2521. India’s Solar Revolution: PM Surya Ghar achieves milestone of 10 lakh solar installations
- On 13 march, 2025, Muft Bijli Yojana (PMSGMBY), the world’s largest domestic rooftop solar initiative, has crossed a historic milestone with 10 lakh homes now powered by solar energy as of March 10 as per an official statement from the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.
- the scheme is transforming India’s energy landscape. With 47.3 lakh applications received, the government has disbursed Rs. 4,770 crore in subsidies to 6.13 lakh beneficiaries, making solar energy more accessible to Indian households.
- The scheme is expected to add 30 GW of solar capacity through residential rooftop installations by 2027, significantly boosting India’s renewable energy targets. Over the 25-year lifespan of these systems, it is estimated that they will generate 1000 billion units (BU) of electricity while reducing CO2 emissions by 720 million tonnes.

2524. Assam: Tinsukia Railway Station Set to Undergo Rs 20.5 Crore Makeover

2525. Mizoram records robust economic growth, GSDP projected to reach Rs 35,575.54 crore
- On March 5, 2025, Mizoram’s Economic Survey 2024-25, tabled in the state assembly by Chief Minister, highlighted remarkable economic growth and structural transformation over the past decade. - The Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) at current prices is projected to rise from ₹30,690.33 crore in 2022-23 to ₹35,575.54 crore in 2023-24, marking an impressive 15.92% growth over the previous year. At constant (2011-12) prices, Mizoram’s economy has maintained steady expansion, with a projected 11.6% increase in GSDP and an overall annual economic growth rate of 9.89% in 2023-24.

2526. J&K attracts more investment after abrogation of Article 370, ₹10,516 crore worth investments since 2019
- On 11 March 2025, it was reported that, since 2019, Jammu and Kashmir have attracted ₹10,516 crore in investments, with ₹7,108 crore in Jammu and ₹3,407.63 crore in Kashmir.

2528. IPGMER first govt hosp in E India to launch robotic op
- On 12 march 2025 Robotic surgery is set to debut at IPGMER, making it the first govt hospital in eastern India to bring in this technology to boost healthcare.
- The facility will be installed at Rs 6.4 crore, an amount already sanctioned by the state health department.

2529. ESR India Launches First In-park EV Charging Station at Taloja Logistics Park
- On 11 march 2025, ESR Group, Asia-Pacific's leading New Economy real asset manager, has launched its first integrated Electric Vehicle charging infrastructure at its 89-acre Grade A Taloja Industrial and Logistics Park in India.
- The initiative aligns with ESR’s Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) 2030 Roadmap to decarbonise and drive sustainability in the Company’s operations – paving the way for a cleaner, more sustainable logistics transportation system in Maharashtra and supporting the Government of India’s plan to achieve net zero emissions by 2070.
- The EV charging station can charge up to 10 EVs and a variety of EV models simultaneously, catering to the different needs of businesses and tenants across ESR Taloja’s 14 buildings spanning 1.9 million square feet (over 175,000 square metres) of space. Six of these charging stations rated at 7.4 kilowatts (kW) are designed for four-wheelers, while the remaining stations rated at 3.3kW are for two-wheelers.
2530. Tata Power Renewable Energy Signs MoU with Andhra Pradesh to Boost Renewable Energy Capacity
- On 10 march 2025, Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd (TPREL), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop up to 7,000 megawatts (MW) of renewable energy capacity in the state.
- The project, which includes solar, wind, and hybrid energy solutions, represents an estimated investment of ₹49,000 crore ($5.6 billion).
- The agreement is a major boost to wind energy development in Andhra Pradesh, aligning with the state’s Integrated Clean Energy Policy. As part of the initiative, TPREL will conduct feasibility studies and develop wind power projects, leveraging the region’s strong wind potential to enhance clean energy production.
