- On March 3, 2026, it was reported that NYAI has launched India’s first Legislation-Verified Drafting Ecosystem, a legal AI platform that not only drafts documents but continuously verifies them in real time against applicable Indian statutes, rules, amendments, and notified provisions.

62. Ministry of Railways sanctions four projects across three states
- On March 2, 2026, the Ministry sanctioned four major rail infrastructure projects across Rajasthan, Kerala, and West Bengal. These developments focus on enhancing maintenance facilities, doubling tracks, and constructing bypass lines to improve regional rail operations.
- The Ministry of Railways (MoR) authorized these projects by allocating specific budgets for each. They aim to accelerate capacity and efficiency by modernizing coach maintenance, expanding track infrastructure, and streamlining freight and passenger movement through technical upgrades.
- The projects include a ₹4.5 billion doubling of the 21.1 km Turavur-Mararikulam section and a bypass in West Bengal. Rajasthan's facilities will receive modern washing lines and equipment tailored for Vande Bharat and LHB train sets.
63. Uttarakhand CM Dhami inaugurates Rs 147 crore development projects in Haldwani

- Maruti Suzuki achieved growth through a 56 percent rise in exports to 39,155 units and strong utility vehicle sales of 72,756 units, reflecting increasing consumer preference for SUVs and MPVs.
- Domestic sales stood at 1,74,840 units including OEMs. Mini and compact segment sales declined to 76,624 units. April–February FY2025–26 total sales reached 2,197,462 units, with exports rising to 400,734 units year-on-year.

66. Rs 294.1 crore approved for landslide mitigation on Kiratpur-Manali NH
- On February 28, 2026, Rs 294.1 crore was approved for permanent landslide mitigation and slope stabilisation works on the Kiratpur–Manali NH-3 corridor at the vulnerable Thalout stretch in Mandi district, Himachal Pradesh.
- Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways announced the approval via social media. The project will implement advanced slope protection systems and reinforced concrete structures to deliver long-term, sustainable solutions instead of temporary repairs.
- NH-3 connects Kullu, Manali, Lahaul-Spiti and Leh. The Thalout stretch faced repeated monsoon landslides, and a nearby four-lane tunnel remained closed for eight months, disrupting tourism, essential supplies and strategic connectivity across the region.
67. UPI Transactions Jump 27% To 20.39 Billion In February, Daily Volumes & Global Reach Continue To Rise
- In February, UPI processed 20.39 billion transactions across India, recording a 27% year-on-year increase in volumes, though slightly lower than January’s 21.70 billion transactions, according to NPCI data released On March 1, 2026.
- The Unified Payments Interface, operated by the National Payments Corporation of India, achieved growth through expanding merchant adoption and rising higher-value transactions, signalling structural digital payment expansion, according to industry executives including fintech cofounder Siddharth Mehta.
- Transaction value rose 22% year-on-year to Rs 26.84 lakh crore but declined 5.2% month-on-month from Rs 28.33 lakh crore in January, which had three additional days. Average daily transactions reached a record 728 million in February.

68. PM inaugurates first semiconductor plant: ‘Look what a Gujju can do with Re 1…’

- The plant will manufacture SSD storage devices, DRAM and NAND products. It is expected to create an industrial ecosystem in Sanand. The government has approved 10 semiconductor projects, with more units set to begin production in Noida, Assam, Odisha and Punjab.

69. Presidency University ties up with University of Birmingham

70. Indian university signs MoU with American university for research opportunities
- Delhi Technological University (DTU) and the University of Houston (UH) signed a five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to intensify academic and research collaboration.
- The agreement will be extended in 2030, if needed, with the view of facilitating knowledge exchange, collaborative research, and increased opportunities for students. Students will also enjoy paid internships and cooperative placements provided by the host institution.
- Under this collaboration, UH and DTU will engage in collaborative educational and research activities. Scholars and faculty will be able to participate in research exchanges, exchange academic publications, and work together on scholarly projects.
- It has also collaborated with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations to advance Tamil language and culture.
