2441. Cabinet approves Rs 7,000 crore deal for Indigenous ATAGS acquisition
- On 20 march 2025 Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) has approved the acquisition of 307 advanced towed artillery gun systems (ATAGS) for the Indian Army.
- "In a significant milestone for India's defence sector, the CCS approved acquisition of Advanced Towed Artillery Gun System (ATAGS) worth nearly Rs 7000 crore, marking a major step towards self-reliance in artillery gun manufacturing,
- ATAGS, the first indigenously designed, developed, and manufactured 155 mm artillery gun, is set to enhance the operational capabilities of the Indian Armed Forces with its cutting-edge technology and superior firepower.
- The ATAGS is an advanced towed artillery gun system featuring a long 52-calibre barrel, allowing for extended firing ranges of up to 40 km.
2442. India-made electrolysers shipped for Kandla Port's green hydrogen plant
- Union Minister Of India initiated the dispatch of India-made electrolysers for a green hydrogen plant at Kandla Port on 18 March,2025, According to ANI, the 1 MW plant, slated for completion by July 2025, will initially produce 18 kg of green hydrogen per hour, eventually scaling up to a 10 MW capacity.
- The project aims to provide practical experience in green hydrogen production and usage, with Kandla Port becoming the first in India to operate such a plant using domestically produced electrolysers.
- The project also includes plans to integrate green ammonia production. This initiative aligns with the National Green Hydrogen Mission, promoting sustainable practices in the maritime sector.
2443. Modi’s vision strengthened: Rs 7,000 crore deal for 307 Advanced ‘Make in India’ artillery guns
- On 19 march,2025,Prime Minister Of India led cabinet committee on security cleared the around Rs 7,000 crore deal to acquire advanced towed artillery gun systems (ATAGS).
- The deal is being seen as a significant step in the defense corridors, as it is one of the most important developments in India’s efforts to strengthen its defense capabilities under Modi’s vision for a self-reliant defense industry, as part of the ‘Make in India’ initiative.

2444. Adani Green's arm commissions 250 MW solar power project in Rajasthan
- On 20 march 2025 Adani Green Energy Ltd. on Thursday, March 20, announced the successful commissioning of a 250 MW solar power project in Rajasthan's Bhimsar.
- The project was undertaken by Adani Green Energy Twenty Four Ltd., a wholly-owned step-down subsidiary of the company.
- Adani Green Energy is a renewable energy company that develops, owns, and operates solar, wind, and hybrid (solar + wind) power plants across India.
2445. ISRO chief inaugurates space technology incubation centre at NIT Rourkela
- On 20 march 2025 In assam state ISRO chairman Dr V Narayanan on Wednesday inaugurated the new Space Technology Incubation Centre (STIC) at the National Institute of Technology-Rourkel .
- This is a momentous occasion as we are inaugurating the STIC facility at NIT-Rourkela and also celebrating the return of Sunita Williams and her fellow astronauts after their remarkable mission aboard the International Space Station.”
- The facilitate this, an MoU between ISRO and NIT-Rourkela was signed four years ago. Since then, eight projects with a total value of approximately Rs 1.7 crore, have been underway.
2446. Indian Toy Industry On A Strong Growth Trajectory; Exports Up 40%, Imports Down 79% Over 5 Years: Report
- On 28 february,2025 It was reported that India’s toy industry is on a strong growth trajectory, with the potential to capture a larger share of the global toy market, which is projected to reach USD 179.4 billion by 2032,
- The Indian toy market, valued at around USD 1.5 billion in 2023, has witnessed significant policy support from the government.
- The impact of these policies is visible in trade statistics. India’s toy imports have dropped sharply, from USD 304 million in FY2018-19 to just USD 65 million in FY2023-24, marking a 79% decline. Meanwhile, exports have grown by 40% during the same period, rising from USD 109 million to USD 152 million. As a result, India has become a net exporter of toys.

2447. Kashmir’s first solar powered car ‘RAY’ set to hit the roads with new design
- ON 3 march 2025 After three years of rigorous efforts by a math teacher named Bilal Ahmad Mir from Srinagar to revolutionize transport in Kashmir through his solar car and that car is now ready to take roads.
- The solar-powered vehicle features a brand-new design with enhanced efficiency and technology. RAY is a 1 kW solar-powered car that has advanced solar panels, a high-tech BMS, and autonomous parking sensors.
- The car can run continuously without charging, and its sensor-optimised solar panels adjust their orientation to maximize sunlight capture. Mir spent 13 years turning his vision into reality, modifying a 1988 Nissan Micra to create the prototype.
2448. Hindustan Power signs INR 620-crore solar, storage MoU with Assam
- On 3 march 2025 Hindustan Power has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Assam to invest INR 620 crore in solar power and battery energy storage projects.
- Hindustan Power targets 5 GW energy portfolio over the next three years. The investment in Assam will drive the development of a 100 MW solar power plant alongside a 100 MW battery energy storage system.
- Hindustan Power will invest INR 500 crore for the solar plant and INR 120 crore for the battery storage facility.
2449. NTPC’s 300 MW Kolayat solar power plant now fully operational
- On 3 march 2025 NTPC announced that its 300 MW Shambu ki Burj-2 (Kolayat) solar PV project in Bikaner district of Rajasthan is now fully operational.
- The project was commissioned by NTPC arm NTPC Green Energy in a phased manner, with the final 18.32 MW portion recently going online.
- The 300MW Sambhu Ki Bhurj-II solar PV project has been developed under the second phase of the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy’s CPSU Scheme.
2450. Centre govertment sanctions Rs 223 crore for rural roads & bridges in Andhra pradesh
- On 2 march 2025 The Central government has approved Rs 223.65 crore for road and bridge construction projects in the State under Phase 3 of the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), Union Minister of State for Rural Development and Communication Pemmasani Chandrasekhar.
- The highest share, with Rs 143.24 crore, while other districts were allotted Rs 80.41 crore. The funding follows a 60:40 cost-sharing ratio between the Centre and the State government.
- The total of 20 road projects covering 138.93 km will be built at a cost of Rs 123.46 crore, with Rs 74.076 crore from the Centre and Rs 49.384 crore from the State. Four bridges spanning 1,036.22 meters will be constructed with an investment of Rs 100.19 crore, including Rs 28.74 crore from the Centre and Rs 71.45 crore from the State.
