21451. Three Wheels United and Euler Motors join hands to promote the adoption of electric three-wheelers in India
- three Wheels United (TWU), a Bengaluru-based tech-enabled financier of light electric vehicles, has partnered with Electric Vehicle maker Euler Motors to accelerate the adoption of electric three-wheelers in India and promote sustainable mobility.
- As a part of the partnership, TWU and Euler Motors will deploy over 1000 EV 3-wheelers across Delhi NCR, Bengaluru, Chennai, and Hyderabad by the end of the financial year 2023. Three Wheels United has over 50,000 drivers on its platform, offering them various products and services. The company has financed over 4000 auto-rickshaws resulting in the reduction of 1,72,000+ tonnes of CO2 emissions, and the generation of an extra $71M in income for the drivers.
- With a payload capacity of 688 kg, Euler HiLoad is India’s most powerful three-wheeler cargo. Boasting the highest payload capacity across the 3W cargo segment in India (including ICE), it also has a powerful combination of highest liquid cooled battery pack (12.4 kWh) with a certified range (151 KM).
21452. Surat to get India’s 1st bullet train station, Union minister tweets 1st look
- The bullet train station will be the first one built along the Mumbai-Ahmedabad route. The Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project, will be the country's first bullet train route.
- Surat is set to have its own swanky bullet train station. Union Minister of State for Railways Darshana Jardosh on Thursday tweeted a graphical illustration of the railway station that is scheduled to be completed by December 2024.
- “For Surat station, the construction has started on Chainage 264. At the same time, construction work of pile, pile cap and pillar between Chainage 358 to 360 is in progress in Bharuch district,” the high speed rail project official had told Hindustan Times last week.
- Of the 508.17-kilometre Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project, 155.76 km is in Maharashtra, 384.04 km in Gujarat and 4.3 km in Dadra and Nagar Haveli.
21453. Explained: Isro's first launch of 2022 that will carry three satellites to space
- The Indian Space & Research Organisation (Isro) is all set to conduct the first launch of 2022 as it lifts off the workhorse Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) on its 54th mission to space.
- The launch is scheduled for February 14 at 5:59 am from the First Launch Pad of Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota.The space agency will launch the Earth Observation Satellite-04 and two rideshare payloads that include a student satellite and a mission that will lay the foundation for a future India-Bhutan Joint Satellite project. The first launch of 2022 comes months after the fatal loss of the Earth Observation Satellite (EOS-03) that could not be deployed due to a "technical anomaly" in August last year.
- The 54th mission of the PSLV will see it climb up to an altitude of 529 kilometers above the Earth's surface in the Sun Synchronous Orbit where it will deploy the Earth Observation Satellite. The PSLV is a third-generation launch vehicle designed by India which can take up to 1,750 kg of payload to Sun-Synchronous Polar Orbits of 600 km altitude.
21454. Telangana IAS Helps Save 700-YO Banyan Tree After 3 Years of Continuous Effort
- In 2017, Ronald Rose, the then district collector of Mahbubnagar, Telangana initiated steps to revive the 13th-century banyan tree after a big trunk infested with termites, collapsed
- A canopy and a walkway now installed in the Mahbubnagar district of Telangana—about 100 km from Hyderabad—form a pathway to the grounds of a 700-year-old tree. Hundreds of visitors roam around the vast expanse of the tree, which is spread across a 3.5-acres. This age-old tree is one of the largest banyan trees in India and holds heritage value.
- The IAS officer adds that longer roots halfway or nearing the ground were surrounded by PVC pipes and filled with the organic matter. About 50 such structures were created surrounding the roots.

- देवी नदी के पास अस्त रंगा बीच की यह साईट, कछुओं के घोसले बनाने की प्रमुख जगहों में से एक है। अन्य जगहों में रुशिकुल्या और गहिरमठा शामिल हैं। सरकार जानती है कि इन जगहों का संरक्षण बहुत ज़रूरी है और अपने स्तर पर काम भी कर रही है। लेकिन जितना होना चाहिए उतना काम नहीं हो रहा है और अन्य दो जगहों पर ज्यादा काम होता है क्योंकि वहाँ टूरिस्ट ज्यादा आते हैं। हमने महसूस किया कि अस्त रंगा तट पर ज्यादा ध्यान नहीं दिया जा रहा है।
- 27 सितंबर 2020 को उन्होंने ‘देवी कच्छाप कल्याणम’ अभियान शुरू किया। इस अभियान में सौम्या के साथ दिलीप, प्रभाकर, संतोष, सुशांत और सुमन शामिल हुए। इसके तहत उन्होंने हर दिन अस्त रंगा तट और इसके आस -पास के इलाकों से कचरे को इकट्ठा किया। हालांकि, यह काम बिल्कुल भी आसान नहीं था। एक महीने में उन्होंने लगभग 24 किलोमीटर में फैले तटीय इलाके से 5 हज़ार किलो कचरा इकट्ठा करके मैनेजमेंट सेंटर तक भेजा।
- युवाओं के प्रयासों को पुरी जिला प्रशासन ने सराहा और महिंद्रा एंड महिंद्रा कंपनी ने उन्हें कचरा इकट्ठा करने के लिए ट्रैक्टर भी दिया। दिलीप कहते हैं, “स्थानीय प्रशासन ने उन्हें एक लोकल कंपनी को यह कचरा देने के लिए कहा था जो इसे आगे प्रोसेस करती। लेकिन जब तक ट्रैक्टर नहीं आ गया तब तक हमें 6 घंटे चलकर कचरा पहुँचाना पड़ता था।”
21456. This boxer is inspiring talented youngsters to get into the ring by training them for free of cost
- Thirty seven-year-old Mujtaba Kamal born and brought up in the cultural capital of India, Kamal picked up his first pair of boxing gloves when he was as young as nine-years-old. From there on, he gradually climbed the ladder and went on to win amateur boxing tournaments both at the state and national levels.
- Kamal participated and won a gold medal as well at many prestigious competitions such as the Germany Cup in 1998, YMCA International in 1999, and the South Asian Cup in 2001. Kamal suffered a severe jaw injury, which jeopardised his career in pro boxing. So, he decided to return to India. He joined fitness chain Cult.Fit as a boxing coach in Bengaluru and began spreading the word about the sport.
- The 37-year-old identifies amateur boxers who possess vigour and potential and then offers to train them. Two such individuals are Karthik Sathish Kumar and Faizan Anwar. His aim is to set the stage for the sport in the country and train youngsters for intense battles so that they can represent India in the 2024 Olympics.
21457. IAS Officer Has The Best ‘Return Gift’ For Those Who Dump Garbage on Street Corners
- Andhra Pradesh’s Kakinada city Municipal Commissioner, IAS Swapnil Pundkar, has devised a rather innovative method to deal with the city’s garbage littering issue. Here, after due verification of facts, if a household is found dumping garbage on the streets, or in places where it should not, the Municipal Commissioner and his team tracks down the culprit and ensures that it is sent right back to the house, as a “return gift” from the city.
- Swapnil have identified places that are GVP and are working towards ensuring that we change that,” says Swapnil. In Kakinada, when Swapnil took charge in June 2020, there were almost 150 GVPs and with consistent work over the last five months, they have reached 50 GVPs.
- Swapnil is confident that this initiative will help in bringing about the much-needed change in mind-set. “If everyone starts to follow the rules, even the few who want to deviate will think twice”.
21458. Amputee Cyclist Helps Rehabilitate Over 1000 BSF, CRPF Jawans Injured in Line of Duty
- Aditya Mehta, a below-knee amputee, is working with the Border Security Force (BSF) to scout talented youngsters with physical disabilities who will represent India in the 2024 and 2028 Paralympic Games. The Aditya Mehta Foundation (AMF) has 200 beneficiaries who have received prosthetic limbs and customised adaptive devices for various sports.
- In November 2019, his foundation opened Asia’s first 5,000-square-foot Infinity Para-Sports Academy & Rehab Center at Begumpet on the outskirts of Hyderabad with a ll training facilities, food, lodging and even adaptive devices. In his Infinity 2020 ride from Kashmir to Kanyakumari on cycle ,he is joined by Harinder Singh, a BSF soldier turned para-cyclist and former BSF Jawan and Asian Para Cycling Championship bronze medallist, Gurulal Singh.
- Over 100 para athletes have benefited from the foundation so far, and the 33-year-old Aditya has counselled more than 1,000 serving personnel of the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF), which includes the BSF, ITBP, CRPF and SSB, seriously injured in the line of duty and suffering from a whole range of physical disabilities. The foundation has set a mission to win 100 medals in the 2021 Paralympics.
21459. Rs 87.65 Cr released till date for NSU : Thakur
- The Government has released a total of Rs 87.65 crore till date for the development of the National Sports University in Manipur, Sports Minister Anurag Thakur told the Lok Sabha on Tuesday.
- "The Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports has released a total fund of Rs 87.65 crore till date including Rs 5.49 crore during current Financial Year 2021-22 for establishing/construction of main campus and for functioning of temporary campus in Manipur," Thakur said.
- National Sports University, established in Manipur, is aimed at promoting education in the areas of sports sciences, sports technology, sports coaching, besides functioning as the National training centre for selected sports disciplines. Thakur also said that 90 Extension Centres of STC (Sports Authority of India Training Centre), including 60 Khelo India Centres, and 10 regular schools which are part of the National Sports Talent Contest (NSTC), are operational under Sports Authority of India.

21460. Kashmir Cop Turns COVID Warrior, Helps 1,000 Households Despite No Cash Donations
- When Lockdown 1.0 was imposed nationwide on 25 March, the people of Kashmir were caught terribly off guard. That’s when 33-year-old Sheikh Aadil Mushtaq, a 2015 batch Jammu and Kashmir Police Service officer currently posted as Deputy Superintendent of Police (Traffic) in Srinagar, and about eight of his friends from different walks of life, came up with the idea of helping deliver daily essentials and medicines to the doorstep of needy residents.
- He appealed to people that whosoever is in need of essentials or medicines can convey their requirements directly to him or the WhatsApp numbers he shared. One WhatsApp group was dedicated to free medicine requests, the second for free home delivery of medicines and the third for free groceries.
- Since Lockdown 1.0, Deputy SP Sheikh Aadil and his friends have delivered daily essentials and medicines to over 1,000 households, predominantly in Srinagar. They have even reached out to residents in Anantnag, Baramulla, Bandipora and Ganderbal.
