2141. India Weaves Growth: Silk production rises to 38,913 MT, exports cross Rs. 2,000 crore, benefiting over 78,000 under government schemes
- On 11 April 2025 It was reported that,India’s silk story is not just about tradition—it’s a tale of transformation and triumph. In 2023-24, the country produced 38,913 metric tonnes of raw silk and exported silk products worth Rs. 2,027.56 crore.
- Solidifying its position as the world’s second-largest silk producer and top consumer, according to the Ministry of Textiles.
- Backed by government schemes like Silk Samagra, which has already benefitted over 78,000 individuals, India’s silk sector is weaving economic empowerment into its rich cultural fabric. From the shimmering sarees of Kanchipuram to the earthy charm of Bhagalpur Tussar, silk continues to bind heritage with livelihoods across rural India.

2142. 6043 किमी ग्रामीण सड़कों की मरम्मत पूरी, 3059 करोड़ खर्च
- 14 अप्रैल 2025 को बताया गया कि पटना राज्य सरकार ने ग्रामीण विकास की दिशा में एक और बड़ी उपलब्धि हासिल की है.मुख्यमंत्री ग्रामीण पथ मरम्मत कार्यक्रम के तहत 2024-25 में 6043 किलोमीटर सड़कों का मरम्मत कार्य पूरा कर लिया गया है.
- इस कार्य पर 3059 करोड़ रुपये की राशि खर्च हुई है. विभाग को इसके लिए कुल 3294 करोड़ रुपये स्वीकृत किये गये थे. यह कार्यक्रम अब बिहार ग्रामीण पथ मरम्मत नीति 2018 के अंतर्गत संचालित हो रहा है.
- 2006-07 में जहां मात्र 106 करोड़ रुपये खर्च हुए थे, वहीं 2024-25 में यह बढ़कर 3059 करोड़ रुपये तक पहुंच गया.यह राज्य सरकार की ग्रामीण सड़कों के प्रति प्रतिबद्धता को दर्शाता है. इस योजना के लागू होने से ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में सड़कों की स्थिति में स्पष्ट सुधार हुआ है. मुख्यमंत्री ग्रामीण पथ मरम्मत कार्यक्रम आज ग्रामीण बिहार के विकास का एक मजबूत आधार बनता जा रहा है.

2143. PM Modi lays foundation stone for powerplant in Yamunanagar
- On 14 April 2025, Prime Minister Of India laid the foundation stone for a project of increasing the capacity of a thermal powerplant in Yamunanagar, Haryana. PM was facilitated by Chief Minister Of Haryana highlighting how the event has happened on the "auspicious day" of Ambedkar Jayanti.
- On this auspicious day, in the name of Deenbandhu Chotu Ram ji, under your leadership, the foundation stone of making the power plant an 800 MW one will be laid On 14 April, 2025.
- PM also flagged off the first commercial flight between Hisar and Ayodhya and laid the foundation stone for a new terminal at Hisar airport.
2144. Northeast’s first robotic surgery facility unveiled in Assam
- Assam Chief Minister On (April 13, 2025) inaugurated the first robotic surgery facility of the northeast at the State Cancer Institute of Gauhati Medical College and Hospital.
- Health officials said the robotic surgery facility was set up for ₹14.99 crore under the Centre’s National Programme for Prevention and Control of Cancer, Diabetes, Cardiovascular Diseases, and Stroke. The facility offers enhanced precision, superior control and 3D visualisation, enabling better outcomes in cancer care.
- Assam is beginning Bohag celebrations by dedicating North East India’s first ever onco-robotic surgery facility at the Guwahati Medical College. Our government hospitals will now offer low-cost, highly precise and least invasive oncological surgical procedures through MADE IN INDIA machinery,” he posted on X after dedicating the facility to the people.

2145. PSLV-C16 Elevates India’s Space Legacy
- On April 20, 2011, ISRO’s PSLV-C16 mission launched from Sriharikota, placing Resourcesat-2, Youthsat, and X-SAT into a polar Sun Synchronous Orbit (SSO). This success reinforced PSLV’s reliability, boosting ISRO’s reputation in remote sensing and international collaboration, with Youthsat (Indo-Russian) and X-SAT (Singapore’s first satellite) highlighting its global reach.
- Resourcesat-2 enhanced India’s remote-sensing capabilities for agriculture, forestry, and disaster management, while Youthsat studied the atmosphere and X-SAT marked Singapore’s space debut, all enabled by PSLV’s cost-effective precision.
- Compared to tools like NASA’s Delta IV or ESA’s Ariane 5, PSLV was lighter and cheaper, rivaling Russia’s Soyuz and China’s Long March in affordability, with its 16th straight success by 2011 cementing ISRO’s edge in the satellite launch market.
- ISRO has launched a total of 129 satellites of Indian origin since its first launch in 1975 with Aryabhata, and 431 foreign satellites for 34 countries as of July 30, 2023, according to official statements, with notable missions like the PSLV-C60/SPADEX in December 2024.
2146. DoNER ministry allocates 32.5cr for Tripura cultural hub
- On 14 April 2025,It was reported that,Tripura chief minister said the ministry of DoNER has allocated Rs 32.5 crore for a cultural hub to boost the tribal heritage of the state after inaugurating state-level Buisu festival of tribals on Bengali New Year.
- Speaking at the state-level Buisu festival in Karbook, Gomati district, Saha revealed that an initial allocation of Rs. 32.5 crore has been earmarked for the project. The cultural hub aims to preserve and promote the rich traditions and heritage of Tripura’s diverse communities.
- The state boasts the National School of Drama, Lalit Kala Academy, Sangeet Natak Academy and Sahitya Akademi, which benefit children in various ways, and they are getting the opportunity to build their careers in the cultural field.
2147. PM Modi inaugurates Northeast's first Vande Bharat Express
- On 29 May 2023, Prime Minister Of India inaugurated Northeast's first Vande Bharat Express that will cover a journey of 411 km between Guwahati and New Jalpaiguri in North Bengal in five-and-a-half hours.
- So far, the fastest train covering the same distance took six-and-a-half hours to travel in this route.
- While Northeast got its first made in India Vande Bharat Express, it is the third Vande Bharat to connect West Bengal," Modi said, after the virtual flag off at 12:40 pm from Guwahati railway station.

- Indian Railways gets its first bridge with over 100 metres high piers! The girders for Bridge number 44 – part of the upcoming Jiribam-Imphal railway line – have been launched over river Makru in the district of Tamenglong, Manipur.
- According to the Northeast Frontier Railway zone, due to anti-social elements activities, the security of railway officials as well as the staff of construction companies was a big challenge. Thus, to cater to this issue, CPRF, as well as Manipur Rifles companies, have been deployed at both ends of bridge number 44.
- The Jiribam-Imphal railway line will connect the Northeast state of Manipur to the rest of India through the Indian Railways network.

2150. Indian Startup Ecosystem Raises Over $180 Million This Week
- On 12 April, 2025, it was reported that, India’s startup ecosystem raised over $180 million across 24 deals in one week, with fintech emerging as the most funded sector and Juspay securing the largest share at $60 million in its Series D round led by Kedaara Capital.
- Early-stage deals were led by Xindus with a $10 million Series A round, while Noise, Easebuzz, and Urban Company also attracted significant growth-stage investments; boAt filed its IPO draft via the confidential route.
- In Q1 2025, India ranked third globally in fintech funding, which totalled $366 million, with March alone accounting for $187 million; Bengaluru led in funding volume, and acquisitions surged 67% year-on-year.
