएम मोदी ने पोर्ट ब्लेयर हवाई अड्डे के नए टर्मिनल भवन का किया उद्घाटन, 710 करोड़ रुपये से हुआ तैयार
- प्रधानमंत्री ने 18 जुलाई 2023 को वीडियो कॉन्फ्रेंसिंग के जरिए पोर्ट ब्लेयर में वीर सावरकर अंतरराष्ट्रीय हवाई अड्डे के नए टर्मिनल भवन का उद्घाटन किया। इस नए टर्मिनल भवन का निर्माण 710 करोड़ रुपये की लागत से हुआ है। कहा जा रहा है कि इससे केंद्र शासित प्रदेश में कनेक्टिविटी को रफ्तार मिलेगी।
- अंडमान-निकोबार द्वीप समूह से 710 करोड़ रुपये का हवाई अड्डा भारत को समर्पित किया जा रहा है। इससे दिल्ली-चेन्नई-विशाखापट्टनम के लिए कनेक्टिविटी होगी और आने वाले दिनों में इससे भी ज्यादा कनेक्टिविटी बढ़ेगी। इसके साथ ही 4 वाटर ड्रोन भी स्थापित किए जाएंगे। इससे अंडमान-निकोबार द्वीप समूह का आर्थिक विकास होगा।
- पोर्ट ब्लेयर में वीर सावरकर अंतर्राष्ट्रीय हवाई अड्डे की नई एकीकृत टर्मिनल बिल्डिंग से यात्रा में आसानी और व्यापार करने में आसानी के साथ-साथ कनेक्टिविटी भी मजबूत होगी।
- नए टर्मिनल भवन से पर्यटन को बढ़ावा मिलेगा और क्षेत्र की अर्थव्यवस्था सुदृढ़ होगी। “अब तक मौजूदा टर्मिनल की प्रतिदिन की क्षमता लगभग 4,000 यात्रियों को संभालने की थी, जबकि नए टर्मिनल के शुरू होने के बाद यह क्षमता बढ़कर लगभग 11,000 यात्रियों प्रतिदिन हो गई है।”
1025. Veer Savarkar's biography added to UP board syllabus, passing this subject compulsory
- The UP board syllabus has undergone a significant revision, with the inclusion of Veer Savarkar's biography as a compulsory subject for students. Alongside Veer Savarkar's biography, the UP board has expanded its curriculum to include the life stories of 50 more great men.
- This move aims to enrich students' knowledge and expose them to the diverse achievements and struggles of these eminent personalities. Notable figures such as Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay, Mahavir Jain, Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya, Arvind Ghosh, Raja Ram Mohan Roy, Sarojini Naidu, and Nana Saheb will be part of the curriculum.
- Veer Savarkar, a prominent freedom fighter and social reformer, played a crucial role in India's struggle for independence. The inclusion of Veer Savarkar's biography along with those of others comes with a crucial requirement for students. It will be mandatory for students to pass this subject.
1026. Mumbai's Versova-Bandra Sea Link renamed as Veer Savarkar Setu
- The Maharashtra Cabinet on 28 June 2023, decided to rename the Versova-Bandra Sea Link as Veer Savarkar Setu and the under-construction Mumbai Trans Harbour Link as Atal Bihari Vajpayee Smruti Nhava Sheva Atal Setu.
- Last month in 28 May 2023, Maharashtra Chief Minister had, on the 140th birth anniversary of the Hindutva ideologue, announced that the Versova-Bandra Sea Link would be named after Savarkar.
- The upcoming Versova-Bandra Sea link will connect Andheri to the Bandra-Worli Sea Link as part of the coastal road project. The Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (MTHL), India's longest sea bridge, will connect Mumbai to the mainland with a commute time of 12 to 15 minutes.
1027. कितना भव्य होगा वीर सावरकर कॉलेज और DU का ईस्ट-वेस्ट कैंपस? जिसकी PM मोदी ने रखी नींव
- 3 जनवरी 2025 प्रधानमंत्री ने, दिल्ली यूनिवर्सिटी (डीयू) में 600 करोड़ रुपये की लागत से बनने वाली तीन नई परियोजनाओं की आधारशिला रखी है. यह परियोजनाएं राजधानी के पूर्वी, पश्चिमी और दक्षिणी क्षेत्रों में विकसित की जाएंगी.
- इनमें सूरजमल विहार में पूर्वी परिसर (DU East Campus), द्वारका में पश्चिमी परिसर (DU West Campus) और नजफगढ़ के रोशनपुरा में वीर सावरकर कॉलेज का निर्माण शामिल है.
- नजफगढ़ के रोशनपुरा में वीर सावरकर के नाम पर बनने वाले कॉलेज का निर्माण लगभग 140 करोड़ रुपये की लागत से होगा. इसमें 24 क्लासरूम, 8 ट्यूटोरियल रूम, 40 फैकल्टी रूम, एक कैंटीन, डिपार्टमेंट लाइब्रेरी और कॉन्फ्रेंस रूम जैसी सुविधाएं शामिल होंगी. यह कॉलेज क्षेत्र के छात्रों के लिए उच्च शिक्षा का एक महत्वपूर्ण केंद्र बनेगा.
1028. 'अहमदाबाद बनेगा देश की खेल राजधानी', अमित शाह ने किया वीर सावरकर स्पोर्ट्स कॉम्प्लेक्स का उद्घाटन
- देश के खिलाड़ियों को शानदार सुविधाएं मिलें इसके लिए केन्द्रीय गृह एवं सहकारिता मंत्री ने 14 सितम्बर 2025, को गुजरात के नारणपुरा, अहमदाबाद में लगभग 825 करोड़ रुपए की लागत से निर्मित वीर सावरकर स्पोर्ट्स कॉम्प्लेक्स का उद्घाटन किया.
- वीर सावरकर स्पोर्ट्स कॉम्प्लेक्स भारत में सबसे बड़ा और विश्व में सबसे आधुनिक खेल परिसर है. केन्द्रीय गृह मंत्री ने कहा, "आज जिस स्पोर्ट्स कॉम्प्लेक्स का लोकार्पण किया गया, उसका नाम महान स्वतंत्रता सेनानी वीर सावरकर के नाम पर रखा गया है. उन्होंने कहा कि बहुत कम लोगों को पता होगा कि विश्व में सबसे लंबी तैराकी अगर किसी ने की है, तो वह वीर सावरकर थे.
- जब अंग्रेज वीर सावरकर को कैद करके भारत ला रहे थे, तब फ्रांस के निकट मार्सेल्स बंदरगाह (Marseille port) पर उन्होंने हाथ-पैर में बेड़ियों के रहते ही जहाज से समुद्र में छलांग लगा दी और तैरकर फ्रांस की धरती पर पहुँच गए. इससे अंग्रेज उन्हें तुरंत पकड़ न सके."
1029. Indian Navy scales up indigenous shipbuilding with 54 vessels under construction
- On September 22, 2025 it was reported that, The Indian Navy is undertaking its largest-ever shipbuilding programme, with 54 vessels currently under various stages of construction in Indian shipyards.
- The initiative is central to India’s long-term maritime strategy, aimed at safeguarding national interests and countering regional challenges from China and Pakistan.
- The Indian Navy, under Atmanirbhar Bharat, is transitioning from a “Buyer’s Navy” to a “Builder’s Navy,” commissioning up to 10 indigenous warships by December 2025 and reducing reliance on imports through high local content in projects.
- India targets a 200-plus warship fleet by 2035, potentially 230 by 2037. Recent milestones include commissioning INS Tamal, the last foreign-built frigate, and delivering Androth with 80% indigenous content, boosting employment and self-reliance in defence manufacturing.
1030. India slams Pakistan for raking up Kashmir issue in U.N.
- India strongly hit back at Pakistan on December 14 after it raised the Kashmir issue in the U.N. Security Council, asserting that a country that hosted slain al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden and attacked a neighbouring Parliament does not have the credentials to “sermonise” in the power U.N. organ.
- Indian External Affairs Minister said the credibility of the U.N. depends on its effective response to the key challenges of our times, be it pandemics, climate change, conflicts or terrorism.
- At the UN Security Council in New York, External Affairs Minister rejected Pakistan’s Kashmir remarks, saying a country that sheltered Osama bin Laden and attacked India’s Parliament lacks credibility. He reaffirmed J&K as India’s internal matter and stressed that terrorism cannot be normalised.
