1. Tripura CM inaugurates state's first synthetic athletic track, sends proposal to DoNER for International Standard Sports Complex
- In a move to develop the sports infrastructure in Tripura, Chief Minister announced on 2 July 2024, that the state government has sent a proposal to the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) for Rs 38.55 crore to set up an international standard sports complex.
- CM made the announcement after the inauguration of the Arunava Roy Synthetic Athletic Track at The Regional College of Physical Education (RCPE), Panisagar, under the "Khelo India Scheme" along with this also inaugurated Panisagar HS School. The first ever Synthetic Athletic Track set up in Tripura.
- The Mukhyamantri Sports Development Scheme, a series of initiatives have been undertaken for the development of sports."In NSRCC, Agartala, we will set up a basketball and volleyball court, an indoor hall, and the Office of the Sports Department will be set up at Teliamura under Khowai district,

2. First-ever India-Belarus Consular Dialogue held in Minsk
- India and Belarus held the first-ever Consular Dialogue in Minsk and discussions were held on various Consular issues ranging from the welfare of Indian students in Belarus to enhancing tourism between the two countries.
- The officials of India and Belarus also agreed to follow up on the discussions of the Dialogue and review them at the next edition of the India-Belarus Consular Dialogue which will be held in New Delhi at a mutually convenient date.
- Belarus is also ready to provide support to the growing Indian industrial cluster, including participation in such programmes as "Make in India", "Smart Cities", and modernization of Indian agricultural sector.
- Bilateral cooperation in the sphere of tourism is growing progressively. India is becoming more and more popular among Belarusian tourists.

3. Tripura to launch Vidya Pravesh scheme to boost elementary education: CM
- The Centre has been working to improve the education system and that the state government is working in tandem with it to introduce the ambitious Vidya Pravesh scheme.
- The Vidya Pravesh scheme is a three-month play-based school preparation module, and Rs 128 crore was sanctioned for it recently to boost the quality of elementary education.
- The government has a plan for this. PM e-Vidya, related to digital/online/on-air education, has also been launched. The DISHA scheme has been implemented as well. The main aim of the DIET is to provide better training to teachers.

4. DhaSh PV Technologies’ INR 346.35 Crore Mega Project in Tumkur to Produce 50GW of Solar PV Junction Boxes Annually
- DhaSh PV Technologies, India's largest solar PV manufacturer, is set to launch a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Sira, Tumkur, valued at INR 346.35 crore.
- India's new facility aims to produce 50GW of solar PV junction boxes annually, 1000 km of cables daily, and indigenous diodes, generating over 2,500 jobs and contributing to local economic growth.
- DhaSh PV Technologies plans to establish a state-of-the-art facility to produce high-quality solar PV junction boxes, cables, and diodes, aligning with the Indian government's "Har Ghar Solar" and "Make in India" initiatives.

5. Nearly 1.2 lakh Assam students avail fee waiver scheme for college admissions
- Assam Education Minister on 1 June 2024 stated, over 71 per cent of more than 1.66 lakh students taking admission in different colleges across the state have availed the fee waiver scheme for poor families.
- Previously, students with a parental annual income of up to Rs 2 lakh were eligible for free admission, but the limit has been raised to Rs 4 lakh from 2024.
- Doubling admission fees, the Minister asserted that the state government does not charge any fee from college students and instead, it offers a fee waiver scheme for BPL students. The state government has paid Rs 103 crore to different colleges for enrollment of students in the 2023.

6. Assam leads with 19 GI tags, Northeast registers 25 items in single day in March 2024
- Assam has emerged as the leading state with 19 products granted Geographical Indication (GI) tags out of a record issuance of 62 items in a single day in March 2024. Of the 62 items which have received GI tags, 25 are from the Northeast.
- From the Northeast region, Meghalaya and Tripura also secured 4 and 2 GI tags respectively, solidifying their place among the top regions.
- Earlier, on June 2, a selection of traditional culinary delights and handicrafts clinched the prestigious Geographical Indication (GI) tag, representing the rich cultural heritage and culinary legacy of the Bodo people, an indigenous group primarily based in the state of Assam.
- The GI tags were awarded to Aronai, Maibra Jou Bidwi, Jou Gwran, Jou Gishi, Narzi, Napham, Ondla and Gwkha-Gwkhwi.

7. Indian Railways Plans Rs 1 Lakh Crore Investment
- Indian Railways plans to invest Rs 1 lakh crore in Odisha over five years for infrastructure development, aiming to improve connectivity, passenger amenities, and freight operations, aligning with national development goals.
- Investment in railway stations, tracks, safety measures, and signaling systems will boost the state's economy and create job opportunities, enhancing connectivity, safety, and efficiency.

- दिल्ली स्थित Shahi Exports कंपनी की शुरुआत सरला आहूजा ने अपने घर से शुरू की और आज उनकी कंपनी का टर्नओवर 8000 करोड़ रुपये है। अब तक 75,000 से ज्यादा महिलाओं को प्रशिक्षित किया जा चुका है।
- शाही एक्सपोर्ट्स में 115,000-कर्मचारी काम कर रहे है, और आज उनके भारत में 51 से कारखाने है। उनकी कंपनी वॉलमार्ट, गैप इंक, एबरक्रॉम्बी एंड फिच, पीवीएच, कोहल्स, एच एंड एम, टारगेट जैसे बड़े ब्रांड्स को सप्लाई कर रही है।
- सरला आहूजा ने बताया कि उन्होनें साल 1974 में 5,000 रुपये की सेविंग्स के साथ दिल्ली के रंजीत नगर में शाही एक्सपोर्ट्स की मैन्यूफैक्चरिंग यूनिट की स्थापना की, उन्होनें शाही एक्सपोर्ट्स के जरिए महिलाओं के लिए लाइफ स्किल प्रोग्राम शुरू किया, जिसमें महिलाओं को कम्यूनिकेशन, टाइम मैनेजमेंट, डिसीजन मेकिंग स्किल्स में ट्रेनिंग दी जाती है।

9. India ranks 10th with $1.4 billion private investment in AI, US tops Top 10 league
- India has ranked tenth in terms of private investment into artificial intelligence (AI) with a $1.4-billion inflow, according to data from Bond Capital. The data comes at a time when the government’s thrust is on AI with initiatives such as the IndiaAI mission and Global IndiaAI Summit.
- The data published in Bond Capital’s report, Will Master’s of Learning Master New Learning, shows that out of the 17 global publicly listed companies whose market capitalisation exceeds $500 billion, 14 are domiciled in the US.
- Nine out of these 17 companies are into the tech and AI space, with all of them based in the US, such as Microsoft, Nvidia, Apple, Alphabet (Google), and Amazon.
- New-age internet companies, like Netflix and OpenAI's ChatGPT, have significantly faster user growth than those founded in the early 2000s, reaching 100 million users in less than six months.

10. Air India to set up South Asia’s largest flying school in Amravati
- Air India plans to establish South Asia's largest Flying Training Organisation (FTO) in Amravati, Vidarbha, to enhance India's pilot training capacity. The flying school will be operational by mid 2026 and 180 commercial pilots will pass out every year.
- The Amravati airport runway was recently expanded by the state-owned Maharashtra Airport Development Company. The FTO, the first by any Indian airline in the country, will have 31 single-engine and 3 twin-engine aircraft for training.
- The collaborative initiative between MADC and Air India will create over 3,000 new employment opportunities within the aviation sector, and, also, generate employment in other allied ventures, contributing over Rs. 1,000 crore to the state’s GDP over the next decade.
