2111. Noida-based co. builds IT park, unveiled by President Kovind in Swaziland
- President of India Ramnath Kovind and Prime Minister of Swaziland Barnabas Sibusiso Dlamini unveiled Royal Science and Technology Innovation Park in Phocweni, Swaziland on Apr 10, 2018.
- The park has been constructed by a leading Noida-based Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) Company - Angelique International Limited (AIL).
- The US$ 20 million (INR 130 crore) IT park, financed by the Government of India under bilateral cooperation, is aimed to assist Swazi Government’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through use of information technology.

2112. India grants free aid to build convention center in Ukulhas
- On 22 May 2019, It was reported that, Foreign Ministry said that as part of the MVR 100 million in free aid from India to the Maldives, the Indian government has granted MVR 7,806,900.00 to build the convention center.
- The objective of the project is to provide a venue for the local council, guest house owners and business communities to host conferences thereby promoting MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions) tourism.
- The grant assistance has been provided through the MVR 100 million granted to the Maldives by the Government of India during the visit of the Indian Minister of External Affairs, Sushma Swaraj in March 2019.
2113. Jaishankar inaugurates convention centre in Niger dedicated to Gandhi
- On Jan 22, 2020 It was reported that, A $56-million convention centre dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi, the first such structure established in Africa by India, has been inaugurated in Niger by external affairs minister S Jaishankar and Nigerien President Mahamadou Issoufou.
- The Mahatma Gandhi International Convention Centre (MGICC) is a “landmark for India-Niger friendship” and a “symbol of India’s firm commitment towards Africa”, the external affairs ministry said.
- The MGICC is also the first centre to be built in Africa by India to honour the memory of Gandhi, whose 150th birth anniversary was observed last year.

2114. PM Modi inaugurates Mauritius Supreme Court building: Key points
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Mauritius counterpart Pravind Kumar Jugnauth on Jul 30, 2020 jointly inaugurated the new Supreme Court building at Port Louis completed with Indian assistance as part of New Delhi's thrust on cooperation with countries in the Indian Ocean Region.
- The inauguration via video conferencing was done in presence of senior members of the judiciary from Mauritius and other dignitaries from both countries.
- The court structure construction is one of the five projects under the USD 353 million Special Economic Package (SEP) extended by India in 2016. The project was completed within schedule and below expected cost. The building is spread over an area of more than 4,700 sq m with over 10 floors and has a built-up area of around 25,000 sq m.

2115. India, Seychelles agree to work on naval base project, respect mutual concerns
- India extended a $100 million line of credit to Seychelles on 25 June 2018, day as the two countries agreed to work on the stalled Assumption Island Project keeping each other’s interests in mind. Keeping in view the strategic nature of bilateral ties, India gifted a Dornier aircraft to Seychelles.
- India will also provide grants for civilian projects in Seychelles — among others, this will include the building of the Government house, police headquarters and the attorney general’s office.
- However, sources here said, Seychelles was too important for India to sulk and turn away — instead India has decided to deepen and diversify its engagement with the Indian Ocean country. In their discussions, Indian leadership has told the Seychelles delegation that while the Assumption Island project would remain as an agreement between two sovereign nations, the progress on the project would be at a pace comfortable to Seychelles.

2116. PM Modi, Seychelles President to participate in online event to inaugurate projects
- On 07 April 2025, It was reported that, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Seychelles President Wavel Ramkalawan will participate in a virtual event on 08 April 2021, during which a range of Indian projects in the Seychelles will be inaugurated.
- The high-level virtual event will feature a joint e-inauguration of the new Magistrates' Court building in the Seychelles, the handing over of a Fast Patrol Vessel to the Seychelles Coast Guard, the handing over of a 1-MW solar power plant, the inauguration of 10 high-impact community development projects (HICDPs), the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) said in a statement on 07 April 2025.
- The 1-MW ground-mounted solar power plant at the Romainville Island of the Seychelles has been completed as part of the "Solar PV Democratisation Project" being implemented in the Seychelles by the Indian government under grant assistance.

2117. ‘India-built Mongolia refinery by 2025’
- On 24 Apr 2023 It was reported that, Mongolia’s first oil refinery, built and funded with Indian assistance, will be completed by 2025, said the country’s Ambassador Dambajav Ganbold.
- In an interview, Ganbold said the first stage of Mongol Oil Refinery, built with a $1.2 billion Indian soft loan, will be completed at the end of this year.
- Refinery will process 30,000 barrels of crude oil per day or 1.5 million tonnes annually.

2118. Jaishankar visits Kiduthani project that will provide drinking water to 30,000 households in Zanzibar
- External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar On 06 Jul 2023 visited the Kiduthani project that will provide drinking water to 30,000 households in Zanzibar - one of six projects undertaken by India that will provide drinking water access to the local population.
- "Visited the Kiduthani project that will provide drinking water to 30,000 households in Zanzibar.
- The six projects we are building will give drinking water access to a million Zanzibaris. The local enthusiasm for our efforts was palpable. Similar to Jal Jeevan Mission in India," Jaishankar tweeted.

2119. India dedicates Jaffna Cultural Centre to people of Sri Lanka
- On Feb 11, 2023, India dedicated to the people of Sri Lanka the state-of-the-art Jaffna Cultural Centre which was built with India's assistance and is a magnificent example of the bilateral development partnership.
- The centre, whose foundation stone was laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in March 2015, was dedicated to the people of Sri Lanka after a colourful cultural show that projected the diversity and richness of Sri Lankan culture.
- Consists of multiple facilities such as a museum, an advanced theatre-style auditorium that can accommodate more than 600 people, a 11-storey learning tower and a public square

2120. India sends pomegranates to US for first time by sea
- On 21 April 2025 A consignment of 14 tonnes of pomegranates grown in Maharashtra's Ahilyanagar recently landed in the United States, for the first time via a sea route.
- The fruits, all packed in 4,620 boxes, were dispatched from Mumbai and reached New York in the second week of March, within five weeks of departure. In a statement on April 19, the Union Ministry of Commerce said the cargo was met with "exceptional enthusiasm" and quality of the pomegranates the Bhagwa variety .
- The consignment by sea was dispatched by a Mumbai-based exporter of fruits and vegetables, registered with India's Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA).
