31. ओडिशा में 14 लोगों ने ईसाइयत छोड़कर अपनाया सनातन धर्म,
- ओडिशा के केन्दुझर व मयुरभंज जिले के सीमावर्ती इलाके में ईसाई मिशनरियों के धोखाधडी का शिकार होकर ईसाई बन चुके अनसूचित जनजाति वर्ग के दो परिवारों के 14 लोगों ने अपने सनातन धर्म में घर वापसी ।
- मयूरभंज जिले के महुलडिहा थाना क्षेत्र के झरझरी गांव में ग्रामीणों के सहयोग से विश्व हिन्दू परिषद ने एक विशेष कार्यक्रम आयोजित किया, जिसमें 14 लोगों ने घर वापसी की ।
- घर वापसी करने वाले एक परिवार के प्रमुख ने बताया कि कुछ साल पहले उनके परिवार में एक व्यक्ति को बुखार था। बुखार कम नहीं हो रहा था। ऐसे में ईसाई पादरी उनके पास आये और कहा कि यदि आप लोग यीशू के शरण में चले जाओगे तो स्वास्थ्य ठीक हो जाएगा।
- ईसाई पादरी ने एक सफेद पाउडर यह कहते हुए दिया कि यह यीशू की विभुति है। इसे पानी में मिलाकर लेने से स्वास्थ्य ठीक हो जाएगा। उसे लेने के बाद बीमार व्यक्ति ठीक हो गया। इसके बाद उसने हमारा कन्वर्जन कर लिया। बाद में हमें पता चला यीशू की विभूति बता कर जो उसने दिया था। वह वास्तव में पैरासिटामोल था।

32. Former San Ysidro church choir leader sentenced for child sex abuse of 15-year-old girl
- A former San Ysidro church choir group leader who pleaded guilty to sexually abusing a 15-year-old girl who was a member of the choir was sentenced two years in state prison.
- Rafael Magana, 28, was a choir group leader at Victory Outreach Church, pleaded guilty earlier in 2024, to one count of lewd acts on a child on Nov. 6, 2021 and was ordered to register as a sex offender.
- Church choir group leader was 25 years old at the time, drove the girl to and from a baby shower that day. After the baby shower, Magana drove the girl to the Paradise Hills neighborhood where parked the car on Reo Drive, sexually assaulted in the car, then drove the girl home.

33. Church Safeguarding Commission concludes 26 cases in 2023
- The Malta Church’s Safeguarding Commission concluded 26 cases in 2023. Of these, 18 cases concerned minors and eight involved vulnerable adults.
- Among the cases involving minors, four were found to be substantiated. Two of these substantiated cases involved sexual abuse complaints against diocesan priests. One priest was referred to civil authorities, while in the other case, the adult victim chose not to file a police report.
- The other two substantiated cases involving minors concerned laypersons, with one case of sexual abuse and another of sexual harassment. Both were referred to civil authorities.
- Of the remaining cases involving minors, one was partially substantiated, one unsubstantiated, and one was not deemed a safeguarding concern. Five cases were processed by other bodies or bishops outside Malta, and six required no further action.

34. Woman sues Catholic order in Delaware for child sex abuse on Maryland Eastern Shore
- A woman is suing the Oblates of St. Francis de Sales, a Catholic order based in Delaware, for sexual abuse stated a suffered as a young girl at the hands of a priest on Maryland’s Eastern Shore.
- Joyce Harper, 74, who now lives in Florida, alleges in a lawsuit filed on 19 June 2024 that Oblate priest George Mahoney, who has since died, sexually abused her and another girl after mass at Our Mother of Sorrows Church in Centreville more than 60 years ago.
- In 1960, Mahoney invited Harper, who was 10, and three other girls to help him count the Sunday offering money, the complaint. Mahoney allegedly took Harper and another girl to his room in the church rectory and sexually assaulted them, one at a time.
- Describing Mahoney as a serial child abuser, Harper’s lawsuit goes on to accuse officials in the Wilmington diocese with helping to cover up his actions, including the abuse of Harper when reported Mahoney to a Catholic priest who, unknown to her, also abused children. The complaint charges negligence, assault and battery and fraud, among other claims.

35. Former Lubbock youth pastor arrested on child sexual assault allegations
- A former youth pastor 41-year-old Luke Cunningham at a local church has been arrested on a charge of sexual assault of a child.
- Church leaders of Turning Point Community Church addressed the allegations in an email to the congregation.
- Cunningham was a staff member at a Baptist church in Granbury. He served as the student pastor at Turning Point from 2016 to 2020.

36. राखी और मेहंदी लगाकर स्कूल पहुंची तो मिली रूह कंपाने वाली सजा
- उत्तर प्रदेश के फतेहपुर में मिशनरी स्कूल में रक्षाबंधन के बाद हाथों में मेहंदी लगाकर पहुंची कुछ छात्राओं को स्कूल प्रशासन ने सजा के तौर पर धूप में खड़ा कर दिया.
- जब स्कूल प्रशासन का इतने से भी मन नहीं भरा तो उसने छात्राओं के हाथ की राखियां काटकर फेंक दी और हाथ में लगी मेहंदी को पत्थर से घिसकर मिटाया गया. स्कूल में हुई इस बदसलूकी के बाद जब छात्राएं घर पहुंचीं तो उन्होंने सारी कहानी पैरेंट्स को बताई.
- परिजनों ने स्कूल में जमकर बवाल काटा, जिसके बाद स्कूल पहुंची पुलिस ने नाराज लोगों को शांत करवाया. परिजनों ने इस मामले में सदर कोतवाली थाने में शिकायत दर्ज कराई है. पुलिस का कहना है कि जांच के बाद ही आगे की कार्रवाई की जाएगी.

37. Teacher ‘cuts off’ rakhis tied on students’ wrists; Gujarat govt seeks explanation
- The Gujarat government has sought explanation from a school in Gandhinagar following allegations that one of its teachers forcibly removed rakhis tied on the wrists of students.
- Some parents had complained to the education department that a teacher at Mount Carmel High School cut off, with scissors, the rakhis tied on the wrists of students in Class V, a day after Rakshabandhan.
- “The incident was unwarranted. We will not tolerate any act which hurts religious sentiments. My department has issued a notice to the school and sought explanation about who did it and who ordered it. We will take further decision after getting the reply,” Chudasama told reporters.

38. Woman who stole more than $1.3M from church, business pleads guilty
- Lisa A. Noble, 44, also known as Lisa Prynn, formerly of Williamsville, who stole more than $1.3 million from a local church and business faces a “significant period of incarceration” after pleaded guilty to an 11-count indictment on 18 June 2024.
- Between April 2023 and September 2023, Accused Noble, while working as a business manager for St. Amelia’s Parish in the Town of Tonawanda, stole approximately $465,000 from the church. She made numerous unauthorized purchases with the church’s debit card, issued fraudulent checks to herself and stole cash deposits. Noble used the stolen money to purchase concert tickets, travel, lodging and other personal expenses.
- Noble also pleaded guilty 18 June 2024 for a separate crime. Over the course of approximately five years, she stole more than $500,000 while working as an office manager for an audiology practice in the City of Tonawanda. Noble stole the money from the medical practice between 2016 and 2021.
- On Sept. 15, 2023, Noble was placed on administrative leave shortly after the theft was uncovered. She was terminated from her position the following week after further investigation by St. Amelia Parish and the Diocese of Buffalo Internal Audit Department.
- As a condition of the plea, Noble signed Confessions of Judgment to pay restitution in the amounts of $465,424.19 to St. Amelia’s Parish and $890,723.08 to the audiology practice.

39. Pastor of Texas megachurch and ex-Trump adviser resigns after admitting he sexually abused 12-year-old girl
- Robert Morris, pastor of a megachurch in the US state of Texas, on June 18, 2024 resigned after admitting to sexually abusing a child in the 1980s. The Dallas-based Gateway church, in a statement, said that they had accepted Morris’ resignation.
- This was after a woman had come forward publicly with her account and said that Pastor Robert Morris, a senior pastor, had sexually abused her on multiple occasions when she was 12 years old.
- Victim Clemishire, now 54, alleged that Morris was staying at her house with his wife and son, in 1982. During this time, he asked her to come to his room, told her to lay on his bed and then began touching her inappropriately.
- Pastor Morris June 15, 2024 told that he was “involved in inappropriate sexual behavior” with a girl he inaccurately referred to as “a young lady”.

40. Gender activist group makes minor boy wear mangalsutra, bindi to ‘smash the patriarchy’: Its history of using minors for propaganda
- Gender activist group Equal Community Foundation published a video of a minor on Twitter on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan in which he was seen wearing a bindi and mangalsutra.
- In the tweet, the group wrote, “Shreyas, our #ActionForEqualilty participant, pledges not to pass comments at girls or make them uncomfortable in any way. P.S. – Notice the bindi and mangalsutra he is wearing to protest the need for women to “look married” or be the “property” of their husbands. #RakshaBandh”
- Instead of #RakshaBandhan, the Equal Community Foundation used the hashtag #RakshaBandh to ‘smash the patriarchy’. The tweet and use of the minor boy in the video attract a lot of criticism on social media platforms. While some Twitter users tagged Minister of Women and Child Development Smriti Irani to look into the problematic tweet, others criticised the group and called the video absurd.
