561. Nagaland gets its first medical college 60 years after statehood
- Kohima, September 7, 2023. Almost 60 years after its statehood, Nagaland finally got the state’s first-ever medical college – Nagaland Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (NIMSR).
- Union Health and Family Welfare Minister inaugurated the first medical college of the state, Nagaland Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (NIMSR), and realized the long-cherished dream of the people of Nagaland
- The NIMSR received the letter of permission for admission of 100 MBBS seats from the academic year 2023-2024.

562. First ever Nagaland Potato Festival held at Jakhama
- On May 10, 2024, Kohima is celebrating the organic products of Nagaland. Jakhama village in Kohima district held the first-ever Nagaland Potato Festival at Jakhama ground.
- Around 73 stalls were set up by vendors displaying varieties of potatoes, demonstrations on potato plantations, and organic potatoes were on sale at reasonable prices.
- This kind of exposure will open many eyes of the area and take the maximum benefit of getting engaged in agro-based activities

563. PM Modi receives highest honour of Cyprus: Dedicate this award to our friendship
- On 16 June 2025, India PM during his official visit to Nicosia, Cyprus, India PM was awarded Cyprus’ highest civilian honour the Grand Cross of the Order of Makarios III by President Nikos Christodoulides.
- India PM dedicated the honour to 1.4 billion Indians and the India-Cyprus friendship, highlighting shared values, culture, and the philosophy of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam “the world is one family”.

564. Nagaland: 1 MW Ponglefo Small Hydro Electric Project inaugurated in Kiphire
- Nagaland’s Power & Parliamentary Affairs minister, on June 5, 2025, virtually inaugurated the 1 MW Ponglefo Small Hydro Electric Project (SHP) at Salomi village in Kiphire district.
- All small and mini hydro projects, including solar, bio, or any kind of clean energy-producing avenues, will be explored for production and generation of energy in the state.
- According to the Minister, doors will be opened for the international community to invest in the power sector, especially focusing on the sector of production and energy generation sectors.

565. Noklak organises its first Badminton Open Tournament
- The Noklak District Badminton Association (NDBA) organised its first-ever Annual Open Tournament 2025 at the Multi-Discipline Sports Stadium, Noklak, held from November 28, 2025.
- The tournament marked a historic sports milestone for Noklak district, marking a new beginning for organised sporting culture and opportunities in the region, and opening doors for the younger generation.

566. PM Modi receives Ghana's highest state honour 'Officer of the Order of the Star'
- On July 2–3, 2025, during his historic state visit to Ghana the first by an Indian Prime Minister in over 30 years.India Prime Minister was conferred Ghana’s highest national honour, the Officer of the Order of the Star of Ghana by President John Dramani Mahama in Accra, Ghana in recognition of his “distinguished statesmanship and influential global leadership.”
- Accepting the award,India PM dedicated it to the aspirations of India’s 1.4 billion people, especially its youth, and to India’s cultural traditions, diversity, and historical ties with Ghana, highlighting the deepening friendship and shared democratic values between the two nations.

567. Brazil confers its highest civilian honour ‘Grand Collar of the National Order of the Southern Cross’ on PM Modi
- On July 9,2025,India Prime Minister, during his four-day visit to Brazil (BRICS Summit in Rio de Janeiro and State visit to Brasilia), strongly called for reforms in international institutions to ensure proper representation and decision-making space for the Global South.
- The BRICS Leaders’ Declaration strongly condemned the April 22 terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir and reaffirmed a zero-tolerance policy against terrorism, while PM Modi highlighted climate justice as India’s moral responsibility.
- During bilateral talks, India and Brazil agreed to raise bilateral trade to USD 20 billion within five years, expand the Mercosur trade agreement, promote UPI adoption in Brazil, and enhance cooperation in agriculture, digital infrastructure and space. 569. PM gets Namibia's highest civilian award, his 27th global honour since 2014
- On 9 July 2025, IIndia Prime Minister was conferred with Namibia’s highest civilian honour, the Order of the Most Ancient Welwitschia Mirabilis, by Namibian President in Windhoek during his first official visit to the country as part of the final leg of his five-nation diplomatic tour. 570. PM Modi conferred with Ethiopia’s highest honour during Addis Ababa visit, first world leader to receive it
- On December 16,2025,in Addis Ababa, Indian Prime Minister was conferred with Ethiopia’s highest civilian award, The Great Honour Nishan of Ethiopia, during a special ceremony at the Addis International Convention Centre, becoming the first global head of state or government to receive this honour.
