481. Northeast Frontier Railways launched 11 new trains this year
- On december,30, 2025, It was reported that, The Northeast Frontier Railways (NFR) in 2025 has introduced 11 new trains, including the first ones connecting Mizoram.
- Northeast Frontier Railway introduced these services by starting new express, passenger, Rajdhani, Jan Shatabdi, Vande Bharat, and Amrit Bharat trains, ensuring improved accessibility through daily, weekly, bi-weekly, and tri-weekly operations.
- Mizoram entered India’s rail map with Sairang-Anand Vihar Rajdhani, Guwahati-Sairang daily service, and Kolkata-Sairang tri-weekly express. Additional trains included Sealdah-Jalpaiguri Road Express, Danapur-Jogbani Vande Bharat, Erode-Jogbani Amrit Bharat, Siliguri-Katihar Express, and the Darjeeling-Ghum toy train.

482. IAF institute, IIT-M sign MoU for indigenous airborne communications system
- On December 29, 2025, the Indian Air Force’s Software Development Institute (SDI), Bengaluru, signed an MoU with IIT-Madras to jointly develop an indigenous digital secure communication system for airborne applications.
- The collaboration aims to enhance self-reliance in critical defence technologies, improve IAF operational capabilities, and reduce dependence on imported systems, aligning with Atmanirbhar Bharat.
- The project will work on secure data transmission, advanced encryption, scalable airborne networks, and cyber resilience, to produce deployable prototypes for IAF operations.
483. Indian tech startups raised over Rs 94,000 crore in 2025, Tracxn data reveals
- On December 29, 2025, India’s tech startups raised $10.5 billion (around Rs 94,000 crore) in 2025, down 17% from last year, retaining the position as the world’s third-largest funded ecosystem, according to Tracxn’s India Tech Annual Funding Report 2025.
- Early-stage funding proved more resilient, rising to $3.9 billion, up 7% year-on-year and 11% higher than 2023 levels. Late-stage funding dropped to $5.5 billion, down 26% from 2024 and 8% from 2023.
- India recorded 14 funding rounds of $100 million or more in 2025, compared with 19 in 2024 and 16 in 2023. These were led largely by transportation and logistics tech, environment tech and auto tech. Notable transactions included Erisha E Mobility’s $1.0 billion Series D round, Zepto’s $300 million Series H raise and GreenLine’s $275 million Series A funding.
484. Raj launches health dialogue platform
- On December 28, 2025, Medical education department launched a digital dialogue platform, ‘e-Swasthya Samvad' in Jaipur rajasthan.
- Medical education commissioner said this digital dialogue will be organised every Tuesday and Thursday through video conferencing. The dialogue will occur in two phases.
- The decisions made will be recorded as "instant minutes", and it will be mandatory for officers to submit an action taken report within 72 hours. Monitoring of all cases will be done by the commissioner.
485. Assam Tops India’s Fastest-Growing State Economies Over Five Years
- On December 29, 2025, Assam has emerged as the fastest-growing major state economy in India over the last five years, recording a growth of 45% in Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP), according to data compiled from the Reserve Bank of India.
- The state’s GSDP rose from ₹2.4 lakh crore in FY20 to ₹3.5 lakh crore in FY25, placing it ahead of larger economies such as Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Uttar Pradesh in percentage growth terms.

486. DRDO’s DMSRDE and National Test House Sign MoU to Boost Research, Testing and Training Collaboration
- On Deember 28, 2025, the Defence Materials and Stores Research and Development Establishment (DMSRDE), a Kanpur-based laboratory of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Test House (NTH) to enhance collaboration in the fields of research, testing and training.
- The MoU aims to strengthen institutional cooperation through collaborative research and testing activities. Both organisations will share laboratory and instrumentation facilities and extend mutual support in testing and evaluation services, especially where specialised facilities are not available in-house.
- Under the agreement, DMSRDE and NTH will cooperate in areas of mutual interest and national importance. The partnership reflects a shared commitment to enhancing research and testing capabilities while contributing to national development and self-reliance.
487. Assam cabinet approves ₹115.11 crore NABARD loan for infra push
- On December 28, 2025, the Assam Cabinet approved a ₹115.11 crore NABARD loan to speed up infrastructure projects in four districts.
- The cabinet cleared amendments to the Assam Police Manual to allow both armed and unarmed personnel to compete for ASI promotions, and approved the settlement of 732 land proposals under Mission Basundhara 3.0 and 168 proposals under Mission Basundhara 2.0 in Kamrup (Metro).
- Amendments enabling digital land services will improve transparency and help Assam access ₹150 crore in incentives.
488. Union minister Dharmendra Pradhan unveils infra projects worth Rs 200 cr at NIT-Rourkela

489. India gets its first standard for bomb disposal systems to boost security infrastructure
- On December 27, 2025, India notified its first dedicated standard for bomb disposal systems IS 19445 2025through the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) to strengthen the country’s security infrastructure.
- Developed at the request of the Union Ministry of Home Affairs and the Terminal Ballistic Research Laboratory, the standard sets clear guidelines to evaluate bomb disposal systems against blast and splinter effects under Indian threat conditions.
- Intended for voluntary adoption, the standard aims to ensure uniform testing, improve quality manufacturing, enhance operational confidence, and support Indian manufacturers in meeting global performance benchmarks.
490. Chamarajanagar district’s first Government Law College inaugurated
- On December 27, 2025, Chamarajanagar district’s first Government Law College was formally inaugurated in Chamarajanagar town after years of efforts by local leaders, marking a major milestone in expanding higher education within the district.
- The college received Bar Council of India approval earlier in 2025 following an appeal by MP Sunil Bose, to reduce hardships faced by students traveling outside the district for legal education.
