1. Making umbrellas to fight malnutrition: PM Modi praises Kerala's tribal women
- Around 30 women from Attappady tribal area of Palakkad in Kerala are involved in making Karthumbi umbrellas. It was started in 2014 by Thampu, an NGO working for tribal upliftment.
- The umbrella making work was started as an effort to empower women to tackle the problem of malnutrition among children in tribal areas, which leads to their deaths.
- Karthumbi umbrellas are being sold for Rs 350, while similar products in the market are priced at around Rs 470.

2. पुलिस लाइन की 2 महिला पुलिसकर्मियों ने जीता गोल्ड मेडल:ऑल इंडिया पुलिस जूडो क्लस्टर के फाइनल में CISF को हराया, दोनों ने साथ में सीखा मार्शल आर्ट
- राजस्थान के सीकर की पुलिस लाइन में तैनात नीलम और रेखा हेड कांस्टेबल ने असम के गुवाहाटी में चल रहे ऑल इंडिया पुलिस जूडो क्लस्टर इवेंट में इंडोनेशियाई मार्शल आर्ट में गोल्ड मेडल जीता है।
- नीलम और रेखा ने सेमीफाइनल में एसएसबी को हराकर फाइनल में जगह बनाई और सीआईएफ की महिला एथलीट को हराया।
- नीलम ने बताया कि, उन्हें हमेशा से ही स्पोर्ट्स में रुचि रही है। उन्होनें 2016 में मार्शल आर्ट करना शुरू किया। दोनों ने जयपुर में कोच पूर्णमल जाट के निर्देशन में मार्शल आर्ट की ट्रेनिंग की।

3. IAS officer Sujata Saunik creates history, becomes Maharashtra's first female Chief Secretary
- Sujata Saunik is the 45th chief secretary of the state since the formation of Maharashtra in 1960 - and the first woman to hold the top bureaucratic post.
- Sujata Saunik, a 1987 batch IAS officer, replaced Dr Nitin Kareer after his retirement. This is the first time in the state that the two top civil service positions are held by women - Sujata Saunik as chief secretary and Rashmi Shukla as director general of police.
- Sujata Saunik has over three decades of experience in public policy and governance in healthcare, finance, education, disaster management and peacebuilding at the district, state and federal levels, and in international organisations as part of the IAS.
